A/C did not cool room sufficiently
The lobby was nice
Staff made us wait too long and they weren't very friendly.
Nice room. Free transport to JFK
Small but nice room for the cost. Breakfast is included however not available for those who have to leave at 5:30am for flights :/
The excellent location, regular shuttle to the airport. Very helpful staff. Good shower. Comfortable bed.
Lack of a restaurant and/or bar in the hotel and limited options nearby. Decor a bit dated in the rooms.
Friendly staff, room clean and comfortable. Airport shuttle.
No frigo bar in room. Breakfast was terrible, few choices, huge crowd around a tiny buffet, very small room plus a banquet room through a propped door, not clean. Little parking nearby: on street, crowded with locals, cleaning regs limit days. Poor neighborhood with few options.
Free shuttle to airport
Dirty stains in bathroom - back of door and bath tub
waiting for the Shuttle bus at the rental car return took 40 Minutes. Bus driver was unfriendly and find not care for the luggage (threw it into the bus)
I found the staff helpful and friendly, comfortable bed with a good nights sleep. We were happy with out stay
Room could have been a little bit cleaner but wasn't awful.
If you would like to get 25 years old environment and facilities, you are exactly in the right place. Seems that I dive in Budapest hotel.
No restaurants around. Always you should take a taxi to go out. You can open room door with electronic key after 05 mins of fighting with locker.
Very strong value proposition. Well kept.
Staff needs to be more welcoming.
Television. Some channels were out of tune. Asked for services but nothing was done
Shuttle pick up from airport
Breakfast disposable crockery and cutlery
Noise and very poor breakfast
This was an extremely bad experience. I would never stay at this hotel again and I hope people that would read this review would do the same. The staff were rude, the room was old and not clean and the location was awful.
Everything was good.
The location was great if you have an overnight layover at JFK and the shuttle service is free, and the beds were comfortable with nice clean linens.
These types of hotels offend me. They are neither good enough to justify the expense, nor cheap enough to justify the little inconveniences. If I had paid less than $100, I would have been satisfied, but after taxes, at $150, Garden Inn and Suites is not worth it. I understand I'm paying the NY premium, but that's not an excuse for poor quality. My son and I had to switch rooms due to a sopping wet carpet, and were moved to a room where the red light on the phone was blinking. When I mentioned this, I was told in a rather curt manner that I had already changed rooms once, and that I couldn't possibly be changed an additional time. And, in fact, I wasn't even suggesting another room, I merely wanted them to shut off the blinking light. At $150, a customer should get a room with both dry carpet and working electronics. And even though the hotel caters to travelers who generally have early morning flights, the free breakfast doesn't begin until 6:00 am when most people need to be on the move. If we had more leisure morning time, well we wouldn't be staying near the airport when Manhattan is a subway ride away. Additionally, the shuttle bus leaves only every 30 minutes, so it was either breakfast or miss your flight. So once you factor in having to purchase breakfast at the airport, you may as well pay a bit more and get a better hotel experience, or pay a bit less and have fewer bells and whistles. With very little effort Garden Inn and Suites could be a first rate establishment. My suggestion? Open the breakfast earlier, insure that the rooms are in good shape and treat costumers well. I know it's not easy, but it's certainly not impossible. I'm tired of hotels using convenience and location as an excuse to do anything less.
This hotel is clean and the staff quite courteous. I would definitely stay here again.
Conveniently located next to JFK, dog friendly with a park right next door and the wifi and breakfast were both excellent.
Water was cold
Bed was comfortable and rooms were a reasonable size
Apalling food in the "restaurant" and terrible breakfast No alcohol at the bar Restaurant service was bad
The bed was old and hard as a rock. The clerk who checked us in was not helpful and seemed put out by the fact that we reserved through booking.com.
fountains and decorations at the enterance
promised parking, but had it only on the street. No hot water Rooms are too small, shabby, walls are covered in dirty spots, sink had a crack Staff does not know how to smile Elevator was not polished
It's certainly close to the airport. The lobby is very nicely decorated. There was free wifi, which was reasonably fast.
There is no hotel parking. There was a vague mention of a public parking lot somewhere (with no guarantee of availability), and we just wound up looking for street parking. Our keys were very finicky. We had to swipe them just right to get the door to open. The room was just large enough for the bed. The complimentary breakfast was meager, to be kind. It was set up almost like an afterthought. The coffee was terrible.
I liked having JFK so close and having transportation provided.
Did no have water for my two day stay.
Close to the airport. Shuttle service was efficient.
Restaurant service was slow. Check in staff was rude and visibly bothered by customers.
