Amazing rooms with beautiful views. The customer service is the best and so was the location! I love this place and will come back! Thanks Sean!
*Perfect Location, in the Gas Lamp District *Great Value *Friendly Staff
*You need to pay for wifi
i was wowed by our room. the view was amazing, the quality of the room was suburb, location was a huge plus. i wish i had stayed here during my whole vacation in san diego. the staff are extremely helpful and polite. breakfast is really just some coffee and toast, but i didn't mind!
we stayed on the 9th floor, so there wasn't a lot of noise. if you stayed on a lower floor, i'm sure there would be noise from the nighclub in the basement and people in the street.
This beautiful hotel is located right in the middle of the restaurant district. It is perfectly equipped with everything necessary for living like at home with all kitchen utensils.
If your windows are facing the restaurant street, don't expect silence before 3 am.
Excellent front desk service (Mary; very helpful); charming renovation of older office building; and location (but see "Negatives" on the last).
If you are older and crabbier, the Gaslamp District is a bit too "young," crowded and noisy on a Friday night. But if you like to mingle; and want to get something to eat or drink, the location is close to ideal.
no restaurant, not even drinks available, extremely poor breakfast, way too expensive in respect to what was offered
Mini suite was really clean-comfortable...I decided to stay 2 extra nights!!! Right in the middle of gaslamp-everything in walking distance and the room is so clean and had everything a traveler would need
Didn't take advantage of the breakfast. It was an uninspired buffet with a lot of calories and not a lot of nutrition. If the hotel addressed this, then I'd be a much happier client!
Location, size of the suite, microwave in the "kitchen". Great AC.
Woman at front desk on arrival did not look up, only called someone else. That person also was not very welcoming. For inflated ComicCon rates, thought I might have received a better greeting. Other staff during stay were friendlier, but bad 1st impression.
Location and comfort
Valet parking is very expensive. The staff will not help you with regards to other parking options. However, there is a decency cheap parking option only 200 meters away from the hotel. I would recommend you take this one! Just drive a little on 6th avenue for a coupe of blocks till you pass the intersection with G-Street and you should find it on your left. They have the cheapest 24-hour parking in San Diego (except of course on the day there is a Baseball match)
Has microwave and a living room.
Bed is too small for two adults and one kid. I feel It's smaller than queen. No free wifi, breakfast just bread, cereal and coffee. Parking cost extra, very noisy during weekend night.
I didn't feel I spent too much money. I felt pampered in a 1920's top-of-line hotel. The room was so unlike any hotel room I ever rented in my price range. The firnishings were all very comfortable and the staff were all very helpful.
Liked the location near trolley cart, bus lines and not far from Union Station. Room was comfortable and decorated in original style. Reception staff were quick, efficient and informative, particularly Merry who was a wealth of knowledge about nearby attractions and how to get there. Definitely recommend this place
Being hard but the lifts were slow and noisy carried through the walls.
Comfortable bed, big room, quiet. God location in middle of gaslamp district.
Very central and right on the doorstep of the Gas Lamp entertainment
No free parking. Apart from the cost, I hate valet parking. The hotel charges you and the attendant expects a tip as well. I don't like it and I'm perfectly capable of parking my car myself. We had a medical emergency and the guy behind the reception desk was hopeless - thank god for the valet attendant!!
The decor was beautiful and unique. Very nice, spacious and clean room
Price was a bit high for one night stay, however it was 4th of July weekend
Room Size Location Ease of Check In/Out
$30 valet only (would be nice to park my own car) Glass Door to Room w/ 1" gap on the bottom (Very Loud) Fixed Single Pane Windows (Very Loud Street Noise) The Breakfast is a continental and they advertise it as breakfast (2 types of cereal, toast and pastry) Overpriced Stains on Furniture Malfunctioning Lamps and Light Switches Free wifi on Roof and Building Foyer but not In rooms No Ammenities
Bed was too firm. There's also a nightclub in the basement of the building so at night, you actually can hear the bass pumping through the walls of the hotel. Kinda annoying if you're trying to get a good night's sleep.
We had 2 mini suites for our family of 4 (teenage children). The rooms were spacious, comfortable, clean and classically decorated. The elevators were quick. The location was right in the middle of the gaslamp area, with plenty going on nearby.
The busy street, was very noisy and the windows do not keep out the noise. Modern hotels have far better noise insulation. The fondue restaurant located next door was expensive. The breakfast on the roof terrace had a very limited selection.
Staff was very friendly, and helpful.Hotel was a great place for a fun stay in S.D. Only minus would be the free breakfast, it would not impress anyone
Breakfast, not good nuf said
Great location, nice staff, clean room
Could hear the people screaming in the room next door and in the hallway. Hair dryer caught fire.
We loved the location. Valet was fantastic!! The view from our room and roof top was amazing!
We were hoping for a little more variety with breakfast.
I thought I'd been given the wrong room it was so large and inviting. All of the staff was great (Merry, you're an easy person to remember). The best part was the peace and quiet (I was convinced I was the only person in the hotel) which was unexpected in a vibrant place like San Diego.
Right in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter Large suites Knowledgeable and welcoming staff Very clean and tidy
No breakfast or bar Noise from street
