I don't understand that a Hotel catering to this type of demographics doesn't have a wonderful in house gym! With the best fitness equipment available. I know you are affiliated with a Gym nearby, but having to go out is not the same as in house..

I liked the design of the hotel and liked that they used Aesop products The room was TINY! The smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Food and alcohol was SO EXPENSIVE!! Location was not amazing, kind of in the middle of nowhere

I loved the atmosphere, the services and the brunch with live jazz. Will come back soon. Rooms are compact. But I don't think that's a big problem since they are charming and confortable, just have to live with it.

I liked the rooftop pool and the rooftop resaurant. Our room was a little small. Not much counter space in the bathroom. I like the shower is on display in the rest of the room, but a separate stall or small room for the bathroom would be nice.

Everything was fantastic. Stayed there for a week, over New Year's Eve. The room was gorgeous, staff was friendly and was helpful. Don't forget to check the rooftop bar and restaurant... With swimming pool!

My primary reason for staying at the Americano was its proximity to the McKittrick/Sleep No More. It's basically next door so this worked very well. I also found the bed (futon-style) to be *very* comfortable. The look of the room is pleasant and the view over the city was nice. The guest amenities, such as the Aesop toiletries, were very high quality. Space in the room is a bit of an issue. I constantly felt like I was having to step up, around, over things because there wasn't a lot of unused space and not really enough places to stash away your luggage if you have a full suitcase. I've stayed in a similar sized room elsewhere and not had this same issue. Also, I think because the floors are concrete and the walls/ceiling are bare and high, the room does not do much to dampen sound. So, everything you do in the room feels loud (and you do pick up a bit of noise from other rooms as well). During my stay there was a fire alarm. I was a bit slow to respond but when I reached the bottom of the stairs a staff member informed me that it had been an accident so an evacuation wasn't necessary (I could hear approaching sirens though this might have been a coincidence). I was a bit surprised that they weren't going through with the evacuation anyway or that they hadn't made an announcement through the hotel to let guests know that evacuation was not required.

Nice rooms, good beds, friendly staff, next to high line. Breakfast ok, but nothing special. The rooms are small. Too small for working in it.

Seemed like a cold place in the interior of the room - no natural light at all which made the place pretty creepy.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The design of the hotel was spectacular. The "court" view was not very good. The view out the window was of a boarded up window on the next building.

beautiful decor, attention to detail, close to the High Line, bar on the roof was hoping to use the pool in September but it has no heat and seems a little awkward anyway to swim in a bar area.

The staff were very professional whilst also being cool. It felt as though we were being taken care of by friends. The rooms felt spacious for their size. Good amenities. Our room was next to the roomservice staff's station who seemed to be using their loud walkie talkies quite a lot. Not too disturbing.

The rooms were quirky and well designed I loved the overall interior of the hotel- the smell, the furniture, the lights. the staff were extremely helpful and friendly the energy and the vibe of the hotel was wonderful. the upstairs bar/ pool area is absolutely stunning as well. The bikes!- (we only found this out on the final day of our stay but what a great idea) the only thing i could suggest is having a designated place or furniture peice to place luggage on in the room. we found that there wasnt anywhere to put our large suitcases but we made do and still loved the rooms!

Not much. Maybe discovering a less known part of nyc, Chelsea (though the hotel is located to the North, not really the core area). Nice view from the room terrace but this is very small and You would rather go there early (like, 6 am with the cleaning staff) if you want to enjoy the view. Very little. A very pretentious place, not worth the price. As said by many, the rooms are very, very small. The "zen" decoration confines to scarcity. You keep looking desperately for a place to lay your things, be it a suitcase or a toothbrush and the place soon becomes a mess. Actually it seems that the architect put all his efforts to make your life difficult, especially in the bathroom. A 2 inches wide shelf (very design, polished steel, yes...) is all what you get to leave yout toilet bag. The towels'shelf is 6 feet high and you need to climb on the toilets to get them. Only one hook, occupied by the bath robe (only one, very "fashion", in jean's, I let you imagine how absorbent it is to water). The fancy shower delivers a feeble rain with which I was unable to wash and rinse my long hair. The glass casing of the bathroom is absolutely transaprent when lit from inside and you can watch your partner from your bed if he or she decides to have a pee during the night. Ecc., Ecc. The so called "swimming pool" on the roof is a mere bath tub, do not trust the photos. As for the staff, it is also the "zen" sort: smile is not an option. I had to ask 3 times to get an extra duvet-cover for the bed (the one available, also "zen", was narrower than the bed and did not cover 2 persons, we were awfully cold the first night). Breakfasr maddly expensive and scarce, too. Last but not least, on check out they tried to charge twice the rate agreed on booking.com. I wonder what category of guests they are aiming at, must be a very narrow age range of Yupies (from the age point of view, we former Young... Hated it, and our children, hopefuly future Young... Just the same). For the avoidance of doubt, I am not a difficult grumpy sort, we booked other hotels in similar categories during the same holiday, for which I will be pleased to make very positive comments.
