Concierge was very helpful and gave great recommendations
Front desk staff was cold, unfriendly, not welcoming, a bit snooty
Loved the location, the room, the bed and the lobby. This is a beautiful, small hotel that is very classy.
The bar was great, friendly and good service, even enjoyed going for a drink on my own. The gym was functional but a bit small - you had to wait for the cross-trainer or treadmill. Being near the 6 metro line made going uptown or downtown very easy. The hotel were great at booking hair appointments and restaurants!
Lots of unnecessary furniture in the room, dining chairs a huge table and a big uncomfortable sofa. We pushed all the furniture out of the way to have enough room to move around. It was a bit dark everywhere.
Excellent hotel, excellent service. Staff dedicated and caring. I had a one-night only other problem when we wanted to go to the bar guard said we should register in advance. (Had to favoritism) It seems to me a bit disappointing to pay $ 800 a night and tumbled into search bar at the other.
Mauvais rapport qualité prix
i liked the entrance. did not enjoy the food . the rooms are poorly decorated compared to the entrance and the price we are paying. the bathroom is very very poor , the cupboards not a standard of a 5 star hotel.
Great location, great staff, good in situ restaurants. Well sized double room.
At this price, it is ridiculous to charge for wi-fi. This was a big no-no for me. The bathroom shower could be better.
Smallest room ever and had to call to have room made up at 6:30 pm but staff was very nice. Bed extremely comfortable. Antique chest in closet smelled pretty awful.
Counter space in bathroom needed.
Staff in general not approachable and unhelpful. Attitude in general very poor. Disappointed as had been here before but unlikely to come back.
Staff was extremely helpful & friendly. Valet parking, comfy beds, huge towels, nice bath products & robes. I slept like a rock! They kept our car & bags while we were on a college visit with our daughter. Wish time permitted a longer stay.
Wifi should be free at that price.
After 1 day at this hotel you start fantasising about selling everything and moving in! Special mentions to Darren at the desk and Jason B., for making everything particularly wonderful...I can't wait to come back. Beautiful room, fabulous bed, the Rose Bar....everything contrives to make you feel special from the moment you arrive to the sad time of leaving. Thank you!
Staff very helpful; location wonderful! We had a few niggles re room noise and heating which were sorted out immediately and with good grace-the mark of a great hotel is how they deal with this stuff!
The wifi did not work in the bedroom-we had to use it in the suite living room. In NY you expect excellent wifi! Also you have to agree to pay $16 dollars every time you log in which is a bit strange. The hotel then takes any additional payments of the bill-surely easy to sort out so that you log on once and pay once per day?
location, staff and maialino restaurant
overpriced but you get what you pay for in a roudnabout way!
Location, decor, service.
Small and under equipped fitness center, non-free wi-fi in the room.
The rooms are great
The restaurant is over priced, terrible service and badly run. The food is not great either especially at breakfast. I will never go there again after two breakfasts that took over an hour to get coffee served!
Excellent location in a fairly quiet part of the city. The staff was friendly and efficient. Bed was comfortable, double room large enough for our needs.
Cooling unit in room was loud and we also heard a fair bit of noise from the elevator. Wifi was difficult to connect to, and often slow...it really should be complementary for the guests.
Atmosphere and staff
Location and noise of the streets around
The room we had was very large but that may have been because it was a handicapped room though we are not handicapped. Bed was comfortable.
Bath fixtures - water flow in shower was weak; concierge gave us subway and walking directions to 9/11 Museum but did not allow a mature couple who walk slowly to get there with any spare time - we had to rush to make sure we got there in time for our timed ticket time; no coffee or tea in the room.
Access to all the good restaurants, bards and Delis. Gramercy Area is an pleasant area to stay and hotle has private access to Gramercy Park for hotel guests
Limited dining facilties in the hotel.
Having to be put on wait list to access hotel bar ...ludicrous & pretentious
Beautiful decor and outstanding art collection.
No access to roof top terrace which is now only used for private events or Rose bar (without prior reservation).
Great location and nice decor.
It was my first time in New York and i initially thought it was the best choice we made but we were wrong, the room was minuscule, the staff were unhelpful. For a 5 star hotel, we didn't feel that we received the service we paid for, which was a shame. You paid $16 a day for internet use, however wifi is free in the lobby. We definitely wouldn't go back there but it was an interesting experience, we didn't like it, you might, so please give this hotel the benefit of the doubt.
Staff was exceedingly accommodating and attentive, decor was beautiful and luxurious, swanky vibe, very comfortable room and great neighborhood with lots of great eateries nearby.
The hotel lobby and room were extremely dark which made it hard to see and read but it added to the great vibe.
We were fortunate to have had the hotel recommended to us by a friend, and the only negative was the South African exchange rate. Wonderful experience.
Whilst in keeping with the decor,we found everything outside the bar/entertainment area, a little dark.
Good location rooms. Goodf but tired as are corridors
Poor service. Good chambermaids though
