Great value for money in Upper East Side. While facilities might look old, they provide great comfort for low price. Location is Superb.
There is nothing to like about this horrible place.
Everything. It was dirty filthy never seen the staff till it was time for checkout. The beds weren't made and the towels weren't changed. The tv was just a couple inches bigger then my phone and the bed was horrible. They lie about serving breakfast and that the bed is a pillowtop. I wouldn't walk on the floor without my shoes even in socks bevsuse that is how disgusting it was. There was dust and spiderwebs everywhere and no one to speak to since noone is ever there.
Nice cozy room in a good location.
I wasn't able to get into the hotel when I arrived late and it took some time of standing outside in the cold before eventually a resident rescued me.
Rudolph and Ruben were nice. The bed was good.
Filthy. Dirty. Old. The smell was horrible. Light didnt work. It was cold. Windows didnt work as they should - and i wouldnt touch Them really couse they where so filthy.
The location.The old world charm!
The bed linen needs to be upgraded. There was no cover for the coverlet.
The location, friendly staff, clean
Lost heat one night but was fixed in the morning, dated but nice location
lack of heat,no breakfast
1950's era condition
Staff is very nice, Really tries to help. The rooms are clean.
the rooms do not live up to the pictures of the web. Our first assigned room was totally unacceptable and we felt we had been mislead. However, after some complaints, we were moved to a very confortable space. Accomodations in the kitchenette are minimal.
Didn't like anything
The room was too way too hot! The weather outside was below freezing but the heat was on to high. It couldn't be regulated and you couldn't open the windows. It made sleeping very difficult. WiFi didn't work in my room.
If you want a big box hotel experience in NYC, this should not be your choice. This is a small, delightful place for folks who want to be a part of the real NYC. Gracie Hotel is in a lovely area that gives you access to a neighborhood complimented by excellent restaurants and great cafes and delis. A stones throw to the East river and Carl Schurz park, this is a rare find with a unique old feel, where the sun can still shine on the sidewalk pavement.
This is a great old place, lovingly restored with many extras including an in-room library of books and CDs and as many toiletries as a 5 star hotel. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. A good place to stay only a quick walk from Central Park and the Natural,History Museum.
Karen was awesome got us set on the subway system as well as a great grocery. Had the necessities of home allowed us to cook breakfast.felt secure and checked in late with ease. Would stay again bed a little squeaky but if you the important part is to experience New York location and tips from staff allowed us to get a restful sleep and be on the go!!!
Squeaky bed ... Warm first night but Karen adjusted the boiler so the temperature was more comfortable!
Location! The neighborhood has some great choices in places to eat, the room was just what we needed, the kitchen was a bonus, everything worked as needed. Plus the managee was great!
All the terrible uninformed reviews.
Staff was very helpful. Took care of my every need. Bed was comfy and WiFi was fast
The noise from outside. No control over heat.
Location, easy check in.
The room was very cozy. And staff very helpful and pleasant.
The elevator and hallway rugs need to be cleaned.... had an rancid odor. Other wise. I found my stay to be very nice. No parking. But that's NY :-)
Needs a paint job
The bed was nice
Clogged sink, dirty floors and tub,
Great location since almost no other hotels in area. You get what you pay for. Half price compared to other Upper Manhattan Hotels. Friendly Staff. just a block from the beautiful East River Park.
Small, old and dated but that's what you have to expect for the price and location.
Location is good
Hotel needs money spent on it, general cleanliness is not good.
The fact that coffee was complimentary. The wy fi was fine and the bed was comfortable.
More trouble could be taken with the cleanness of the floors.
I didnt get to stay there. Stay at The Belvedere Hotel on 48 and 9th. Great place just a little bit more.
Nobody to let us in. No key. No one to call that our plane was late. The other customers said it sucked and they would never stay there again and we should be happy about it. I did not get my money back even though we were there and they were not. Suck.
The room was fairly spacious and the bed comfortable.
Fittings were in poor condition, blinds unmatched and broken. Bath had no plug. Hall carpets grubby!
