Plenty to do without having to go outside when the weather is poor.
Waiting time for breakfast
Our beautiful atrium room was near a waterfall. We could listen to the water sounds all night. You would not have to leave the property if you didn't want to. Everything is there.
the hotel was very busy and check-in took quite a while.
Room balcony overlooking the atrium with all the white lights and the sound of water falls.
Restaurants were very pricey and not very good! The breakfast buffet for 13.75 was terrible with eggs that looked like powdered ones, raw bacon, and no good whole wheat bread or bagels; only white bread and a couple of unappetizing pasteries. Coffee was good, but served in paper cups. Overall rating: awful!
Impressive tropical conservatory, marble lobby, comfortable beds
Air conditioned resort. Given directions and a map after queue to check-in, most supermarkets are better than that! Many bedrooms have windows and balconies into the conservatory. Windows of others do not open. Lack of a breakfast room - it was available delivered to the room and from one or two restaurants which had long queues. No armchairs in bedroom - it had one chair at the table and another hard seat was delivered at our request - presumably guests are expected to have breakfast in bed. Transport to the center of Nashville was an expensive coach ride - they clearly wanted guests to stay within the resort. No recycling of rubbish from bedrooms.
Loved the whole garden settings, boat ride & shops. Staff was very friendly & helpful finding our way throughout the grounds.
Did not appreciate the added fees & $170 increase above what booking.com price gave me. It was a shock, but like Disney World, this was a once in lifetime trip, so my daughter & I bit the bullet & learned a lesson. Beautiful hotel, but too expensive for average family vacation to Nashville! I felt booking.com was inaccurate in actual room costs.
Waterfall sound all night, fresh air from plants, comfy bed.
Walk from car to room was so long.
Breakfast, staff and many other things... They were not cleaning your room if you do not ask 100 times. Just an artificial environment with humid weather inside which feels like a prison but no service provided. You also cannot open the windows inside your room bc they are locked. Then it feels like even more prison. I would say never stay or never go there if you can avoid.
The shuttle service
ALL restraints closed at 12am
It was definitely a posh place to stay! Clean, accommodating...
all the taxes, tipping, etc added up quite a bit. Force of paying self pay or valet...no other choice since the place was soooo enormous and self pay was quite a walk away.
Beautiful hotel, large and clean rooms. comfortable bed
took 45 minutes just to check in, parking is a nightmare, was lied to when I first made my reservation, I asked for total cost, and was not told about the "resort fee" and they would not waive it. will NEVER stay here again.
Very luxurious and relaxing place however the layout the hotel grounds can be confusing at first but once we got the hang of it we were telling people how to get around
Whether you valet park or park yourself you have to pay extra and I don't understand the resort fee
The hotel was great! From the time we arrived we were treated excellent. Our bellhop Tyson was awesome! Once he learned we were on our honeymoon he called the front desk and got us upgraded to an atrium view room with a balcony! They were at low occupancy during our stay so he was able to get us upgraded for free. The balcony overlooked the largest atrium. The bed was comfy and clean and the resturants in the hotel were great as well!!
The setting, the atmosphere, the excitement - really great. This was special for me. I got a lovely bottle of wine/Strawberies dipped in Chocolate from a member of staff with a lovely note saying the joy I experienced at being at the Grand Old Opry Hotel also brought her Joy. Thank you so much.
The noisey sports bar with many televisions - the food was rough. The service in that part was below standard.
I wish I could remember the name of the young man working in luggage storage Saturday evening Oct 18. When we lost our keys (and our way) to our room and the check-in line was out the front door, he got us another key within minutes. He said he normally works the front desk. He saved the day since we still haven't figured out what happened to our key card between the car and our room door. I can't express how grateful I was for his willingness to help.
There were six of us. We liked everything. The room the food the shopping the shuttle to town. The atmosphere. They were starting to decorate for Christmas. We would love to come back and see the finished product. No complaints. Possibly another blanket on the bed.
The gardens in the atrium.
The Resort was an extremely beautiful place to stay while in Nashville. It was expensive but worth every dollar. We were on a Special vacation so breathed in every moment of the experience while at Gaylord Operyland.
I didn't like the fact that we had to pay extra for WiFi
The lay out with the seperate but linked gardens was quite unique. The location to local entertainment was perfect, it's large and took us a while to find the places we liked to eat - and those we did not.
The Friday afternoon que to register took us an hour to be registered, then a 2 hour wait for our room to be ready, then another que to get the keys! Then no availability of the room with a balcony we'd booked. This was V disappointing. Staff overworked under pressure hence delays in room readiness
Staff was good
Too expensive, no microwave or refrigerator, ask for king bed got 2 queens, food way over priced.
The gardens were beautiful and the hotel staff was helpful. The staff was quick to answer any concerns or problems we had and were very personable.
We had a bad experience with the valet car service. The first night our car was lost and then the key was lost. We were not charged for that day's service but it did make us late for our show. The elevator to our room was not working the first day. Starbucks was not open at night.
Dining and entertainment, shuttles to grand ole opry.
Beds were great, food was good,
Room smelled like vomit
The massages were great!
The lady at the counter was rude and could not find our reservation. We paid for a view with a balcony and a King size bed, and were put on the 7th floor without much of a view and no balcony. We were on our honeymoon and expected to be treated with more respect!
I did not receive the requested wake-up call.
