Location, location, location. Staff at reception was very helpful and nice. Room was comfortable and modern. Very clean!
The wifi was often not working... The hotel is still in the middle of refurbishment so only one lift was working.
Really clean bathroom, bed, and staff are very nice.
Smell from renovation of the building, window view, but that's not important to me at all.
free Wifi, location
the slowest elevator on the planet
It's newly renovated...very comfortable bed rooms and marble good sized bathrooms..super helpful and friendly staff. Couldn't recommend more highly..its only flaw is the rather slow lift but that's being replaced in the near future...
The slowness of the lift
Great two night stay with small family. Upgraded to small suite on Fifth floor. Very gracious staff. Perfect location for a holiday escape to New York.
Hot coffee any time. Very clean place.
Window in the bath.It was so old and was moving. I was warring that can fall down. Elevator extremely slow realy not acceptable.
Hot water was out for 2 out of the 3 days I stayed there, and I never heard from the staff sending their apologies or anything.
The location of the hotel and the polite staff was the highlights of this hotel for us. Rooms were cleaned nicely every day, towels and bed sheets were changed and were really clean. We liked the overall experience!
- The window of the room: It is one thing when the hotel doesn't have a nice view, but it's completely different when you cannot even look outside because the window is closed with a hard sheet that cannot be opened and almost doesn't even let light go through. We were desperately trying to get some light in the room. Plus, the windows are almost blowing the cold air into the room - the insulation is not good enough. - The elevator: Anyone who wants to be fast shouldn't book a room in the upper floors of this hotel. It has only one elevator that is really old and slow, plus it takes ages for it to stop at the designated floor. Waiting for 7 minutes in front of the elevator to go down becomes your regular day routine (we measured!) - The sheets: They were really clean and really nice, but hygiene-loving people like me can be disturbed by the fact that the sheets do not close around the blanket. It's like two layers of white sheet, one below and one on top of the blanket everyone uses, and that's it. During the night when you move a lot you get to sleep right under the uncovered blanket, makes it uncomfortable. - The reception: Staff was polite, but unable to tell us the euro to dollar conversion rate by looking at the computer. He said he couldn't, and to this day I have no idea why. Plus, we were unable to get two separate receipts for our stay. We wanted to receive 3+4 day receipts instead of a 7 day receipt, and again, the staff said they just couldn't. It's a bit awkward.
The staff were great. Rooms were clean. Location was good. Accommodated small children. Has free wifi.
The elevator was very slow. Rooms were smaller than the pictures looked. No tea or coffee in the rooms. Wifi was slow.
Excellent and central NoMad location, close to a number of places and attractions including the Empire State Building and te East Village. Clean, renovated room. Roomy modern shower with waterfall shower head. Free tea and coffee in the lobby and good free wifi. iPod/iPhone docking station with plenty of USB charging points was really helpful.
There is definite sound bleed from people in the halls. Rooms are small, not sure how more than one large suitcase would fit in there. My room lacked some attention to detail in the renovations - there was a paint splattered window in the bathroom, and a window that didn't fully close in the bedroom. The cupboard was also oddly designed - not big enough to really fit anything.
Great location. Lobby personnel excellent and helpful. Mac & printer in the lobby really useful. Beds really comfortable.
Really slow elevator, we stayed for 2 weeks and sometimes it was really irritating. Cleaning ladies used vacuum cleaner in our room just once, even though we informed the reception but they kept changing towels almost every day. Two of them didn't speak english, too. Since it's a renovation period, they could change the windowpanes and make them soundproof.
Staff were exceptionally helpful. Location ideal for midtown. The refurbished rooms are great – good bed, smart bathroom and enough storage space. Coffee shop next door easily makes up for the lack of breakfast facilities in the hotel.
The lack of double glazing meant that on the very coldest night (-8C), the heating couldn't quite keep the room warm enough. But not an issue the rest of the time.
Staff, kindly and supportive. The rooms are clean
The building is too cool: heating system and insulation is poor. It is the first time in my life ever I found an hotel with not adeguate heating. The hall needs a revolving door: so that you can sit without a sofa. The windows room do not offer good insulation at all. Refurbishing is in progress so I hope they will change the windows in th room and in the bathroom.
Staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Room small but adequate, clean and well furnished. I would definitely stay there again - it is value for money.
Slow lifts and no coffee/tea maker in room, but the free coffee/tea in the lobby made up for it. A long walk to Times Square for older people and families with young children.
The courteous, attentive, helpful and very welcoming staff.
It was a nice hotel. Rooms were great, exactly what I needed
The elevator. It was the slowest and cramped elevator I have ever encountered in my life
Excellent location with very helpful friendly staff, A great value hotel that I would stay in again, The room was very comfortable and did I mention the LOCATION very central to everything
Very helpful staff
Poor lighting in the parlor
Just one very slow elevator because of construction
No heat in room 307 last week. Arthur
Location. Rate staff. Room. When heat works
- location - king size bed - free wifi - friendly staff
-booked an executive suite but was not really that. Too small for a 2+2 stay -no bar in hotel -on first day we came back at 4.30 pm and our room wasn't done yet
I've stayed here 3 different times so far. Staff is very helpful. Great value, if you're getting one of Booking.com's secret deals. Convenient location, but not much "curb appeal" on that block or directly surrounding neighborhood (say, unlike, Soho, Tribeca, or further uptown). Very good size rooms for NY and the rooms have been tastefully renovated. Good wifi strength and coverage (though might also be influenced by the relative lack of guests).
The elevator is a big issue: it's small, slow, and - because of construction - lower floors' stairs are often blocked off, so you can't just take the stairs. In my last stay, there was a regular sized party that arrived ahead of me, and it took them 2 trips for all of them to get up. I would've been on the 3rd return of the elevator and it would've taken 20+ minutes to get to my room. Luckily, the staff brought me up on the service elevator. The construction sometimes leaves debris in the plumbing, so run the water for a while before usage. And given the relative lack of guests (and the renovation), it can take 5+ minutes to get hot water if it's not 1st thing in the AM.
* Best bang for buck in NYC! Having lived in NYC for many years and then traveled to the city for business for many years since, this is the best value I've ever found in hotels * Recently renovated rooms * Very comfortable beds and Frette linens to boot! * CO Bigelow toiletries * Great location
* No gym * Elevators are incredibly slow. Apparently, these are due to be replaced over coming 6 months as final steps of renovation are completed
Staff was so friendly
The staff were amazing
Too small, they had a desk chair that you sit in because the bed was in the way. The fridge canny even fit a grey goose bottle. Had to use the sink as a cooler.
