Clean room, channels all worked
Room a bit small
The suite 35 was $168 + tax/resort fee for champ. Weekend when everyone else was charging double. Suite looked brand new & very large. Clean!! Great "rain" shower. Great pancakes & fresh oj at dupars. Outside on Fremont the kooks usually stay away from the gg bar side too!
Location was great, right on Fremont Street.
Room was too small. Bathroom was dated and in poor repair. Air conditioning was not working. Had to open windows for cool air and then couldn't sleep due to noise from Fremont Street.
Valet is excellent $25 Blackjack area was good.
The loud constant music that accompanies the Dancers. Also, on a prior visit; I got ripped off on a shake to go. Paid $6 for a medium paper cup shake. When I complained, no one cared. The waitress shrugged her shoulders and the Shift Lead cared less. When I said I was going to file a complaint, then they cared. Lousy service from an uncaring staff.
Place was right at edge of Fremont experience. Would go back w/o kids to see lots of cleavage.
Small and a bit stuffy. Accommodation request was not considered when checking get in.
Staff was professional and kind. My room was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the stay and will return to this hotel when I come back to Las Vegas.
Clean and well renovated rooms. Small hotel with old Las Vegas charm and history. Great value and highly recommended.
They charged more than $20 per night for the dreaded "resort fee". Wi-fi and parking are already free so this can only be described as what it is...gouging.
location, bed, casino
2nd floor rooms facing fremont street are awful, noisy and bathrooms are old fashioned
Great location at Fremont Street Experience. The restaurant is good.
Location rt on Fremont St - only thing didn't like was room very small and our view was the roof . Staff and hotel cafe excellent
the fact that security wouldn't let the kids walk through the casino to get to their hotel room. they made them walk outside in the cold all the way around the building. needless to say we left and went to the Plaza where we were treated like guests should be.
Room overlooked a concert and ziplining. We booked in September. We were told no other rooms available. To mitigate the resort fee was waived.
I have stayed in this hotel twice now each time I had a great experience, this trip the reserved rooms weren't available when I got there, they provided an upgrade to keep me from waiting in the lobby since the reserved rooms were not ready, with out an additional charge to the already low rate I had been lucky to find online. The rooms were clean, the cleaning staff respected my privacy and came back after I had left for the day even if it was later in the afternoon. The food and service in the Du-par restaurant was excellent, fast and friendly. When my daughter ordered something that once she tasted it she didn't care for, it was replaced quickly and without any fuss or embarrassment to her with something she loved. I love that the hotel has such history, and is on part of the Fremont experience, my daughter loved the light show and the street performers, since she was too young to stay in the casino it provided a taste of Vegas, with out the hassle of the strip.
I didnt like the resort fee, which I understand did include the wifi, but I didn't make use of any of the other "bonuses" it would have been cheaper to pay the daily rate for the wifi. I didn't like that the carpet in the hallway on the 3rd floor smelled like mildew, it really detracted from the overall cleanliness of the hotel. I didn't go on any of the other floors, so I am not sure if it was just that floor that had the bad smell or if all the carpets smelled like they had gotten wet and were not dried properly. I was very concerned about the air quality and if there may be mold growing in the padding that could endanger the health of guests and employees alike. The maintenance team should really check into that you wouldn't want an outbreak of mold induced illness to ruin the reputation of the hotel.
the room have no TV program . noisy out side,
wasn't informed accurately by staff member the cost of international phone calls to canada and later was charged much more for calls after checkout and when I contacted a management staff member was told i should have read in the fine print in check in documents. When I questioned why staff could not inform accurately when asked part of charges were refunded but lrft a bad taste re customer satisfaction and service
Liked it all, room was quiet and safe for a single female traveler.
Would have liked a mini frig.
Golden Gate is a nice historic hotel, located in Downtown Las Vegas. It is clean and comfortablem has a casino and good restaurant. Close to Fremont Street attractions and bars.
There is a trick with pricing. When booking price appears to be attractive. When arriving however clients are charged a high "resort fee" of 23 USD which exceeds the room price. On the top they block 100 USD on your card as a deposit. All of this is not sufficiently well communicated during the booking process
The location -- we've done the Strip before and I've stayed out in North Vegas before. We both liked Fremont (mostly).
The room was a bit small, but I find it hard to hold it against the place since it's historic and it was plenty big for a night or two.
Great place to stay, staff was very nice! I would definitely make reservation again!
Great location with the Fremont St experience literally at the doorstep. We stayed in a suite, which was excellent value for money over a weekend, plenty of room, we enjoyed the Keurig coffee maker and bathroom amenities. Suite was located on the back of the property so no issues with noise. Loved the on-site cafe, DuPars, for breakfast and shrimp cocktails.
I will stay here for now on. Loved the room - 1 king suite, very nice
Location, free parking, cleanliness of room, DuPars restaurant
Tiny size of bathroom.
The valet was nice, secure and helpful.
Check your bill, not given rate. Cancelled reservation without any notifications. Overcharged reservation fees, overcharged resort fee, overcharged room rate. No cleanliness, semen on curtains, yellow head stain on pillows when arrived and after asked to wash linens. Room is no bigger then the queen bed, cannot open bathroom door while on toliet.
Was a room with a clean bed... had a working toilet and tp
attitude at check in.... no one to ans phone when I called asking for free parking lot info.... Free parking cost me to exit !!! so NOT free... Valet pking claimed free, WHERE is that noted ?.... room clock still on summer time... Will not stay here again !
