Poor shower in bathroom and the matress on the bed was a bit too soft

Good value, nice lobby, friendly staff, Birch Coffee Shop downstairs (very good food and coffee), proximity to everything in NYC. Rooms were a mixture of modern clean furniture with shabby chic fixtures.

I wish there was more artwork on the walls (It was supposed to be a ART hotel). The room appeared clean but the door handle kept falling of the bathroom door.

Staff was friendly and professional. Location was great. Our "family room" was perfect for us - a couple with two young children.

At 8am there was not hot water and it was impossible taking a shower. It was extremely uncomfortable and I didn't even received a complementary breakfast at the Cafe' for this inconvenience. Being in NY for business and not having the possibility to take a shower in the morning it's very unpleasant.

Good location for yellow and green subway lines. Clean room, free WiFi

Cheapest option at time of booking but could do a little better for same money.

Shower only no bath, but paid about 270 dollars ! Is that fair?! The room like 1930's in the movie ! The WiFi, they called free, but very poor to connect. Somebody saying controlled by the company up to 50 people?, something wrong anyway.

second time i've stayed here in 2 different rooms and its a very hard to have a decent shower they allways run either v hot or freezign, flitting between the 2. which after a long light or night or day is frustrating

Very cool hotel, clean and comfortable. The room was large e very nice. The position is terrific and has a beautiful caffeteria down in the lobby. To my personal experiece, it's hard to find something better than this at the same prce in downtown Manhattan.

The bed was not really confortable.

Expensive for the product.

The location was perfect Close to allot of attractions, restaurants, theater, bars, shopping.

We were in a room with only the 1 mirror in the bathroom , we needed another mirror badly.

The staff was excellent, friendly and very helpful.

There was a parade which closed the street in front of the hotel and no one from the hotel told us what to do ahead of time. It was very frustrating figuring out what to do without knowing the options ahead of time.

Good position to visit the city, you can easily get yellow and green subways. Staff is professional and friendly. Room was clean.

The room was too small and it was not easy to adjust the water temperature of the shower.

Funky boutique hotel close to my local activities; moderately priced (for nyc). Very comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and most accommodating.

Funky boutique hotel is not a place to take an elderly parent -- the handicapped accessible room (in an old brick building) was very cold -- no heat!...(and portable heaters are not allowed in nyc hotels), which ruled out taking a shower in the stellar bathroom. Mom slept in her down coat, caught a cold..etc. No coffee or tea maker in the rooms (perhaps, an NYC code?). Hotel lobby furnishings are quite low, which makes it hard for a physically challenged person to sit down/get up from the couch.

Useful extras in the room such as iron, hair dryer and safety box. Comfortable bed.

room was small, old air-conditioner which was very noisy, no kettle in the room. pictures of the hotel in booking websites are deceiving. Room price was not cheap.

With all the construction next door, there were waterbugs in room. Bathroom is way too small and needs a more thorough cleaning, especially the shower. Only one elevator and takes too long if it is a busy time of day

Very good price. Staff was wonderful and very helpful. Room was comfortable and very clean. Centrally located and near the subways that we needed to use.

It would have been nice to have a coffee/tea maker in the room. Other than that, no complaints and would recommend this hotel

We stayed at the hotel only one night and had to leave very early in the morning. The check in has been done very quickly and we've been upgraded to a one-suite studio where we felt ourselves at home. Also the hotel was close to all amenties as we could take benefit of the city by walk, even by night. What a pity we couldn't taste the café at the ground floor as we had to leave the hotel very early to get our flight.

Location

The staff were very efficient, polite and helpful. They let us move rooms without any problems. The hotel was in a good location.

Our first room was very noisy (at night, from the street) and quite cramped. Our second room had a very saggy mattress, was not exceptionally clean and had a very noisy and dangerously hot pipe in the bathroom. Still a lot better than the first room.
