Great place. The host was very friendly and helpful. There were many extra touches in the rooms that made the place just that cut above others. Breakfast was really good and undersold by its description on the owners' website. The garden is really lovely. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

We loved our stay at the Garden Gate Bed & Breakfast. The facilities in the BB are really good, the staff is just the BEST and you have this warm and friendly atmosphere. Also, we loved the location and the fact that is situated in a residential area and not in a big resort.

Our room exceded our expectations. The hostess and staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The ocean view was a constant source of pleasure.Breakfast was always one of fresh fruit yogurt and baked goods with choices for everyone. The courtyard location was comfortable and a great place to socialise with other guests. Nothing of any consequence.

We stayed in two different rooms on two different nights. The first room was the cheap basic room. That one was tiny but had all the amenities we needed. The second room was the private studio downstairs and was amazing with a kitchen, living room, and great amenities. I believe the price difference isn't too great between the rooms so I def would suggest the studio if you plan on being in your room a lot. The location was great- right down the street from the beach. Shopping was close by. Parking for rental cars. Gerry was the owner and was so nice and friendly. They had laundry facilities, a fridge, and beach gear (snorkels, toys, towels, etc) for use. It really felt like home! They even provided shampoo and soap in the bathrooms. The breakfast (included) was great but don't expect bacon and eggs. It's more continental style like fruit and muffins. We still enjoyed it but just letting anyone who's wondering what to expect.

Our stay could not have been better. Friendly staff, good breakfast, large room, beautiful garden and lanai area, quiet, restful, close to our planned activities, (Lahaina) and we hated to leave, we will return in the future. There were a couple of very minor maintenance items, which could have been the same anywhere at any price. Not really worth mentioning.

Gerri, the owner was so nice and accommodating! We weren't able to rent a car and she was kind enough to pick us up and take us different places we need to go. She goes out of her way to make you feel welcome! The gardens were very pretty!

The hosts are committed to their guests' enjoyment of Maui. They embody the "Aloha" spirit. I thought the bathroom looked very dated; the bathtub leaked. However, that was overlooked by Jeri packing me a nice breakfast the morning I departed. I scheduled a whale watch trip and needed to leave before breakfast was served. This intimate setting is NOT the place for people used to staying in large resorts.

Steve seemed helpful. We had made our reservation for a King Suite with Ocean View almost a year ago and assumed that we would have one of the rooms pictured. Somehow they managed to lose our reservation and didn't realize this until one month before our stay. At this point they decided to put us in what would hardly be described as a Suite, and definitely was not one of the rooms pictured. We had a nice view, but everything else about the room was very poor for the money we paid. I didn't see this in any of the other reviews but there appear to be three King Suites, two that are pictured and one that looks like a standard room, but with a view. Be very careful that you aren't duped by that. Even making your reservation well in advance won't guarantee you one of the pictured rooms.

The garden and eating area was lovely, clearly a lot of work and care to make it inviting and pretty. Breakfast was good, excellent coffee, Hawaiian music. The location was good; it was quiet and easy to make a home base for seeing all of Maui. The hosts were always ready with tips and advice. A dozen little things: no splenda, no cream at breakfast, metal chairs, gear to borrow was broken or dirty, little things. One huge issue: the "standard" room was terrible. A truly nightmarish bed, stained, old carpet, sheets with holes, stains and gouges in walls, insanely noisy air conditioners...if you can't afford the better rooms, stay elsewhere.

This b&b is embedded in a quiet neighborhood and sensitive to comfort and concerns of neighbors pertaining to parking and quiet time. Access is close to main highway. Favorite part was the staff and family owners that visited with each guest and gave them helpful information regarding area attractions, routes and history or geology of the island. They also helped with luggage which had to be carried up the stairs. It is a little difficult getting to the correct street when coming in from the north, must make a u-turn since left turn is not allowed. Some morning traffic noise from the nearby main road. I could also hear the tv of neighboring units.

GGB&B was all that one could ask for. They were accomadating in every way and knowledgeable in all aspects of Maui. They provided a quality map and explained the positives a well as any negatives. It was truly evrything we expected.. and more. 5 star in our book.
