Good service; great location; very quiet; gorgeous hotel.
There was a cooktop and pots and pans, yet the minibar was the only fridge. We did not plan to cook in our room but we did buy some drinks and you would think that with the kitchen facility, there would at least be a small fridge to put food items in and not just the minibar.
Great size room. Staff were friendly and hotel was pleasant enough. Very old style so not my first choice usually. Comfy bed, great kitchenette. Ideal for a night or two.
Style of this hotel is not my first choice
Size of suite (830 sf) Comfort of bed and pillows Kitchen facility in room Great little gym Attentive, courteous & well trained staff Everything so comfortable like a great European boutique hotel
A little weak on shower water pressure but a very small thing
The Granduca is a wonderful hotel which seemed as if it had been transplanted from the shores of Lake Como - of course without the lake view. Patio life is dreamy and the service from the valet parking to the ladies attending the rooms was fantastic. I would rate this on par with any top hotel in USA
The room was lovely and the staff was very friendly.
Would have preferred one king bed, full size a bit small for over 6' guests. View of parking lot/garbage bins not great and A/C cluster -bit noisy to enjoy balcony.
We enjoyed the size and comfort of the room. There was plenty of closet space for our things. The deep soaking bathtub was a plus, as well.
I have nothing bad to say about the place. Everyone greeted us with a smile and made our stay enjoyable.
No wifi in the dining area.
Very friendly staff, nice rooms, small shopping area close to the hotel
Parking expensive also for self parking, in an area with many parking possibilities, room price too high for the location (Houston and location in Houston), W-LAN very slow
Very professional and courteous staff.
I was told that I could arrive at the hotel 1 hour early to decorate my room for approximately 10 family members for my son's grad celebration which would have lasted 2 hrs. When I got there I was told I could only have 3 people in the room at one time. I was then told I could use the library to set up hor d'oeuvres. After approximately 30 mins one of the managers came and rudely told me we would have to remove the hor d'oeuvres, my son's grad cake and leave the library. The average age of my guests were 55 as it was strictly the elders of my family. I called 3 times prior to ensure that I would be able to have this at the location and was told all 3 times it would be fine. The manager was VERY rude however I kept my composure and spoke to her in a very calm manner letting her know she was being rude. This all took place in front of the security guard who she called prior to addressing me and the front desk receptionist. After I left the site to attend my son's graduation 2 hrs later I returned because I forgot an article and there were people taking photos, drinking in the library and it appeared that it was a wedding party. She nearly ruined my son's graduation event had I allowed her antics to take me out of character. I have stayed at the Granduca many many times for leisure as well as referring my clients there to stay while on their international travels. When we have out annual family Polo event, it has been the hotel of choice. However, I will NEVER stay at this establishment again, refer any of my clients or patronize any fundraiser they may be involved with. I will definitely let my associates know how my family was treated by the manager. It's very unfortunate that she obviously judged my book by the color of my skin. It was definitely a racial issue and it will not be overlooked. You will loose far more money than not. Booking.
I loved the decor
We loved our stay at Hotel Granduca. It was a peaceful oasis in busy, noisy Houston. Our room was beautiful. The staff was exceptional. Our favorite moments were sitting on the back patio overlooking the beautiful garden and pool. We are planning to spend every stay in Houston at this incredible hotel.
Our breakfast was very expensive. The first morning it was delicious and prepared beautifully, the second breakfast was not prepared as well and were surprised at the large bill for the two of us.
As a guest you will be charged for self parking $ 18 a night plus tax
Decor and room were excellent and so were all the facilities and staff.
Meal in the restaurant was poor we had to send 1 main course back as it was cold; and the replacement came and it was also only warm & not hot so it wasn't eaten. Someone else also complained about the food not being hot.
The Gym was available 24/7
Breakfast starts at 6:30. I would like to talk my breakfast at 6 am.
This is a lovely hotel but overpriced without a special deal, which we had. The drinks in the bar were delicious but overpriced. There was so much problem with our breakfast that we were told we wouldn't be charged for my wife's; but we were.
Nothing not to like.
Friendly staff; nice pool; convenient location to the Galleria area. Overall, it is a nice hotel.
Reservation mix-up resulted in getting a room with 2 beds rather that 1 king bed (poor choice for Valentine's weekend) and didn't receive morning newspaper after I requested it (a minor inconvenience, but unexpected from a highly-rated hotel).
It was very nice I really liked it
I didn't like that they made a big deal about a couple extra people in the room
One of the best hotels I've stayed at. Room was really a small apartment; quality was outstanding. Staff first rate - not like some hotels in Houston.
