The girl at the front desk was nice,
The elevators were terrible. They need another elevator (One for the staff and the other for the guests.)
The location and the staff were awesome!
The hotel next door to them had bar&DJ party all weekend. from 12 noon.until 2:30on the morning the music. Was so loud u could not here the tv in the room or go to sleep early on that side of the hotel also the parking lot was to small for trucks &suv
The room was clean the people. That work was nice
Terrible staff, terrible rooms, terrible facilities, inflexible check in time
Location only plus
I liked everything and I've stayed at a lot of hotels, a lot of them much pricier than this one.
Pool, chairs, beach feet apart. Great value. Great location.
Unfortunately there is the new construction next door.
Beachfront and a bar close to relax an have an adult beverage.
Loud bands at the other hotels on both sides got a little annoying.
The little beach area at the hotel is a really nice feature for days you don't want to make the trek to the actual beach.
Beds were awful and there was loud music at the hotel next door way too late
The location to the beach was walking distance. Restaurants were close. Staff was friendly.
best dollar for your buck
Nothing really. There was construction next door but it didnt bother us. I could see if u didnt have a good view from your room that might be a problem. Overall for the money u couldnt beat it.
Location was awesome. We could drink on the private beach unlike the public beach. Shepphards was next door, we could sit on our balcony look over the ocean and listen to music! Doesn't get any better then that!!! Hungry at 4 am??? go buy ramen noodles across the street at speedway and make up some food!!! u have ur own kitchen with pans, bowls, utensils, etc!!!!
the room smelled really bad. I felt like something was biting me all night and woke up itching real bad. Hoping I did not get bed mites or something.
Front desk gentleman was very nice and was willing to give up his parking space for me since the hotel was full.
There is a paucity of parking but I understand the construction project next door is to be a parking garage so this may soon be a non-issue.
Housekeeping staff did a very nice job of keeping our room tidy. Overall, the entire hotel was well kept. There was no free breakfast or gym facilities but I probably wouldn't have used them anyway. This hotel is a little further down the beach from where we usually stay but at a substantial savings. We were still close enough to shopping and restaurants that we walked everywhere.
Pool was dirty
Noise from construction.
We stayed here in Mid-March and the staff was so friendly! The rooms are a little dated but the hotel is a great deal and there is a small kitchen in each room, which was very nice to have while staying for 4 nights. Our room was clean and we never had an issue with anything! The view of our room was on the limited side and there is construction. We stayed during spring break and spring training (that's why we traveled), so needless to say Shephard's next door was at it's peak. If you kept your door shut we couldn't hear anything, we kept our door open for the sound of the water and the gulf breeze. Construction workers woke us up each morning at 7am but that's not the hotel's fault. We learned the hotel is owned by a family since th the early 90's and they have refused to sell because they enjoy the business so much! We would stay herin again! And the private beach is great, it's not the huge beach but it's nice to have a small beach to layout on and pick up seashells!
the hotel was old, major construction was taking place next door. that's a distraction from the vacation atmosphere.
the Gulfview is in the heart of the south beach of Clearwater. lots of entertainment and, food within walking distance.
Building needed repair. Door to room wouldn't lock at times, looks like someone had tried to kick in door.Price is high for quality of room. Reason we booked here was it was the only place that didn't have a minimal nights stay. Other places had a 3 night minimal stay. only there for one night.
location was good, near shopping centers and restaurants.
location, cleanliness, friendly staff, music from next door,
It was spring break. Hotels adjacent to attracted younger drinking crowds but walk to pier 60 which no alcohol on beach so better family experience. Early morning before drunks woke on hotel beach very nice.Found shells and sting Ray
Dated accommodations. No breakfast. Construction no view of water big sand pile. Smelly.
The pool and the beach
Refrigerator didn't work. We were woke up early by construction that we were not told was going on and when we asked to be moved or for a partial refund, anything. The "manager" was very rude and did nothing but get mad at us! Worst customer service iv ever had. And there parking was over full every night.
The conditions were terrible especially for the price. Within the first five minutes of being there we began looking for other places to stay. The rooms smelled terrible like bleach and other chemicals. Sitting there for a few minutes caused headaches, the sheets were dirty, the door didn't lock, the pool was filthy. We are looking for full reimbursement from this hotel. They charged us a penalty fee of over 300 dollars for terrible conditions. We spent most of the night outside and probably a total of two hours in the room because the smell was terrible. Bill was very rude and had a too bad attitude. The manager on staff was more understanding but said we needed to talk to his boss about getting the rest of the fee reimbursed. She was supposed to call us back and never did. Worst hotel ever. Also my cousin woke up with bites on her legs, looks like bed bugs? We contacted booking.com also to report and get full reimbursement.
This hotel is literally on top of a giant whole in the ground of constant construction starting 6am, on one side and the biggest and noisiest bar "Sheppard's" on the other. Hotel inside is dingy, unclean and unsafe for kids (in our case, teenage girls) with access doors left open to the outside, Sharing the sand w/ Sheppard'S...
The location of the beach outside is at the end of the beach right were it turns into the inner coastal and across form sand key. Very Pretty!!! Unfortunately, ruined by the litter from the biggest beach bar next door, straws, cups, butts........ So sad.!!!!
odorr in room,1 bed was like a hammock very deep in he middle, the hotel next door was so loud (and I do mean loud )starting at 6pm till 12midnight you couldn't get a good nites sleep,no breakfast or computer to use in the lobby
I didn't like the fact that I was injured the day before we arrived (rented a scooter...be careful on those things!!) so I could only enjoy the view from our room.
Crystal was the lady we first saw who was at the front desk. She is awesome! The view from our room was great. Local bands playing next door. Good stuff.
