Staff service Upgrade
Air conditioning was a little loud, but could be turned off.
Remodeling of front desk area. However the staff handled very well. 5*****
The staff were friendly and helpful. Really good location, right in the middle of the Gaslamp Quarter.Has a fridge/ microwave/ cutlery.
Free wi-fi was only available on the roof and in the lobby, and the rates were very expensive to get it elsewhere.Got noisy at night time. Breakfast was limited.
Large, clean comfortable rooms. Good service staff. Great location.
Barest of bones breakfast. Weekend street noise.
Everything was walking distance.loved the room also
Had to pay 32$ for parking...
location, great area just to walk around in downtown san diego, rooftop breakfast
Very nice suite. Lots of helpful information about the area from the staff. Breakfast on the roof.
Same breakfast food all three mornings we were there. Could use some variety.
Overall good experience, we spent only one night though, didn't try breakfast
They pre-authorize your card by charging it $100. I feel like somebody could have mentioned the amount.
Nice view and a good space. The hotel is situated at the excellent place for dinners and shoppings.
Because it is at the center of downtown, nights on the week-end are too noisy untill 2:00 am in the mid-night, and really hard to have a good sleep.
Location, Location, Location. The room was elegant.. the bar downstairs was a blast.. I will be a frequent resident. It is downtown near some great clubs.. so you may have a like noise at 2:00 am.. but who goes to bed before 2:00 when you are staying in the Gas Lamp.! :-)
The tub facet was dripping.. but I'm sure they fixed it after I left.. amazing to me how people won't report problems and leave it for the next person to deal with.. ugh..
Amazing rooms with beautiful views. The customer service is the best and so was the location! I love this place and will come back! Thanks Sean!
*Perfect Location, in the Gas Lamp District *Great Value *Friendly Staff
*You need to pay for wifi
i was wowed by our room. the view was amazing, the quality of the room was suburb, location was a huge plus. i wish i had stayed here during my whole vacation in san diego. the staff are extremely helpful and polite. breakfast is really just some coffee and toast, but i didn't mind!
we stayed on the 9th floor, so there wasn't a lot of noise. if you stayed on a lower floor, i'm sure there would be noise from the nighclub in the basement and people in the street.
This beautiful hotel is located right in the middle of the restaurant district. It is perfectly equipped with everything necessary for living like at home with all kitchen utensils.
If your windows are facing the restaurant street, don't expect silence before 3 am.
Excellent front desk service (Mary; very helpful); charming renovation of older office building; and location (but see "Negatives" on the last).
If you are older and crabbier, the Gaslamp District is a bit too "young," crowded and noisy on a Friday night. But if you like to mingle; and want to get something to eat or drink, the location is close to ideal.
no restaurant, not even drinks available, extremely poor breakfast, way too expensive in respect to what was offered
Mini suite was really clean-comfortable...I decided to stay 2 extra nights!!! Right in the middle of gaslamp-everything in walking distance and the room is so clean and had everything a traveler would need
Didn't take advantage of the breakfast. It was an uninspired buffet with a lot of calories and not a lot of nutrition. If the hotel addressed this, then I'd be a much happier client!
Location, size of the suite, microwave in the "kitchen". Great AC.
Woman at front desk on arrival did not look up, only called someone else. That person also was not very welcoming. For inflated ComicCon rates, thought I might have received a better greeting. Other staff during stay were friendlier, but bad 1st impression.
Location and comfort
Valet parking is very expensive. The staff will not help you with regards to other parking options. However, there is a decency cheap parking option only 200 meters away from the hotel. I would recommend you take this one! Just drive a little on 6th avenue for a coupe of blocks till you pass the intersection with G-Street and you should find it on your left. They have the cheapest 24-hour parking in San Diego (except of course on the day there is a Baseball match)
Has microwave and a living room.
Bed is too small for two adults and one kid. I feel It's smaller than queen. No free wifi, breakfast just bread, cereal and coffee. Parking cost extra, very noisy during weekend night.
I didn't feel I spent too much money. I felt pampered in a 1920's top-of-line hotel. The room was so unlike any hotel room I ever rented in my price range. The firnishings were all very comfortable and the staff were all very helpful.
Liked the location near trolley cart, bus lines and not far from Union Station. Room was comfortable and decorated in original style. Reception staff were quick, efficient and informative, particularly Merry who was a wealth of knowledge about nearby attractions and how to get there. Definitely recommend this place
Being hard but the lifts were slow and noisy carried through the walls.
Comfortable bed, big room, quiet. God location in middle of gaslamp district.
