Clean room. Location at Embarcadero. Very friendly staff. Very small room, floor slated to one direction (219). Despite excellent noise reduction, you will hear traffic.

Great location and perfect service Take rooms with bay view, they are really great. Rooms with view on the interior court have no day light, the window is small and no transparent.

Convenience to attractions. Decor. Friendly and attentive staff, particularly Terrence. Stayed in room 412, between the elevator and ice machine. Very noisy at night - difficult to sleep.

The location was central to where I wanted to take my wife for her first visit to San Francisco The room we were given looked nothing like the images on the internet. It was small and cramped. The floor was sloping at about 8 degrees towards the door and if you put anything round on the cupboards it rolled off onto the floor. When I mentioned this to the hotel desk, I was told "well it used to be the shower room thats why it slopes" Surely there are builders in California that can level a floor during refurbishing. It was in my opinion extremely expensive (over $900.00 for 2 nights) for the most basic of rooms. The staff in the restaurant were very rude on the first night we had a meal there to which I most begrudgingly left a tip. The second evening was better but certainly not anywhere near the standard we experienced in the rest of our USA trip. Overall it was the only blight on what was a wonderful trip through California and Nevada.

good location, nice clean hotel too noisy because of housekeeping noise in the corridors and therefore very expensive (once you've added parking and taxes) for very little sleep

The location was great! For the price, the room size was small and there was no view. We had problems with the tv the first night but the staff worked to resolve the problem.

The location was excellent, close to the Ferry Building, an easy walk to Union Station, the Embarcadero, and the financial district. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The bed was soft and the room was quiet. The room was very small. The queen-sized bed took up most of the space. The bathroom was also very small and if you weren't careful, you would scrape your toes with the door when you closed it. The view in our room was non-existent - a tiny window with caned glass to disguise the fact that it overlooked an air shaft.

We enjoyed our stay at, Hotel Griffon. Perry's Restaurant just off the lobby was excellent. The hotel is historic but completely updated to modern standards including flat screen TV. We loved how the old brick walls were preserved. The staff was exceptionally helpful. We did not like the tiny and very slow elevator. Fortunately our room was on the 2nd floor so we used the stairs exclusively. Also, while the heating in the room was quite good the a/c blew directly down on the bed.

Location and size was very good, boutique type of hotel. Rooms were very small but nicely appointed. Thought the size of room was on the small side for the cost of the hotel.

was a little too hot and I must say the toilet tissue was VERY rough. I would expect a much better grade of tissue for the money that I paid for the room.

I've stayed here a few times. I only live 4 miles away but when I want to treat me n my lady to a spontaneous awesome weekend we go to Hotel Griffon. We also love the Perry's Restaurant in the hotel. Always great food and the friendliest staff bar none.
