Initially, the color scheme of the suite threw me off a bit. I viewed the "green" theme as being drab and dated. However, the room was very clean. There were updated finishings ex. Wallpaper, bathroom. It was great to have a full size fridge in the room as well as the added convenience of a safe. The location is in a very upscale area and is close to transportation (and even Starbucks 3 blocks away). They offer a small complimentary breakfast which most other hotels do not. Parking is expensive, but most hotels charge for it in San Francisco. We left the car in their gated lot and took public transportation the entire time. You can buy passes for transportation (which we got in the camera section at Walgreens). 3 days, $21 which includes buses and cable cars! Well worth it and so much fun! I would definitely go back to this hotel.

Best value hotel in San Francisco.Best location. Friendliest and most helpful staff. Well appointed suite of rooms with magnificent 180 degree view of city skyline and beyond .Impeccable standard of cleanliness . Wonderful housekeeping. Delicious breakfast. Nothing...and I doubt if anybody could find a fault with this marvellous hotel.

Only 1 lift worked. I do not believe in a city as large as San Francisco parts are not readily available. Hence management chose to inconvenience patrons. Very poor.

location Need refurbishment..... since (many) years ago. It is advertised as a luxury hotel. Not at all, by any means. The money I pay got me a large room instead of what I expected. No restaurant and only a cold buffet for breakfast. Location makes it an excellent city trip hotel and the hotel is just fine for that. Just not what I thought I was buying.

Room was clean and staff were friendly. Overall it was good value for money and served my needs very well. It was a reasonable walking distant to my conference centre and I enjoyed the daily walk. Lots of places to eat at nearby and lots of shopping.

We had a lovely bay view room and as it was fleet week this was great. Its also very handy for catching the cable cars. The room was very comfotable and spacious and also good that breakfast was included and we could take it up to the room and enjoy it looking at the super view. We had a frightening experience which was badly handled. The fire alarm went off early hrs Tues morning we tried to get the desk for advice but no answer. The instructions on the door said in the event of fire, instructions would be given over the speaker. We opened the door onto the landing and could smell smoke so started to run down the stairs. We got from the 18th floor to the 10th then met people coming up who assured us it was ok to go back. We met an elderley man and a young couple with 3 children and we helped them back. There was no anouncement of any kind from any staff and no apology or mention of it when we checked out next morning. We were going to have a word with the manager but as there was a fire officer waiting to see him we didnt, but really feel he needs to know how badly it was handled. Had it been more serious I fear some people may not have made it out.

Had a suite on the 18th floor and the view was great. The space compared to a standard room in Union Square is much, much greater. It was also very quiet although you can still get some street noise even that high. A tv in both the living room and bedroom was nice and cable service is good. Ability to fix simple meals. Reasonable rates. Decent and free WiFi. If you are on foot, the walk up the hill from Market or Union Square is significant. Doable but if you are towing a heavy overnighter hail a cab. The walk down isn't so bad. The good rate is in part because of their being near the top of Nob Hill. Most all shopping and dinning is down hill.

Location I have stayed at Grosvenor Suites on six times over the past ten years. I know it is an older facility and hope it will be maintained and upgraded. The bathroom seemed a little shabby in our suite. (It was very clean)

I liked the location of the hotel as it was close to everything and transportation. I did not get the room that I thought I was going to get when I booked on line and I thought the bathroom was too small for the type of room we had.

The roominess of the suites, the friendliness of the staff, particularly the night clerk Ryan who helped with a tricky iPad question. The location couldn't possibly be better for the price

Good location, really spacious room, we lived in the 17th floor, really good view, over looking the downtown sf. I would definitely recommend my friends. Breakfast is very simple but enough, the dinning room is too small to let all people eat inside, so it is ok to take the food back to your room.

- To many hills to climb to get to it! - Urine in elevator both days - Put us in the wrong room after confirming everything before getting key - Wasn't told water would be turned off for several hours - Broken piece of molding on floor in room - Unable to lower heat temp in bedroom as faucet was broken off - Shower head in shower too low

I really enjoyed my stay at Grosvenor. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. My ony concern was the noice level from my neighboring room (they had kids and I could hear pretty much everything).

The Hotel in Nob Hills is one block from cable car lines The first day our room was not made. And the cleanliness of the coffe break room was not per the minimum standards...the floor was sticky (something dropped there and no one has cleaned it for days) , and we saw the attendant getting a used glass, just putting it under the wather and putting it back to be reused (no soap was used) . Elevators were kind of smelly And the rooms needs restoration

“This is a very new hotel with nicely decorated rooms! Breakfast was good and healthy with hams and salad on top of the usual bagels and waffles. Hotel shuttle was useful and convenient for getting to places such as Union Sq and Fisherman's Wharves. On the whole, Cova Hotel exceeded my expectations for its price. I will definitely be back again!” Tan, Singapore |
