Location! The neighborhood has some great choices in places to eat, the room was just what we needed, the kitchen was a bonus, everything worked as needed. Plus the managee was great!
All the terrible uninformed reviews.
Staff was very helpful. Took care of my every need. Bed was comfy and WiFi was fast
The noise from outside. No control over heat.
Location, easy check in.
The room was very cozy. And staff very helpful and pleasant.
The elevator and hallway rugs need to be cleaned.... had an rancid odor. Other wise. I found my stay to be very nice. No parking. But that's NY :-)
Needs a paint job
The bed was nice
Clogged sink, dirty floors and tub,
Great location since almost no other hotels in area. You get what you pay for. Half price compared to other Upper Manhattan Hotels. Friendly Staff. just a block from the beautiful East River Park.
Small, old and dated but that's what you have to expect for the price and location.
Location is good
Hotel needs money spent on it, general cleanliness is not good.
The fact that coffee was complimentary. The wy fi was fine and the bed was comfortable.
More trouble could be taken with the cleanness of the floors.
I didnt get to stay there. Stay at The Belvedere Hotel on 48 and 9th. Great place just a little bit more.
Nobody to let us in. No key. No one to call that our plane was late. The other customers said it sucked and they would never stay there again and we should be happy about it. I did not get my money back even though we were there and they were not. Suck.
The room was fairly spacious and the bed comfortable.
Fittings were in poor condition, blinds unmatched and broken. Bath had no plug. Hall carpets grubby!
Someone gave a drunken englishman ,who had lost the keys to his room, the keys to our room so when we arrived, he was sleeping in our room. Also, they gave us a lesser room than we pre-paid for and no one was around to help us figure out what was going on when we arrived. There was only a phone number that went to voicemail.
Disorganized with keys that work in front door. Very very old building that the owners have not improved or really fixed up. Extremely depressing place.
Smelled like mothballs. Internet did not work. Photos atenot accurate. Elevator smelled like cheap perfume.
two blocks from the metro and lexington av. . Easy to reach central park in 10min walking. The two guys at the reception were really nice and helpful
Got a great last minute deal. Spacious room Check in was simple. shows what it would be like to live in a small apartment in nyc
Bed sheets had hairs from previous guest. Could not get tv to work. no dish towel nor paper towel in kitchen
Room size. Excellent service from staff.
Construction noise outside. Sound of bird outside window.
Location was good, inside our room was clean. Wifi was good for first 2 days. Manager tried to be helpfull but was limited in abilities at times.
Stairs, corridors were very dirty, wifi stopped after 2 days. Less than basic kitchen supplies in the room. TV did not work. Limited hours of service making having problems hard.
Large space and the bed
Not clean, spiders and cocqroaches A bit far from the center No manned reception in the weekend
What a miserable place. After six o’clock you get an email telling you how to get in. No one had warned me, so it was just lucky that my iPhone can get emails. If the hotel planned (as it seems it does) to have no one on duty after six, they should have alerted me at booking and asked if I wanted information on how to get in then, or later by text or email. The entire place smelled horrible, with a sickly sweet odor that was very strong. At first, I thought someone had sprayed a strong deodorizer everywhere. Later I wondered if it was roach or rat poison. Terrible smell. WiFi didn’t work. When I complained in the morning, a very pleasant young man told me to take my chair into the hall to see if I could get it there. Sometimes I could. The bathroom was clean, but there was no washcloth. There were two towels. One was damp and the other was dirty. My room was called a “deluxe studio”. There was a kitchen, which contained: 1 fork, 1 knife, 1 spoon, 1 corkscrew (but no wine glass), 1 bowl, 1 tea kettle. No coffee cups, no sponge. There was a refrigerator that had not recently been defrosted, with almost 3 inches of frost. I put a salad in the regular part of the refrigerator overnight, and it was an ice cube the next morning. The carpets in hall were horribly stained and filled with lint and litter. Nothing had been vacuumed in a long time. If your shoulders or hips (or suitcase) are more than 14 inches wide, you will have to turn sideways to get into the room from its entrance. All night long the heating system growled constantly. Don’t even think about staying here.
Shame on You Gracie Inn! There was a solvent leak from workers outside that invaded the building. It was noticed the second night I was there and during the day on Friday the building air was cleared. The next two nights with no one to call, there were fumes throughout the building. I called and said "really?" you are just going to leave us all trapped here with these fumes?" I had all the windows open and the fan going and couldn't sleep at all. TV didn't work (no one around to help) food left in fridge from previous guests, dirty, etc. The Inn had the audacity to send me an email saying they welcomed my comments and are always trying to do better. hrummph!!! If they want to do better, read the reviews. I agreed with all of them. It was the worst place I have ever stayed in!!!!
It's a great location for our needs. We feel very comfortable there!
The bed was comfortable the location was great the price was right. There was an elevator. The cafe on the corner of the street had a great breakfast menu and good food.
There was only one cup in the kitchen, the bath took a day to drain after a morning shower. The tv did not work the whole time we were there. The room was not what was advertised. The whole place could do with some sprucing up
The TV set broke now
- we get the crib for baby for free - the personnel were decent - nice places around for breakfast and dinner
- totally untidy room (dust under the bed, closets, unclean bathroom rugs). No option for baby to crawl. - very noisy bed, you couldn't move by an inch without making huge noise - room cleaning extra paid (unbelievable at this price) - wouldn't recommend even at 50% of the price - TV not working - untight windows (cold during cool nights) -
