staff on the night of May 5 was very kind. Staff the morning of May 6 was not friendly.

no air conditioning, dirty (found sock under bed, hair in bathroom etc.)

The fact that we could keep the room until midday was useful as our flight was at 4pm. Well located in downton SF with many shops and a Walgreens minimarket close by. Rooms were clean and the receptionist in the afternoon answered all our questions.

Breakfast is very basic, didn't even include milk for the coffee. The receptionist spoke extremely loudly over the phone for over an hour, on a private call, whilst we were having breakfast 2 meters away. The breakfast is actually located in the lobby. When I asked a question, the receptionist hardly looked up from her private phone call. No air condition in the room and no wifi in the room, just in the lobby. Not very friendly to american standards.

The hotel is very well located, the rooms are spacious, the bed, pillows and showers are very good. Just do not count on the breakfast because they don`t have structure and you get a croissant and coffee in the lobby.

Terrible staff and customer service. Chinese old lady at lobby does not understand english and I cannot understand chinese!

The location This hotel is correct but has nothing special. The room was clean.

Staff was professional, courteous and informative. The room was QUIET, we had the windows open and it was perfect, fresh air with very little city noise. Plenty of hot water and the cleaning staff did a great job.

Great convenient location. Clean. Good continental breakfast (coffee and pastry). Fairly priced accommodations.

We had a fairly large room with two double beds and a desk. It would have been nice to have another chair or something so that we had someplace other than the desk chair or beds to sit on.

Pleasant experience, very helpful and friendly staff. Safe location in close vicinity to everything you need.

Don't expect luxury and a view over the bay. It's basic, but very comfortable

clean and close to BART, cable cars, and almost all the Main attractions (China Town, Market, Union Square)

Cheap and cheerful, when all you need is a tidy room and bathroom and a bed to sleep in.

Is a bit old and run down. But it's what you expect paying so little per night.

Position and cleanliness. Freshly painted. Free Wifi.

Poor quality bedding, cheap and worn. Only choice of 'sweet' rolls/pastries for breakfast.

One of the receptionist - a young boy was extremely helpful giving us directions to a few places.

I was sorely dissapointed with the fact that breakfast was advertised but there was no dining area. If you were lucky enough to get down in time to get a spot in the waiting area you could have a coffee in a paper cup if the machine was filled. Sorely dissapointed. One receptionist - a middleaged lady was rather "Curt" and not very helpful. I was quiet taken aback when we stepped into the elevator, it looked like it could do with a "good clean" The first room we were given we refused because it had two windows with blinds but it looked out onto a Brick Wall. The room we finally settled for had two windows looking out onto the main road but had no blinds, but nice drapes. The door kept sticking, we had to use "brute force" to open it.

Location is great. Room was good for the money. Everything appeared to be clean.

Front desk staff didn't seem to know much (limited English skills). The continental breakfast is very basic.

It was our 3 or 4 visit to the Grant we love the location. There's a garage across the street, they work well with the hotel. Always courteous, clean and accommodating.

The room size, plenty of towels, room was well lit. Hot tea available always. Adequate breakfast.

Heater, phone not working. Key stopped working every night and had to be replaced.

Frendly. Staffs watches NBA in the Lobby. Next to the china town and Union Square. Near from Moscone Center.

Fair price for excellent location. Its near everything!

Rooms are a bit small and some of the staff were being short with us when we asked for clean towels. Also their accessories such as air-blower and iron were of bad quality. But for the price of the hotel these things did not bother us.

Great location,only blocks from Chinatown and Union Square. Within walking distance from BART Powell Station. Very close to Powell Cable car line. Breakfast included. Dispensers for soap,shampoo and lotion rather than individual containers which cuts down on waste. Tea and coffee available at any time.

No control over heating in room,however I was given an extra blanket upon request.

Close to the centre of San Fran, shopping, restaurants and Cafe's. Safe area!

Public parking facility is located accross the street. Only 24$ per day price ok for sf.

Breakfast :) croissant and coffe. Front rooms are noisy because of Bush street traffic.

Room was dark. No free WiFi on room.
