Location was good, inside our room was clean. Wifi was good for first 2 days. Manager tried to be helpfull but was limited in abilities at times.
Stairs, corridors were very dirty, wifi stopped after 2 days. Less than basic kitchen supplies in the room. TV did not work. Limited hours of service making having problems hard.
Large space and the bed
Not clean, spiders and cocqroaches A bit far from the center No manned reception in the weekend
What a miserable place. After six o’clock you get an email telling you how to get in. No one had warned me, so it was just lucky that my iPhone can get emails. If the hotel planned (as it seems it does) to have no one on duty after six, they should have alerted me at booking and asked if I wanted information on how to get in then, or later by text or email. The entire place smelled horrible, with a sickly sweet odor that was very strong. At first, I thought someone had sprayed a strong deodorizer everywhere. Later I wondered if it was roach or rat poison. Terrible smell. WiFi didn’t work. When I complained in the morning, a very pleasant young man told me to take my chair into the hall to see if I could get it there. Sometimes I could. The bathroom was clean, but there was no washcloth. There were two towels. One was damp and the other was dirty. My room was called a “deluxe studio”. There was a kitchen, which contained: 1 fork, 1 knife, 1 spoon, 1 corkscrew (but no wine glass), 1 bowl, 1 tea kettle. No coffee cups, no sponge. There was a refrigerator that had not recently been defrosted, with almost 3 inches of frost. I put a salad in the regular part of the refrigerator overnight, and it was an ice cube the next morning. The carpets in hall were horribly stained and filled with lint and litter. Nothing had been vacuumed in a long time. If your shoulders or hips (or suitcase) are more than 14 inches wide, you will have to turn sideways to get into the room from its entrance. All night long the heating system growled constantly. Don’t even think about staying here.
Shame on You Gracie Inn! There was a solvent leak from workers outside that invaded the building. It was noticed the second night I was there and during the day on Friday the building air was cleared. The next two nights with no one to call, there were fumes throughout the building. I called and said "really?" you are just going to leave us all trapped here with these fumes?" I had all the windows open and the fan going and couldn't sleep at all. TV didn't work (no one around to help) food left in fridge from previous guests, dirty, etc. The Inn had the audacity to send me an email saying they welcomed my comments and are always trying to do better. hrummph!!! If they want to do better, read the reviews. I agreed with all of them. It was the worst place I have ever stayed in!!!!
It's a great location for our needs. We feel very comfortable there!
The bed was comfortable the location was great the price was right. There was an elevator. The cafe on the corner of the street had a great breakfast menu and good food.
There was only one cup in the kitchen, the bath took a day to drain after a morning shower. The tv did not work the whole time we were there. The room was not what was advertised. The whole place could do with some sprucing up
The TV set broke now
- we get the crib for baby for free - the personnel were decent - nice places around for breakfast and dinner
- totally untidy room (dust under the bed, closets, unclean bathroom rugs). No option for baby to crawl. - very noisy bed, you couldn't move by an inch without making huge noise - room cleaning extra paid (unbelievable at this price) - wouldn't recommend even at 50% of the price - TV not working - untight windows (cold during cool nights) -
Central location on Manhatten
We arrived at 8:30 pm and there was no one to register with. We found the room key in a cupboard, after forcing open the front door. Room was very dirty, TV did not work, kitchen appliances were broken, and utensils were missing. Bed had hair on the sheets and creaked badly.
Location - was next to Gracie Restaurant and the hospital.
TV did not work - satellite didn't come on Bathroom had no toilet paper WIFI didn't work price of room was way over priced - other guest paid way less than I did for the same room. Sent a message to the staff at night and never got a response. Someone was knocking on my door at 2:30am screaming to let them in for about 12 mins before they finally went away.
Larry on the desk was incredibly understanding and helpful
Filthy room Terrible wifi signal Broken TV Bathroom disgusting Problems gaining access Dirty walls Dust bunnies
Location is very good, not very far from central park. We liked design of the apartment, large windows in the second floor, balkony, big beds, much space.
The apartment wasn't clean. Baby cot was dirty and disgusting. There were almost no dishes in the kitchen. We asked for a pot and pan and got only a pan on our second day and we didn't get any pot. Towels were no clean.
