It is cosy and has nice atmosphere, would be good option for an extended stay.
It is 2 rooms in someones basement. Its a nice basement, but with no front desk, relying on calling someone to check in, and a position that is less the ideal, i wouldn't recommend this casual travelers.
Very welcoming at home atmosphere. Host was up and waiting even with my post midnight arrival. Bed was comfortable and my best sleep the entire vacation. Would definitely stay again.
Can not say this is a dislike for me as I am used to traveling alone & often being the only woman in a group but this place seems to be a preferred place for men and although women's quarters are seperate bath, kitchen etc are all shared so a woman alone may not be comfortable if no other women are staying over.
The junk car in the drive way should have given me pause. There was to be someone on duty all the time and there wasn't. The main part of the hostel had a bad odor, but we were to spend the night in the tree house room. This turned out to be an actual tree house, that was located in the back part of the lot. A latter to climb, unfinished walls with exposed wiring. No electricity due to a resent rain storm. Of the three mattress on the floor, one was wet from the rain. Part of the roof was corrugated fiberglass. Neighbors dog whining all night as well as loud cars running through the neighborhood. We were to spend the next night there. The next morning we got up, deciding not to spend another night but couldn't find anyone to talk to about it and get a refund for the second night. We left messages on the hostel's phone but never got a call back. If this review saves someone from spending time there, the money we lost will have been well spent.
the care taker took very good care of us!
