Self serve free parking. Quiet location
Outdated. Understaffed. Only one receptionist to check people in. Staff not knowledgable about activities for business that day. Kept sending us to the wrong area.
Pool area with jacuzzis and bar. Large spacious room with king size bed. Haven nightclub just downstairs.
Normal talking could be heard through the walls and doors. Never experienced such thin walls before!
Resturants, activities, comfort, value, friendly staff were all excellent.
The 17th floor housekeeping staff decided 8:45 A. M. was a good time to shout the days plans back & forth in the hallway. After late night celebrating B-Day and enjoying the casino, we would have liked to sleep a little later.
if you don't smoke it is overpowering
Well, it is really a beatiful hotel and casino, I recommend. But! The staff is not really kind when you ask for help. If you use public transportation they would never call the jitney for you, do it on your own somehow. And if you have that crazy idea that you fly from Atlantic City to somewhere, never do that!! It's almost impossible to go to the airport if you do not have at least $200 to spend. Rather go back to NYC by bus you go there, that's worth it.
The cocktail lounge was really nice, live music most of day & late hour band. We loved the view from out window. Staff was great and room service wonderful. The pool was very lovely and nice view.
The glass door opened out. Tub was slanted at back end where you access tub - no handrail, nothing to grab in or out. A rubber mat was provided but really doesn't help the design and safety.
Location, cleanliness, resturaunts, casino, staff...
paper thin walls!!! very annoying to hear people next door and people in the hallways all night!!
Good and exciting experience.
The view from my room was lovely.
There were tiny little bugs flying around mainly in the bathroom. My boyfriend and I got bite on our very 1st night there. Room service charged $4 for an 8oz off brand water bottle which isn't enough to quench an adults thirst your better off buying the Voss water for $7 in the room or going downstairs to the gift shop to purchase water or any other beverage. We are at the Grotti the food was bad and the drink even worse. The bathroom in our room leaked which is probably where all the little bugs that bite us came from. There wasn't enough action at the casino.
The convenience of not having to leave 5 he property.
The check out time was about an hour too early. Not enough time to sleep off your liquor. And the smoking rooms should be on higher floors. And the buffet was horrible!!!
The room was ok the food was fair
The staff was rude The prices where higher then needed to be and there casino hardly had any tables open past 12am it's like they only cater to seniors
It was comfortable and clean
The bathroom was poorly laid out. I would prefer to stay on the boardwalk for easier access to the beach.
I like the view from our room , the pool , the bars and restaurants for great price.
I didnt like the location , because every time we should to take a taxi to the center. The taxi drivers were rude, we didnt like that the bars and restaurants were closing so early through the week .
The room itself was very clean and neat. The beds were very comfortable, a little noisy in the morning but wasn't unbearable. Most of the staff was very accommodating and friendly. The pool is absolutely gorgeous and the view was spectacular! Grotto the Italian restaurant was delicious!
I was told that if I did early check in my room would be ready between 2-2:30, the room wasn't ready until close to 4 which was frustrating. The lady I first dealt with at check in was very rude and unfriendly, and she told me I had conjoining rooms which I actually did not.
1. the rooms had fairly new TV and beds. 2. bathrooms were clean and had good lighting. 3. the view of the harbor was great
1. refrigerator did not work well. I did make a comment to the hotel on the first day, but nothing was done. 2. walls did not have the sound insulation I was hoping to have. I could hear conversations in the adjacent rooms and in the hall ways.
Beatiful hotel. May have just be better if it was located closer to the boardwalk
Pool area and staff were wonderful valet parking inside staff were great poker room staff was great
valet parking greeter was surly and unfriendly reception desk was not friendly or welcoming
GN has a very courteous and professional staff.
Adjacent room had a couple who blasted their music trying to mask their very loud intimate activities. We were given another room. Left my new expensive sandals in the first room and never recovered them, after working with GN staff and manager, but to no avail... The new room had an older couple next door, judging by their voices. The woman must have been sitting next to adjoining doors, talking non-stop and in a high pitch at 1:30 AM, and this went on for an hour. I called security, but they arrived a bit too late.
Nice casino, good retrofit done to modernize the rooms. Nice restaurants.
The walls are very thin and you can hear EVERYTHING from outside and your neighbours. It is very annoying. Hotel staff is not too friendly or helpful at times.
I enjoyed the Thursday morning yoga class. We did not see a show this time but maybe next time.
I did not like sitting by the pool with lounges one on top of another. I also feel that a smoking area would be a plus since you're so close to other people a non smoker like myself does not want to be so close to smokers.
The hotel was great
You had to drive to the beach. I though there was a beach close enough to walk to, but we had to drive and find parking at one of the other casinos by the boardwalk. But other then that everything was great
Upon checking in, I was charged double for my stay. I was told my credit card was declined and to get a new card. I went to a different teller and my card went through just fine for her. I was told that all I owed was the $100.00 security deposit since I booked and payed online a month prior, and that I would be getting it back at check out. While checking my bank account that night I saw that $202.00 was taken out of my account, no one working there could tell me why and I was told to call my bank and ask. The $202.00 was someone back in my account the next morning. We stayed until Friday, after getting home I checked my account again and the $202.00 was again taken out. I called the Golden Nugget, was hung up on twice and then was told I would be getting $80.00 back and that I owed $122.00 for our second night, then told to call my bank again and again hung up on. I am still waiting for my security deposit back and no one has been able to tell me why so much was taken out of my account.
The staff was very rude and no one seemed to know what they were doing.
Excellent service - very friendly and good security Good choice of eateries to suit all tastes Lovely setting on the marina Great pool area The Deck bar was very good with live music every night Drinks were not excessively expensive
All casino games had high minimum bets At the pool bar people were allowed to sit on the cushioned chairs in wet swimwear meaning if you chose to sit down in normal clothing you could get very damp - most hotels do not allow wet swimwear in the bar areas. We travelled from NYC on the Greyhound - it was a shame the bus did not stop there as it seemed to stop at most other hotels.
