Score from 53 reviews Wonderful
Easy in and out
Location No bugs
Very basic Very dated
The front desk clerk was very nice. Rooms were clean.
By the outside it looks like an old place. Needs a little renovation, more like an update.
The room was clean. The flatscreen tv was large. Close to Middlebury school. close to restaurants.
The old air conditioner in the wall near the bathroom looked lie a fire harzard.
Clean, comfortable place ideal for a short stay
People next door talking outside far into the night and early in the morning
Outlets sparked at me, some lamps wouldn't even turn on, things left in fridge. I left at 2 am and lost my $115
The motel appearance is kind of rundown.
Of the seven motels so far on this trip, it was the most comfortable, cleanest, best kept and best value for the money..
Service was good, we needed more towels and got them upon request. Location was close to where we needed to go. Room was small but comfortable for three.
Bathroom old and tile in bad shape needed to be replaced.
Convienant, nice folks
Courteous and accommodating staff. Location in relation to my school. Ease of parking and getting in and out of the property. Refrigerator and hot shower were nice.
Property is in disrepair. TV power button was missing and didn't work for first day. Still acted up and shut off randomly. Carpet was severely worn in places. Maid did not clean the room thoroughly each day.
not much. close to our lacrosse tournament.
old furniture, ancient gross carpet, dirty bathroom, no coffee until 7:30 when she was there and guests were up and waiting!
Location to Middlebury College. It was a fairly good value for the money.
There was no coffee maker in the room and the continental breakfast was skimpy.
Room was clean
The décor could use some updating. I had to ask the manager how to turn the lights on for the bathroom since there was no switch. The switch turned out to be a timer on the wall so the lights would not stay on. Also, the other lights in the room were so dim that you could not read anything unless you were right under the light blub.
Mattress was comfortable.
Smelly grungy old place. Needs an update of carpets and bathrooms. Felt itchy under the blanket.
Lack of heat without using a space heater. Serious upgrades needed - carpet, drapes - could be much nicer with a little upgrade and nicer towels. Breakfast was poor - stale muffin, stale cereal. Minimal offering.
We loved the location--just outside of Middlebury-- and the price which was reasonable.
We couldn't control the heat and had to run the air conditioning which was so energy inefficient. The pillows were hard foam and I had a terrible night's sleep. Given that getting a good night's sleep is the #1 mission of a motel, I would say that Graystone needs to make some improvements. The WiFi was intermittent and unreliable. I couldn't charge my computer because the wiring in the motel is out of date (2 prong outlets, not grounded 3 prong outlets.) We appreciate that that the motel is under new management. Hopefully they will continue to make upgrades and improvements. Please get softer pillows!
Very poor Wi Fi and poor breakfast!
clean quiet, basic
The location is excellent for parents of Middlebury students. The place is nice and clean. I like the friendly staff and simple booking, frig. and microwave in the room. Breakfast is simple and can be added more proteins to it.
It seems the phone is not working well. It should be able to communicate locally and long distance.
Price was good at 72.00 a night. Very convenient to Middlebury College.
Facility is definitely worn out and needs some significant investment. TV set is very old with bad color. Carpets are worn. Sheets and bedding are not great. Small refrigerator was not tirned on and smelled awful.
The location - quite close to Rosie's Restaurant (for breakfast and Dinner).
The bedroom walls have no sound-proofing - did not appreciated being disturbed at 3:00 am by the honeymoon couple next door. It was like watching a porn movie with the vision turned off!
for the nightly fee - which I think was high for the value, we do expect better amenities. Such as nice towels, washcloths, soap, television, quiet air conditioner, etc. We were disappointed. There was a courtyard hotel down the street. That is were we would book next trip.
