The unit was nicely arranged and nicely furnished. The office staff and activity person were very helpful. Great place across the road to catch a sunset. For the money it was a good value. Would stay again if I go back to Maui
Needed lighting on the walk way beside the building back to walkway leading to the rooms. Lack of office hours.
Room was clean.
Roosters at 5/6 am. Not just one or two but many of them. Noisy air conditioner unit. A/C vent blowing directly onto the bed. Did not like the fact there was not a desk clerk on duty when we got there. Had to call sister motel to get instructions for the "gray box". Murphey bed was unexpected. Not sure I would recommend, especially if wanting a beach close by--about 1/4 mile away.
The Napili Bay area is a great location, quieter with a slower pace than Ka'anapali beach area. The back units, only, had some nice landscaping. Large pool, unfortunately not heated. Washer and dryer with complementary soap. Kitchen well supplied with equipment.
Office is closed Mon, Tues, Wed so the keys to our 1 bedroom condo was through telephoning another resort and obtaining the number to the locked box by the office. However, we had a mistake in our accomodations, a studio assigned instead of a 1 bedroom. (The assigned studio #1704 was very dreary with the front non-private patio literally on the corner of the car park area. If you like to watch passing cars it would be perfect.) We had to reconnect with the other resort and they finally assigned us a proper 1 bedroom condo but we had to wait for security to arrive with the keys. On Thursday, the on site office was open and we paid the remaining fees and asked for a receipt. Non was forth coming, "you'll get it at the end of your stay with an itemized bill." HA, no one was in the office the following Tuesday to deliver it to us. We contacted the other resort and had to drive there and wait to get the billing receipts. It was too laid back an arrangement to have no one on site for so many days. They also charge an additional resort fee. I have no idea what the fee was for as there were no special ammenities on site that I could see. I don't feel it was very good value for the money as condo #308 was nothing special. No superior furniture or infrastructure. I wish I would have booked at Napili Kai across the street. I have stayed there before and, unlike this one, that is a superior resort.
Cleanliness and availability of all the utensils and toiletries I needed during my 5 day stay. The staff where very supportive when I needed an extension of time beyond checkout to manage a medical problem.
Room itself was well sized. Bed was comfortable. 2 bathrooms.
Unbearable musty/moldy odour.
This is a small hotel (really looked more like a motel/condo place) located in a central area and near several beaches, resorts and restaurants without feeling too over-commercialized. The value was the cheapest I could find (given I booked it about a month before my trip and stayed during the high season). I paid about $130/night plus fees (they always get you with those fees). The pool and hot tub were nice, and were never crowded. There are also grills to use in the patio area. I liked that the studio I rented had a full kitchen with a fridge, microwave, stove, utensils and dishes (made for good leftover storage and easy, cheap meals when I was on the go). I also liked that it had a washer and dryer and made sure to use them. The staff I talked to were very friendly, although I didn't ask for much tourist advice. I liked that they have beach items (chairs, shovel/pail, toys, etc.) that you can borrow for the beach left out on the porch. There is a beach basically across the street that is in front of a different hotel that is the most beautiful beach I've ever seen and is less than a 2 minute walk. The restaurant at this other hotel, The Sea House, was also excellent and had a great view of the beach.
One problem I had...where are these fabled Gardens of West Maui? There really weren't any gardens on the property like I had hoped (although nice landscaping), and the lanai (patio) for my room overlooked the parking lot, as did all of the other lanais in my building. The other buildings didn't have a great view either (hedges and the pool if they were lucky). We stayed in a studio condo, which unfortunately didn't have an actual bedroom. Yes, I know it's a studio, however, the rooms are kind of divided (not open floor plan), so it seemed like there would be a bedroom. Instead, the bed folded down from the wall of the living room. Still, it was nice to have a bathroom, living room with couch and table/chairs to eat at, plus a kitchen and a few closets. The worst thing about this place is definitively the crowing of what sounded like multiple roosters next door to the property (which I'm assuming the owners probably can't do anything about as they are not on the hotel's property). They started crowing at about 3 am and didn't stop until about 9 pm. Very agitating. I had to sleep with ear plugs in every night, and even then sometimes woke up! Very uncomfortable. Also, my room was never visited once in the week I was there to clean up, make the bed or change any linens or towels. They apparently only come once mid-week, but I was sleeping and had the "do not disturb" sign on the door (this was at about 8 am). They left a notice that they tried to come, but never came back again, and I had immediately taken the sign off the door no later than 9 am. I even went to the desk and asked if someone could come back, and apparently there was some kind of miscommunication, because I had the same pile of dirty, sandy towels on my bathroom floor all week. I kept hoping someone would come take them, but alas, no one ever did. Unfortunately between all my sightseeing and the limited open hours of the office, I was never able to ask...
Everything was perfect. The price and location was unbeatable. We were impressed with the condo and the beautiful grounds too. Close to the beach! I highly recommended staying here and plan to stay here again next time we are on maui.
Great position, in a very beautiful part of Maui, very close to kanapaali and Lahina. The room was confortable and clean, the staff very pleasant . A very good stay.
They organized pest spray in the middle of our stay. The bed was so soft it sunk in the middle. Check in was a nightmare as reception was unattended and phone they provided didn't work had trouble contacting them.
location close to beach and nice part of island. spacious accomodation
early morning noise from golf course service road in close proximity.
