Friendly staff, helpful with our tours, great bus trip deals, great places around to eat & drink. Lovely breakfast at captains cafe. Empire State right on our door step :-)
Rude taxi drivers who didn't know where East 34th street was, thought that wasn't rocket science, as the streets are clearly marked & the hotel has a large white canopy !!!
Very nice breakfast. Clean rooms Great location.
Single elevator which works very slowly. the price is way to expensive comparing to what you actually get.
Location Desk staff helpful
Extremely slow lift (used stairs most times), small congested area for breakfast, no laundry facilities or service but there are two close by
The metro station was quite close to the hotel.
A nice, very good located hotel. We stayed in a four-bed-room that was very big. The hotel will, as er got explained, be totally renovating at the besinning of 2015 and that seems neccesary. Breakfast were really bad. Our stay was really good. Would stay here again.
Breakfast was poor.
wifi was excellent. location was very good the breakfast in captain's restaurant was superb!:)
sounds from other rooms taking showers was very loud, especially when some guests took showers after midnight. staircase was very dirty and had not been vacuum cleaned in a long time. no interaction with hotel staff
Location Easy check-in Helpful reception staff
Small, crowded breakfast room. No computer for guest use in the lobby. No non-slip bath mat for the tub.
- Location - Cleanliness
- Old Fashioned - Early Check out - Shabby
this is a great hotel for a great price, only there for 3 nights, really served its purpose.
Overall experince was good.
Staff were decent and location was good, right in Midtown near Koreatown, a 5-10 min walk to Penn Station. Price was lowest I found in NYC for a decent place without compromising on safety or cleanliness (or location). The staff made it feel safe. They serve a comp continental breakfast in the lobby which was decent. Room was decent but not extraordinary. It was clean. I'd recommend this place if you're on a budget & not too fussy but need a half-decent place that is safe & in a location close to the action.
Room itself was a bit underwhelming. Blanket was a bit dusty. Windows hard to open & view was interior (rather kept the blinds closed). Pipes a bit noisy during the morning shower times. But like I said, decent enough especially given the price. It was solidly booked while we were there (88 rooms).
Situated in Midtown with Walking access to many great sigths and events.
Breakfast included, a good thought but not corresponding to the amount of guests. Noisy rooms and poor aircondition.
Great location, close to subway, staff always friendly.
The elevators are slow & the bed frames are squeaky.
Loved being in Midtown Manhattan near everything! Close to the Empire State Building, Macy's at Herald Square, Times Square and the 6 line going uptown or downtown.
Carpet and room cleanliness, hot hallways with fire doors, fans and an elevator that you didn't know was coming because you didn't know what floor it was on because there were no indicators on the elevator except in the lobby which is quite unusual, less than stellar complementary breakfast. Better off crossing the street during the week and getting breakfast at Silo.
The location is perfect, it is very close to the heart of Manhattan a almost every place is reachable by foot. Room was clean and well equiped. It is really worth of the price.
There could be better choice of the food for the breakfast.
In the middle of the city
Rooms too small. The worst breakfast ever. Limo service arranged by the hotel betrayed me(90 instead of 70 dollars)
Was close enough to be able to walk, but still be a little out of the hussle. Captains Cafe was a god send for a quick bite after a long day sightseeing. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Rooms very small, wifi was useless, ended up moving rooms to see if we could get better reception. Slightly better but ended up with a smaller room.
Great location for all tourist sites. Great free breakfast to help start the day. Friendly and welcoming staff, especially the room attendants who did an excellent job!!
Decor beyond reception was very dated and the stairs need a good clean!
Staff were really helpful. Beds incredibly comfortable and Wi-Fi connection was great. Complementary breakfast though very simple was ok. Safe deposit boxes available behind the reception.
Décor in rooms was shabby and cleaning was not great. Bathroom had one small hook and hanging rail - not enough for towels for 4 people.
Receptionist was unfriendly, carpets looked grimmy, room lighting was taken from a local office, lift tiny. To sum up nothing like the website.
rooms are clean love the marble bathroom. front desk manager is so cute and nice . He let us check in rite away and I like the baggage room for the next day, it is nice to leave bags and go shopping. Great coffee at captains café.
-The location is great, right in the middle of the action. -The staff at the front desk was extremely helpful (Alvaro!!!)
-The bed wasn't comfortable. -Old shower makes it hard to figure out the right temperature.
Location is good. Clean and comfortable. Staff lovely.
Shower terrible. Breakfast not worth it.
Great location- right next to the Empire State building, and only 1 minute away from the subway station. Very clean rooms, large and spacious, view of the Empire State building, restaurants nearby. Nice and helpful staff. Breakfast included in price. Overall I would Highly Recommend it.
There was a lot of noise from the street on all hours of the night and in the early mornings. Breakfast was very minimal and there was hardly any room to sit.
The location is central in nyc. The staff was very helpful.
The price should be 99$ a night. The place is in need of a serious makeover. The hallways are filthy. There is only one working elevator that is extremely slow. Take the steps its faster. The room thank goodness smelled like Clorox otherwise, I would be looking for another hotel room. The linens were old, but again things did seem clean although there was very little light in the room. The power went off twice, but very promptly taken care of. Don't use blow dryer and air conditioner at same time. I paid 600 plus for two nights this is no bargain. The only reason I would recommend this hotel is that is a great location and for no more than 2 nights it was just ok.
