Grande Denali Lodge

Nice comfortable room with a great view.

They had made a mistake in the room rate that I was billed. Luckily I had a copy of the reservation booking with me. So I was charged the quoted rate.

I was disappointed in staff responsing to our requests. 1. bathroom sink was not draining was that one could brush teeth or wash hands without having water in sink for the full day. asked twice if someone could come and have a look yes yes but no one ever came. 2. in a room with 2 double beds 4 people stayed there were only 2 coffee cups. asked the front desk twice for 2 more. they would give them to me but said someone would deliver to room, once a again no one ever came. 3. parking was not designed very well.

It was clean and quite.

The beds and pillows are hard and uncomfortable; the furniture is very dated and worn. Parking is a nightmare and may require a hike up the hill to the hotel. When you check out - no one asks how your stay was ... they just take your keys and give you a receipt. Hotel is high on a hill away from everything --- so if you want food or drink, your options are limted to what's at the hotel or you have to drive the long, winding road into town.

View from the Grande Denali Lodge is amazing! Close to the park entrance which was nice.

Driving up and down the switchbacks to get to and from the hotel got a little annoying after a while - but the view was still worth it!

Parking lot was too small.

Beautiful view from the windows, free parking, free Internet and computer printouts, big room. We got a great deal on the room price-wise compared to the neighbourhood hotels. Fast checkin and checkout. Also, having a restaurant and a cafe downstairs is really nice and convenient. Our server was extra-nice. We didn't have a fridge in the room, but putting your stuff at the opening of the window and drawing the curtains to eliminate the draft really works (September 9 it was frost on the ground). Ask the staff for extras (teas or cups) if you have more people in the room - they are very accommodating.

No information on Denali park, except paid guided tours. It would be helpful to have basic Denali park information booklets or even faq printouts in the hotel, given its location, for those who want to explore it on their own. It would eliminate questions to staff, who not always are able to answer them, and lineups at two computers where people are looking at this very information. Hours of operation and deals printed on the room card holder need to be replaced with the updated ones - the store and cafe close earlier than it was mentioned - at 9 P.M. and not at 10.

Booked a king room got a queen size cottage room

Beds were comfortable. View from restaurant was nice. Kids (and adults!) enjoyed the humorous signs along the entrance Gluten free options in restaurant were greatly appreciated.

1. Young staff was not very knowledgable/sent us completely the wrong way and we spent a night in Meiers Lake because of it. (Missed out on White Water Rafting) 2. Young staff were not knoweledgable about the Tundra Wilnderness Tour. (not sure of stops and shuttle info. Felt like we were imposing when asking them basic questions IE what time to be at the shuttle?) 3. Gift shop closed for inventory and we were not able to shop due to our Wilderness tour and then our early departure schedule the next day. Boys had seen some shirts they wanted to purchase and they were disappointed. 4. The restaurant was WAY overpriced!!! Gracious!! 5. Felt like there was no older adult presence. Felt all staff way too young and not very helpful. (asked them questions as stated above and also about the boxed lunches. We were given the wrong info. We were told it didn't include a sandwich so we bought subs and as it turned out, we DID get sandwiches) 6. Wind tunnel that was ALWAYS present between buildings was not pleasant.

Spectacular view! Facilities where very nice!

No Real complaints... Didn't feel the warm and fuzzy from the staff but they were pleasant and helpful but not overly so... So that is a personal opinion. I had much better on this trip and some worse...

Great Hotel. It is very clean and well taken care of. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Beautiful views best in town and the shuttle service was prompt and friendly. The room was big and comfortable with a roomy layout.

Well I feel that my stay would have been perfect if the room had a mini fridge and wifi available. Only the front lobby gets wifi. The bed was really hard but almost all hotels have that problem. I was also very upset about the Alpenglow restaurant. It was way over priced for the food we received and the food was not that good. We where asked if we wanted soup or salad but found out they wher not included with the meal. That salad cost 9 extra dollars. My sons macncheese was 8 dollars. The staff was pleasent but I just felt we paid to much for the meal we had.

I could not charge food to the room. You had to do the buffet at breakfast, no other choice. The tv was not working and they had trouble getting it up and running with dish.

ネナナ川を見下ろせる部屋を2部屋予約したのですが、チェックンすると予約したレートの部屋は山側の部屋で- あるとされ、booking.com側のシステムが誤っているとの説明を受けました。追加料金を払えば変更可能とのことでしたが、その日- は空室がなく、やむなく山側の部屋に泊まることとなりまいた。せっかくの機会に前から予約していたにも関わ- らず部屋からの眺望が楽しめなかったのは大変残念でした。ホテル側とシステム側のどちらに責任があるのかは- わかりませんが、至急改善が必要だと思います。

The Shuttle - most of the time convenient, but a few times missed communication

Awesome staff. Beautiful views. Excellent buffet breakfast. Cabin was fun and very comfortable. Reasonable rates.

Our cabin was wonderful in so many ways. It was quiet, clean, and much nicer than we expected. I think we could have used one more blanket because there was a draft that was coming in from under the front door. Also, spiders were making their way into the cabin from under the door. I suggest that they attach something to bottom of door to fill in the gap. Despite this suggestion, I would ask for the cabin again. We enjoyed the more remote setting and ride up and down the hill on the golf cart. We are hoping to visit again in the near future. We forgot something in the bathroom and a staff member is going to send it to us. Great staff!

Price and service

I feel as though we got what we paid for.

Location and spectacular views. Although the Lodge had only opened for the season the day before we arrived everything was running smoothly. We arrived early 12 noon and checked in was 3 p.m. We were going on Wilderness Tour which did not return until late in the afternoon and the staff were able to give us access to our room which was appreciated.
