location is my favorite
Where is located
The matress is very uncomfortable and in general the hotel looks like dirty.
big room with a nice view
Great location. Cheapest place I could find in this region.
No parking, no breakfast, small room and VERY loudly, could hear the cars passing all night. Even more, there was a street work for 3 days of my stay.
The location was perfect, and the staff were very helpful, particularly when we wanted to check in early.
I'm too old this is a great place for children or people that are broke
Size of room size of beds small old beds
There was no fridge in the room which we would have liked - I realise many US hotels do not have fridges.
Location was good
Didn't like the beds, too hard
The location was perfect 5 minutes walk from Market Street. The staff at the reception were very helpful in offering useful advice about sightseeing.
The room and toilet were too small. The room did not have tea/coffee. The LCD TV picture was too dark that you could hardly see anything.
WiFi was really good. Staff was kind. Location was very good, just a few minutes from Union Square.
The room was small. The walls were thin.
Good location, friendly & helpful staff, security and budget friendly
A little nervous about the clunky sounding elevator but I was able to use the stairs
Very friendly and helpful staff. After staying one night, I decided to stay a second night, but my room wasn't available. So, they just moved me to an even better room, and I didn't have to wait for the check-in time. The location is terrific. In Chinatown, just a couple blocks from the French neighborhood, and Union Square. Close to Muni and BART, etc., and in walking distance to most of the city. Can't beat it for the price.
The only thing I didn't like was the bed in the single room. Not very comfortable. But when they moved me to a double room, the bed was fine. I'll just know not to book the single room from now on.
Great location, walk to most things. I felt safe there & the area seemed OK. Important as I was by myself. No bed bugs. Clean, comfy bed (single, not good for tall people). Wifi worked well. Staff were extremely helpful. One young man even chased me down the street after me with a folder that I had left on the counter after I'd checked out.
It was a bit noisy, I was in 302 near the elevator which made pinging noises, but I slept OK. Also noise of people moving about in corridor or next room. People were pretty quiet though so it was OK.
location was a few minutes walk from union square on edge of china town so was interesting staff were helpful and attentive
tired, dated decor shower was either too hot or too cold
(1)The view outside was a brick wall and the view inside was four drab walls without a picture to look at. (2) After checking in I saw that work was being done in the bathroom but the maintance man wasn't around. I left for a late lunch and he still hadn't returned when I returned to the room. I was beginning to unpack when he came back to finish the job. Took almost abn hour to finish.
No Air conditioning Lousy, spotty WiFi Street Noise with windows closed Outrageous noise with window open to get circulation into room or live in a sweat box.
Everything in the room worked properly, including all the fixtures. The corner room on the 4th floor was quiet, with hallways on two sides and with the adjoining room on the far side of the bathroom. The room was cleaned well each day. Reception staff were friendly, patient, and most helpful. Wifi was excellent. The location just inside the Dragon's Gate was perfect for shopping, sightseeing, and restaurants.
Space was a little cramped, the bed quite hard, and there were few TV channels. The room was basic, without charm but functional. Given the cheap price of the room, this was overall an excellent deal.
Great hotel staff. Great location.
The service was ok and once we asked to move rooms the upgraded us to the 6th floor, deluxe rooms which were much better and what we had expected originally
Our first room was awful! There was a gap at the top of the door which meant we could hear every noise, even other people having a shower in their rooms. There was no natural light and it felt like we were staying in a hostel rather than a hotel. We asked to move on our second night and they upgraded us to the 6th floor which has the deluxe rooms. These were much better and what we had thought we were getting in the first place. They did however try to charge us extra at checkout for the upgrade. The location is good but I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you specify you would like the 6th floor. Also not having a fridge in the room was really inconvenient
Rooms were simple and clean, with a good shower.
The downside - really noisy, it's not only the noise from the street (traffic) but internally also, kids running up and down the stairs every morning (730am), other guests slamming doors, had to keep the bathroom door shut due to noise from other bathrooms coming through and to top it off, the lift had an alarm that goes off and remains on when it stops on your floor! Combined with the street traffic, this is a very noisy place to stay!! We did a lot of walking this trip and needed a good sleep therefore, we could have done with a little more peace throughout the night and early morning. Staff didn't really seem to care about the noise level, yes there's a notice up reminding guests not to slam doors but there really needs to be something fitted to the doors themselves to prevent the slams. Staff really need to be more proactive. Also, by 8.30/9.00am cleaners were knocking on doors and letting themselves in while we were in bed!, while I realize they need to do they're job, 'come on', we're on vacation and I personally don't like opening my eyes to finding myself looking at a stranger holding cleaning products.
Clean. City center. 20 minutes to pier 39 walk. Not bad for one - two night. Not more. Good wifi)) Was in our room. May be router was near.
Very expensive for such a small room, but the city center. Noisy. And cold in the room. Parking isn't free, but cheaper, than where either near.
- fair value, all things considered - located near Union Square (within walking distance) and in the middle of Chinatown
- finding a place to park is hard or expensive, or both - rooms (what, the whole building) are somewhat outdated and can be noisy - very few services available, but in all fairness that is to be expected in this price range in a city like SF
Front desk was helpful about sightseeing. The location was great - in Chinatown - and a block away from catching the tram.
The room was small.
