When I sat on edge of bed heard a crack and had a low spot there in mattress; bed obviously old and ready for replacement
Location really good not far from public transport and some great cafés and diners nearby.
There's no A/C . The TV is old. Dirty old carpet.
I liked that everything is walking distance from the hotel, Other than that I wouldn't have booked.
ROOM HEATER(PLUG IN) DIDN'T WORK
The office attendant was a lil rude
Bed was real comfortable
The ground floor room I stayed in was uninhabitable. It had clearly recently flooded-the carpet was damp & waterstained throughout, and the room wreaked of mold. There were bugs (earwigs) in the cracks between the carpet and the walls. I ended my stay early mainly because of the overwhelming smell of mold& air freshener. The bathroom (in contrast) was clean and totally serviceable. Staff was efficient. Location is very good, in the middle of trendy Marina-Cow Hollow neighborhoods. A room on an upper floor would probably be just fine. But my room was not. Bring your own pillow.
Free outdoor parking, 1 block from to shopping/ bars/ restaurants
There was sprayed refresher in the room-didn't like the smell. Opened door to get the smell out. Windows don't open. Bed was very uncomfortable. Pillows were lumpy. Room was cold. I wore fleece jacket to sleep, and socks. Wouldn't come here again.
Location was good. Shower was good. Refridgerator was available.Towels were clean.
The room floor carpet is dirty. Bedsheet was torn and had holes although it was clean. There is a Fire station nearby and siren can be heard throughout the night!
Staff are friendly and helpful.
The thermostat was broken and my boyfriend and I froze all night. When we complained the man at the front desk did nothing about it and didn't appear to be the least bit concerned with our stay.
Could not easily work sat tv, though wi-fi was great. Can be a bit loud... I wear earplugs, so no problem. There was someone who keep smoking right outside their room/ my room but could never find them so that I might ask them to move along. These were not deal breakers for me.
The location is hard to beat... Union Street and Chestnut Street are just steps away. The Hollow Cow corner market is across the street. Great neighborhood deli. (Try the fresh roasted turkey sandwich). Also Lucca's Italian Eli and the Marina Super, both on Chestnut, will have you ordering like a local and not needing to eat out every night. #22 bus will take you over the hill to Fillmore Street. #30 will take you through Chinatown to Union Square. So for less than five dollars and a few leisurely strolls you can take in multiple SF neighborhoods!
This was the worst experience I've ever had at a motel. I only hoped for a clean room with a good bed and shower. The room was visibly dirty upon arrival: carpet not vacuumed, dirt and food smeared/stuck on bathroom floor and counter, surfaces had not been wiped down including the toilet wrapped in a "sanitized" seal. We were going out so I called the front desk and left a message to please have the room checked and cleaned while we are gone. We arrived back to find it untouched and upon further inspection found the towels actually had makeup on them and streaks of what appeared to be--and smelled to be--poop (yes seriously). I called the office and they offered a refund or a new room. We wanted to leave but were tired with no other place to go so we took a new room which was almost as dirty and slept on the outside of the dirty sheets (seriously they were yellow and smelled sweaty). Overall I would rate this hotel as terrible. It was greatly disappointing and inconvenient to be without a clean bed and bathroom during a long road trip.
The shower was nice but it was difficult to really enjoy because the rest of the bathroom was so dirty.
The carpet looked like it neened replacement.
Price, location and friendly staff. Staff helped me from ordering a pizza to getting around town.
NOISY, POOR COSMETIC APPEAL
LOCATION, BED COMFORT, RE-DONE SHOWER
TV didn't work. It was noisy. It was old and overpriced. The staff were not that friendly and the Wifi was terrible.
It was a couple of blocks from lovely Union Street with restaurants and gorgeous boutique shops.
Far from downtown on foot. Smelly rooms. No working wifi connection. Outdated building. Breakfast is a joke.
Free car parking available. Good connection with city buses to visit the city. Friendly staff.
The bed and pillows were uncomfortable, the TV didn't work and the WiFi was terrible. It was extremely overpriced for the standard when comparing to other major cities.
The best thing about this motel was the location. It was two blocks from restaurants on Lombard Street and two blocks the opposite direction to restaurants and lovely boutique shopping on Union Street.
Very very expensive, it's like prices of 5* and services of 1* the staff is rude and barely give tourist info or advices how to move in SF, Wifi does not work, room was old and it's necesary remodel it and re-furnish
it's close to several restaurants and tourist sites
Not a big deal, but could use better mattresses; Shower could use more scrubbing around base area.
Loved the location; Loved the quietness; Loved the free parking; Full size mini fridge and microwave; and Great value.
No air conditioner... fans that didn't work..You had to pay up front before receiving the keys to the room... The beds very uncomfortable, coffee pots were old.. The property was old and run down..
The location was great
Room not fully cleaned on check-in, no remote for T.V., no toilet paper holder, staff not interested in customer needs. Late one night a staff member was loudly speaking on cell phone for hours while walking around motel's parking lot. Child relatives of staff were loudly playing on both levels of motel. Cleaning(?) product used in room smelled of cheapness. Way overpriced for quality of stay. Will warn all friends/relatives to avoid this motel!
Good location for shopping, dining and seeing sights of Cow Hollow & Marina districts.
There's not WiFi connection anywhere in the complex, any. Get crazy to get it and finally it's need to turn the corner to Mells to use the Internet.
The staff was very rude. Wifi didn't work. The sink was clogged, they came the next day to fix it but left the bathroom incredily dirty and with a terrible smell. This hotel does not deserve to be in the "guide du routard"
Nothing very expensive three nights over 536 usd for that poor hotel
As we are independent on web, it was vey inconvenient that the wi-fi network did not function. We told the reception desk, they would reset it, but at no navail. They told me they know what the problem was, but I got the impression that they did not bother much. When we wanted to pay the ordered airport shuttle, they said that they only accepted cash for this. We went back to the room, got cash (10 $ banknotes), only to find out that they did not have change. "We can give it you tommorow" When I said, please give me back the banknotes, I will pay tomorrow yhan, the man at the desk said I should change the banknotes for smaller ones at the nearby shop. I told him I would not do yhat, he should change the money. He thereupon walked away, came back soon and threw the change in front of me on the desk. And no, he did not want to talk to me.
Room was o.k.; Beds were good, cleaning was good. There was no water cooker to make coffee or tea.
poor parking. only 1 light in working in room. poor electrics-hard to find power point to plug in chargers etc. some undesirables hanging around hotel car park of a night.
