I liked that the price was cheaper than the surrounding hotels, however because of this you cannot expect anything but minimum essentials. I liked how close it was to times square as well as madison square gardens and plenty of restaurants. |

The art in the lobby - really nice for guest to come an relax The smell in the hotel stairs leading to the room. The air freshner used for the rooms should be reviewed as it left a stale smell. It was very strong the first night, but got used to it. No mobile phone signal/reception from my room no. 332, so had to go lobby to make calls. |

The staff was courteous and the area was very nice. I liked the decor of the room and lobby it was very trendy and quite artistic The tv reception was a bit poor and the view from the window was not very good. |

Staff were mostly helpful, the hotel is quirky/funky and interestingly decorated and the location is ideal. All in all it is good value for money, especially if booked on the internet, as bookings directly through the hotel are more expensive. Bathrooms are beyond tiny (to the point where you can't actually use the sink with the door closed), internet access is expensive, as is the coffee at the lobby, and front desk staff can be hit-and-miss. |

I like the location of the hotel, the unique lighting on the outside and the art. The beds are too hard. |

The room was very clean and the staff was very nice. There was plenty of storage in the room. The hotel lobby was quite nice. The price was excellent. It was a good value. A good location. |

We were given a small room (after a misunderstanding with the description), but were upgraded to a suite at no additional cost. Staff was very accommodating. |

Perfect location for all attractions in new York, close to ESB and union square. The hotel staff were rude, except the bell boy who compensated for the rudeness of checking in staff. The water temperature was bad and either was too hot or too cold. |

I like the decor. It's quite eclectic. The rooms were nice and clean, showers and other facilities worked great. The staff was quite friendly. It's a great place to stop by when you're in the city and don't want to spend way too much money. For NY the price, was right. Only a few blocks from the 28th subway stop. |

Gershwin isn't corporate-grade, but i like it that way: real art, classic furniture, a sense of faded glory made contemporary and clean. Their hot water system needs a total overhaul. Impossible to have a decent shower with constant fluctuating pressures. |

What i did enjoy was the beautiful art everywhere. That the room had a big window it just smelled like cigarettes really bad you may want to work on that. What i did not like was I reserved on line. It was $103. When I did the credit card payment on line it stated $ 140.00 When I received my bank statement on line it was $163.00 I do not understand how it went from $103-163.00 Can you please send me a breakdown. |

shower very good. good location just off 5th Avenue room extremely basic no tea/coffee facilities in room high price to pay for practically nothing. think the hotel needs a general refurbishment to bring it up to date (especially rooms). No point in complaining dont think anything will be done. |

Location was excellent. The Jazz ambience was lovely. I think more could be made of what the hotel is about and really bring it into the new millenium as a leading hotel, the basics are there but it will soon be left behind unless it is updated. Shabby chic is trendy but when it becomes just shabby, its not. There was no tea/coffe facilities in the room. The room was meant to be a superior twin room but we got a very small and basic twin room yet paid the same amount which was a little disappointing and I wouldn't call the room superior. |

The hotel is located in the middle of Manhattan and therefore is a great jumping off point for the tourist side of things. All the big local attractions are withing easy reach especially if you take the time to get used to the subway system. The showers are terrible, hardly any water, slow, running hot then cold and the plumbing makes huge banging sounds about 3am and 6 pm. There are no other facilities - even though they seem set up for a bar it does not operate...they have a great space downstairs but don't use it. The hotel has a generally dirty feel...although the maid for our room was brilliant. |
