Great value hotel Nice new refurbished rooms Free wifi
The lift is VERY slow! Rooms quite small.
The location is perfect. Room is warm, nice and clean. The staffs are sooooooo nice and helpful. Can't say enough about them. I'll definitely stay here if I visit new york again.
Good location and very nice staff
wifi is slow and windows is so old in lower floor
the staff were friendly very helpful the location
the room was freezing the window was broke the curtains were blowing from the wind coming in we had no hot water for 2 days
There is nice style to the ambiance, nice coffee and bagels treat in the morning, nice lounge
Furniture too big for the small rooms, there was a surprise hot water cut-out, which was dealt with nicely enough
Staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Location couldn't be more central - near two separate subway lines. Rooms and bathrooms were just redone.
Building renovations continue, so some rooms can still have drafty windows and get pretty cold. Lobby has yet to be completed, so no resto or bar option in the hotel.
Broken sink, light bulb flashing on and off.
Staff was nice
Small room. Looks bigger in pictures. Elevator was soooo slow, ended up taking stairs down half the time.
Recently restored and still under reconstruction, the hotel is nice, good looking, very central and promises to get better. Staff is ok. However good part ends here...
During the night there was lot of noise coming from some air conditioning fans on the floor below. It went on all night, making our sleep very bad. Controlling the temperature in the room is a mystery: it passed from cold to hot and back to cold without any way to intervene (or better, using the controller has no effect whatsoever). The bathroom temperature was freezing, with no heating since the controller was broken (shower was warm at least!) and had no mirror. The window gave out on an amazing view of a wall. This hotel has good potential but it still needs a lot of work to become good (i.e. finish restoring before opening it!).
Small room for two people. No place for suitcase stc
Great Hotel. Lots of history. Beautiful decor.
No hot water. Staff gave us false information on when the hot water would be back on.
It's a dark hotel, specially the lobby!
The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. The location was excellent, 4 min walk from the empire state building couldn't ask for better...
I didn't have a bad experience
The room was clean and cozy. The lobby area was welcoming with comfortable seating-friendly staff-and really great free coffee. I would stay here again!
Elevators were small and slow
The evening staff was great, so nice and accommodating. The AC broke down and they got us a radiator whithin 5 minutes. The bed sheets, the towles, the shower were all luxurious 5 star like. Locationg is a few minutes walking from the empire state building and about 20 min from times square.
The morning staff were grouchy youngsters and not very helpfull. The AC broke down 2 nights in a row. The windows are extremly old loose wooden frame, we travelled on Febuary and the freezing cold air penetrated the room even though the windows were closed. It took 15 minutes of running water to get to a temp you can shower. The lobby is very dark.
Bed was big and very comfortable, the room was nice and clean. Good location.
The floors above and below were under construction so between the hours of 8am and 6pm there was loud banging and grinding. Woken up every morning and an afternoon nap was totally off the cards. The elevator was extremely slow. On the last day there was no hot water in the hotel, so we were sent to another hotel down the road to take a shower
The hotel in general was good, the staff and the bed were excellent
The room we had was small and the lift was painfully slow. Also it was very noisy in the morning (cleaners banging the doors or speaking loudly), so if you want to stay in bed late maybe not the best hotel.
Location close to metro. According to my wife, good bath amenities. Coffee and Bread to encourage you to face city tours is available free. The mood is cool needing a little bit more building investments.
The attendant could be more sympathic. She didn't check my Genius category and said me late check-out was not available. After I have emphasized my Genius category available benefit, she authorized the late check-out. It means, the Genius category benefit worked well. The elevator needs some king of upgrade and a cold wind in the winter passed through gaps in the old windowns into the room. Windows need investments as well.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The elevator was barely functional (only one in entire hotel), it was overpriced for the value, no room service (no kitchen on site), and room was small
Brand new furniture
No coffee maker or kettle, and only one lift.
elevator super slow like 40 years old floor not so clean noisy night for sleep
Very friendly and helpfull staff. Very comfortable and good location.
There is still a lot of construction going on in the hotel. Slow elevator. Shower gave some problems due to construction. These are all likely to be solved when construction is finished. I Would stay there again
Upgraded to king room, still small but very comfy. Complimentary coffee and tea in reception a very nice touch! Would choose this hotel again
This is a very affordable hotel in a neighborhood that is convenient to everything, most importantly walking distance to Penn Station. The neighborhood itself is not that exciting, but it's easy to get anywhere else you want to go. The rooms are tiny but thoughtfully laid out. The mattress was REALLY comfortable and the shower was nice.
The elevator is so slow and horrible to use that it makes me not want to stay here in the future. Rooms tiny.
Easy access to everything, very nice and helpful staffing!! Newly renovated room.
