I was first checked into a tiny smelly room that was yet to be cleaned before being moved to one outside. This was slightly bigger but the house keeping staff talked loudly outside the room at all hours. You can hear everything from inside the rooms. The sink leaked all over the floor whenever it was full.
the location was convenient.

It was clean and bright

Interior room. No view
Location. Safe property. Clean room. Bed nice

The description of the hotel in the website makes you think it's a better place. It's way too noisy and so cold by night, there's no heating in the room. the room was too small and there was a funny smell. As it's located in a main avenue then you can hear so many car and busses as tye glasses are not against noises.
The location is very good, there are many busses and street cars routes around.

very noisey stay, lots of street noise and come interesting goings on. Front desk person was pretty attentitive to keeping us safe. Had to call security one night due to drunk neighboors.
clean rooms, centrally located. Great location to get on bus or BART.

there was no toner for the photo booth :)
great location near city centre, basic but tasteful facilities with nice green ethos, friendly staff and free wifi. Loved the water recycling toilet!

No air con On a busy road
Cool vibe Inexpensive Friendly staff

Can be noisy if room faces main road - ask for a room that doesn't face this. Expensive for what you get, but that's San Fran!
Nice eco-hotel, easy to find, close to Bart station, clean, good wif-fi, great hamburger place over the road with good veggie options!

(1) Some clumsy design choices -- i.e., bathroom door literally could not close because heavy headboard in bedroom was in its way -- no one thought to fix that? I did not want to go to sleep with a toilet just a few feet away from my bed; (2) The room was FREEZING in mid-Feb 2015 with an air system that did not work and a small space heater that barely worked to warm the space. I literally slept in a sweatshirt/hoodie (which I was lucky to have) and had to ask for an extra blanket for the bed which had insufficient bedding; (3) The first room I checked into smelled...the second one was better but freezing and the bathroom door could not close. I shouldn't have to move more than 2x just to find an acceptable room in a hotel with lots of available rooms on any given day; (4) I originally considered staying for days but after that experience, I checked out the very next morning to avoid the exhaust or hassle. I arrived late from a long flight with layovers that day and I really wish I could have better things to say about this hotel as I really adored the concept. However, my experience was that the staff is AWESOME and they do their best within their limitations, that even the eco-friendly concept (the whole reason I chose them) is GREAT, but all in all, it was a bit rough around the edges. Lastly: (5) Breakfast -- I'm not fond of the idea that you literally have to go to another hotel across the street just to have breakfast in that hotel's restaurant? That's the first time I've ever seen that in any hotel I've visited anywhere in the world, even hostels. I believe Good Hotel should try to get some in-house meal system going if they can. Going to to other hotel actually exposed me to the very idea that other options in the area were available and I'm more likely now to try that other hotel on a future visit to SF.
Extraordinarily friendly staff. They were some of the sweetest, most professional hotel staff I've ever met. Great breakfast nearby (albeit somewhat oddly, at a different hotel's restaurant). A great 'concept', overall, that still needs tweaks.

I could not close some of the windows
How clean it was
January 27, 2015
water trickled too slowly and scarce (understood that it's for drought but we felt we wasted more water washing and keeping the faucet on longer) bed was a bit hard room is a bit cold (unwelcoming) not enough parking why do you charge customers for a parking fee when they park in your own facility? bad for business :-(
its a few blocks away from our event competitively priced modern design friendly staff own parking lot but if you get there too late you have to park in sister hotel which is a bit of a walk

That most of the rooms have a pretty healthy internet and some rooms have horrible internet it needs to be fixed .
I like how the staff treats you like family.

Parking is terrible.
Hotel is more of a motel. Decent quality and free wifi!
December 7, 2014
A little stark but covered most needs
Cost and cleanliness. And slightly nerdy porlandia vibe.

Very thin walls and floors so u here all ur neighbours , having fun, screaming , snorting.....
November 23, 2014
Low quality, small rooms, small bed, no parking. Really expensive
Location in not far of city center. I can not find notingh cheaper.

Service was friendly. room was clean and big enough for 2 people. Linens clean.

Clean, good parking good location nice staff
October 21, 2014
The location. 7th is one of the noisiest streets in SF. Cars, trucks, shouting panhandlers had me up 4 nighte in a row. The price: for the money we pais, we expected the four seasons, but got a motel 6
I liked the bikes and the photobooth. Staff was ok.

Nothing really, I found the Good Hotel to be "great".
Hotel is a short (15 minute), flat walk to Moscone. Area is not too bad for San Fran. The room was extremely clean, comfortable and quiet.
October 19, 2014
My room had a funky smell and it was quite warm even with the windows open. I tried to turn on the fan but it only had one speed and I thought it was going to pull the ceiling down it was so fast. Not the most luxurious room I have stayed in for $450 a night, but when the city is sold out the rates are going to be high.
I was attending Dreamforce and the location was within a good walking distance to the Moscone Center. I wouldn't say it was the best neighborhood, but I didn't feel unsafe. The staff were very nice and helpful. My room had everything I needed.
October 16, 2014
This is a very very basic hotel. There is no zircon, no food, no bar, no facilities apart from rooms and a (small) reception desk. The walls are very thin so you can easily hear what is going on in the room next door.
There was a bed and it was reasonably clean.
October 9, 2014
- the breakfast room isn't really a room but a hallway - the rooms are tiny
- the style - cleanliness - politeness of the staff
October 5, 2014
Room pictures look young, fresh and friendly on the web...my first room at parking level was of miserable quality (used carpet, old paint on walls,..). Second room still above the parking a bit better...
Quite close to Union Square and Moscone Center