Dirty Linen Stains on Walls Used bandages on floor Photographs did not match room we were given No staff in building No Parking
Only thing which might make me go back there is the daily rate.
I arrived around 4pm at the hotel but there was nobody to help/guide. I could not reach anybody at the given numbers as well. It took me some time to figure out the system on my own. When I checked with them, their response was "We sent you the after hours instruction ...". The WiFi did not work (connection timed out as just 2 bars) and TV remote did not have batteries. Towels in the bathroom were not folded, so could not be sure if they were clean or used. :-( Also, I checked-in alone and assumed that I would not be charged for the guest (which was added by mistake at the time of booking), but there was no option to change it anymore.
There was one pretty empty roll of toilet paper, one towel for two guests and very dirty bath room floor. Hair on floor. Just felt dirty and old. Was given a hard time because credit card had not gone through and told they would only take cash. Persuaded them to take credit card. Would not recommend.
Employees are unkind. There isn't a single folder to help tourist to move on in NY. I need to ask them to change the towels. The mirror of the room was almost fell down on the ground and they said we can do nothing the mirror will be keep on the wall. They don't really care about theis clients.
The lack of maid service, the no breakfast provided, the lack of TV service, the smallness of the room, the outdated kitchen facilities, the dirt in the bathroom, the disinterested staff, the smell of marijuana in the evenings. I want a partial refund!!
Location and price
Room not clean enough
Didn't work , Wi-fi , bed horrible , kitchen , the view they lie because mostly of rooms faced with the wall of another building , Tv didn't work at all, the noise if central AC of building near of my window , they charge me for one hour more 40 doll , no breakfast in bed and also no one ask as if something missing or do u have any problem or they didn't show me the room only the key on my hand . I don't recomend .
The location is safe and you have a good connection to the city centre and walking distance to central park. The room facilities are ok. Fridge, oven, microwave were in good condition although we had to buy our own cups and cutlery because they weren't any in the cupboard.
The room was dirty! When we arrived there was a big layer of dust everywhere and a lot of dirt on the carpets. The bathroom floor was covered with hair as well. They say in the brochure in the room they clean everyday, do the dishes, dispose the garbage - none of it happened. They only make the bed that's it while the rest stays dirty (especially the bathroom). What we found very disgusting was that they put the one (!) towel each of us got (no facial towels or anything) that was laying on the floor (as they state it on a sign if you wish to get a new one) unwashed back on the hook (we realised it happened more than once because they were still wet in the evening). The staff if present is not friendly at all. We rushed to be there before 6 to stick to the office hours but it was already closed and without internet connection we wouldn't have known how to get into our room. It's not possible to store your luggage there after check-out even if it's only for a couple of hours. This is a big problem because there are no public lockers in NYC after 9/11 and they should know this. All in all, this is a budget accomodation but they shouldn't advertise services or call themselves a hotel if they are worse than every hostel we've ever seen. If you bring your own towel and a vacuum cleaner it's maybe an affordable place to stay for exploring the city.
Photos of the rooms have been photoshopped big time !
Staff was great but they always seemed "out" of it. The room was nice and cozy but not tip-top clean. The price was great though and the location was superb. Overall, I definitely recommend to anyone.
Could you some elbow grease in the appearance and cleanliness department. It has a lot of potential to be such a nice little BB or hotel.
Great location in the upper east side, nice stay in a cosy suite room, the staff very helpful for all our requests!
That I had a room to sleep in for 6 hours and slept well.
There was no information provided when I booked the room that there were basically little to no services. When I tried to call to tell them I would arrive much later than planned, there was no answer and no call back. My daughter was meeting me there to spend the night and I told her to go ahead and just show up. When she got there a sign said to call a name and number after 6:00 p.m. She called and the person called back and told her that the key was under the mat and our room keys were in a china hutch. They claim to be a "Bed & Breakfast" but I saw the forms for breakfast filled out by the residents at 9:00 a.m. the next day but there was no food or anyone to speak with as I left. I was very disappointed in the lack of communication. Obviously for good reason. They don't spend any money on their services or upgrades for their rooms... Check w/Air B&B next time!
