people common rooms
it was a new experience stayin in a hostel but i met some great people and was in a perfect location for my class
the pool table was way unlevel and the sticks were beat up...
Lounge is great with many space and piano which random guests play. Nice staff at reception. Bed is cleaner than I thought.
An Italian guy was rude to me at the kitchen. Also Asian lady who work at kitchen was also a bit rude. They can be better.
I liked people there. My roommate was a girl in same ages from China and totally awesome! I could know new perspective from her, which was nice experience.
No elevator (or maybe I could not find?) Tough for those who brought heavy luggage.
Cool people to meet and had daily events/ meals. Good common area and kitchen. Staff pretty friendly.
Stunk of weed, Strip bars along the street so super super noisy. Had to share bathroom with everyone on the floor, though there were a few but one is getting renovated.
Very nice hostel with a huge dining/chill out area. They provided excellent free dinners and the breakfast was also good, including fruits and choice of teas :) Helpful staff.
Not enough toilets/showers.
Location, really, everything can be reached by a walk. And the staff of course. And the breakfasts. Bagels with everything. I didn't have to buy food during my stay in SF thanks to it.
We had no air conditioning, so we had to sleep with open window. That means sometimes we got wake up by a loud drunk on the street. But i did not mind that. It is a good stay.
Comfortable private room for a great price
The atmosphere is very friendly, the hostel is right in center of San Francisco and the staff is really kind and helpfull!
Location and free food on offer two evenings in the week.
Bed was awful - so uncomfortable!
The staff of the hostel is great - very helpful and hospitable. They helped me to see most of the city in one day providing a map with a route across all important landmarks and districts (with advices on which bus should I get etc). It was also clean inside (not perfectly clean but good for hostel). There are also activities provided by staff almost every evening (beer olympics, thai restaurant party etc). They also have a free dinner once a week or so. Wifi is fast and free, which is very important nowadays and uncommon to US.
Noise! My room's windows were facing Broadway street and it was too noisy even at night (there were several adult night clubs around). Lockers are not locked by default and you will need to bring you own padlock or buy one at the reception (5$). Towel is also not included and can be rented (1$).
Localization, right in the crowd are of Broadway/Columbus. Hostel's atmosphere. Free food 3x/week.
Part of the staff wasn't quite happy with they work but was efficient. Dust above the expected (even for a hostel) in the rooms. Bathrooms already deserve renovation. Wood lockers not safe: with the padlock, door opens to the size of a hand.
We were 4 girls staying there and we all thought it was a great location, fun and friendly staff and we just really liked it!
The only thing I think wasn't that good where that the bathrooms where often very dirty
The hostel was ok, friendly staff, good localisation near Chinatown. Great opportunity to meet nice people :)
It was very hot in the room - aircon wasn't working. On the other hand our windows were at the street level - there was no chance to leave it open during the night. No chance to sleep vell.
the location is pretty good.
i booked the shuttle to the airport in the hotel, but they forgot to give me the coupon, so i paid an extra 20 dollars.
simple, but nice breakfast. central in the ciry
Very expensive for a small room with no own bathroom. pretty noisy at night from a nightclub as neighbours. And not that charming than most european hostels i stayed in.

The pyramid building out the dining room windows...
Location, staff, and facility are all wonderful. The place is clean, and there are a lot of sponsored activities.
You have to climb a flight of stairs to access the front desk, and more stairs to the rooms (no elevator). The staff was happy to help with my luggage, however.
Very nice staff, friendly and helpful
Too less toilets and showers
Social side is excellent, always events planned every night. Some are free. Free meals 3 nights a week....the chef is awesome and funny as hell!
The hostel itself is a little bit dated, but that gives it its character and all the facilities are good.
Although it was really tiny hostel but it didn't make any sense and it was good to be there
Good location - central enough but without being in the thick of it. Social events and free dinners couple of nights a week if you're on a budget.
Noisy at times.
The hostel provides a free continental breakfast each morning from 7:30 a.m. 'til 10 a.m. The hostel provides free dinners for it's guests on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings. The hostel is in a prime North Beach location.
The hostel is in the popular North Beach area known for bars, clubs, and party scene. The streets are filled with drunken party people who are loud and rowdy at all hours of the night/early morning. The only entrance is via a steep flight of stairs. There are not enough restrooms or or showers and there is only one restroom on the bottom floor. The beds are uncomfortable. The rooms have 8-10 beds in each room. There is no air conditioning .The rooms are hot and it is necessary to have the windows open to have fresh air in the room but there is so much noise on the street it is impossible to sleep with the windows open.
