I like the staff the most and the atmosphere, I've never traveled before and I had a blast, met alot of people and got to explore the city none of that would have happened as easily without the green tortoise.
No objections.awesome place.
I wish that they reminded people a little more about being quiet when entering rooms late at night, and being sensitive to other people's rest.
breakfast and dinner are so good as cost performance.
This is my very first time staying at a hostel and I must say that I was really impressed. My kids were afraid for me and kept texting me to see if I am safe. This hostel is not only safe but also very clean. I loved the free breakfast and the free tacos, wish they had chinese and Indian food too, lol! The only thing I didn't like was the mattress and the pillow. The mattress was so thin that I could feel my back touching the spring and the pillow was too flat I woke up with bags in my eyes. Over all it was an excellent place.
The mattress was very thin and uncomfortable, my back could feel the spring and the pillows are too thin, I woke up with puffy eyes and even when I got home my kids noticed the bags under my eyes
The staff are really nice people and help you with advices about what to do and where go to eat... The place its clean and organized. I've been in many hostel, and the Green Tortoise was the one of the best. I recommend!!
Right downtown-Close to everything
If you want peace and quiet or a area with natural scenery etc this isnt the place
The beds, the location right across the street from Pike's Place Market and lots of places to eat. Walking distance to everything. EMP is just 1 mile away and the SAM is 2 blocks. I've stayed in numerous hostels around the world and this one is by far the quietest in the rooms as well as has the most comfortable beds. The showers/bathrooms are all private and not private shower/bathroom stalls, I mean really private. You cannot beat this location!
When I checked in I was surprised to find I was in a 4 bed dorm and shared it with three other males, since I'm female. The guys were awesome but they were very surprised as well. There was not the option when I booked to have an all female or male or mixed dorm, so I didn't really care too much, but if you're a nervous female traveler, call to check with them first to secure a same sex dormitory.
Cheap, great location, all the facilities, locker, WIFI, kitchen, eggs & pancakes for breakfast (included in price).
Not enough toilets for the morning showers, so you should try to take a shower in the less busy times.
location, free dinner.
The location and security was great. The free dinners and breakfast were too.
I was assigned a top bunk even though there were bottom bunks available. I am a female, I was happy being in a mixed dorm but at no time during my stay were thew any other girls in my dorm. The room got stuffy from so many bodies in such a small space and there was a suspicious white splatter stain on the inside of my privacy curtain to my bed. I did not feel comfortable during my stay.
The location was great. Well situated within range of buses and the Pike Place Market. Each bed is allocated and has a locker and is curtained. Power points galore
So many homeless people in the area. Dodgy at night. Low cleanliness in the bathrooms. Sheets with stains. Blankets too small.
Except for the noise, everything was perfect, including the opportunity to park locally.
Noise from within the hostel was rather ridiculous, I thought. Loud parties, music and people yelling at 2 a.m., 4 a.m., as if they had no understanding anybody would be sleeping. Could there not at least be some guidelines?
The staff was very hospitable, the place very clean, and the free meals were fantastic. There was a great common area for people to (theoretically) spend most of time there instead of in the sleeping rooms. But...
While I feel like I was told or read a thousand times no food or drink in the sleeping rooms, there was no such emphasis on being courteous. I have never been with such rude travelers. In the room of 8, everyone but one was guilty of turning on the overhead light in the middle of the night, answering a cell phone, having a loud conversation when people are obviously sleeping, or being just generally loud, despite the lack of common rooms.
Great staff, nice layout and rooms, and the most bang for the buck!
If I have any problem with GT, it's that I wish the privacy curtains on the beds were a little bigger.
위치, 식사, 편안함, 사람들, 잠자리 등등 모든것
The foreign crowd here is great and being so close to pike place market made it great
A little noisy sometimes but thats about it
The staff were great from beginning to end. I wish I had time for one of day outings but was in town for conference. Perfect location in downtown area. Quiet hostel, people staying were nice, respectful, and quiet. I would stay here again or better yet try the San Francisco location!
Needs an area (non-smoking) with more couches/chairs to sit & talk but otherwise great
The staff were very friendly, and the bed were so comfortable.
It's located on the second floor, so struggled with my luggage up to the reception.
Located by Pike Place Market Dorms spatious - plenty of room between bunks, and curtains for each bunk for privacy. Good shower and kitchen facilities. Good deals on local attractions e.g. EMP museum and underground tours.
The location is perfect. I also liked the cleanliness of the showers and that they were cleaned daily. The beds are pretty small for taller people but you can't beat the price and location.
Location, location and location.
car noise during night, need to carry luggage up
People and staff friendly and accomodating. Great location to ferry terminal, Pikes place.Linens and bathrooms clean. Was able to book a 4bed for the 2 of us for some privacy. We were exhausted, slept well and felt safe. Bottom bunks have the better mattresses
Very busy and bustling but convenient location. Not always quiet with crazy guy outside on the street yelling four letter words for a VERY long time. Some sheets with holes, carpeting worn, and seemingly dirty and worn upholstered chair. Our 1st time at a hostel, we're retired and not so used to tatoos! A bit uncomfortable for us, but it was an experience and we felt safe. Windows and screens could use cleaning. Too many beggars on most corners
