Great Location, Great View from private deck. Great "Bed" for a "B&B."
But No Breakfast.
Loved the comfort and the view!
Beautiful view of harbor, wonderful deck for early morning/late night lounging, short walk to village and restaurants.
Can't say how great this place was we've been going to rockport 20 yrs this place is one of the best
Very clean, great location close to all shops and restaurants.
View of harbor misrepresented. More comfortable seating in the living area would have been nice in the apartment. Better television.
The view and location were great
Absolutely perfect location--beautiful view, short walk to town. Room and deck were lovely. Yard was gorgeous. Hosts were delightful.
What a relaxing and incrediable time, there are not enough good things to say, awsum place and wonderful people. We will defently be back
great location a short walk to everything. the deck off our room was perfect for a glass of wine while watching the sunset. owners were very friendly and accomodating. i highly recommend this guest house.
My husband and I made a last minute decision to travel to Rockport for "First Night." We could not be happier with our choice to visit this beautiful village and stay at Halyard Guest House. The room was spacious and cozy. Everything is in walking distance and the view is marvelous. We had a lovely stay.
The from our room was spectacular. We felt cozy and at home there! The hosts made u feel like long lost friends, we could have sat and visisted for hours.
In don't know if I can really count this as something I didn't like but after meeting our hosts I found myself wishing we had the opportunutity to dine with them at least once daily, possibly breakfast before the day started! Only because I would have enjoyed spending more time with them learning about this part of the Us!
Great location, very clean and beautiful view from room.
Bathroom across hall outside of room.
Hosts were excellent! Dawn could not have been more accommodating. Will stay at Halyard House in the future when in Rockport, MA.
Location was 1-2 blocks from shops, art galleries, restaurants, walking paths, park, fishing harbor, fresh seafood market. Warm, cozy, private rooms. Porches to read or paint. Very safe for solo getaway.
The rooms were immaculate and very beautifully decorated. We could not have asked for a more lovely place.
The owners could not have been more accomodating. They suggested a restaurant and even made the reservation for us. It was the best steak I have had that I did not make myself! Upon departure Jon offered to let us stay beyond the 11:00 check out time until late afternoon if we wanted to as there was no booking for the appartment until the next day. Very convenient to downtown. We will be back.
Nothing we can think of.
If you are looking for a private apartment with some facilities for self catering and a lot of privacy this is excellent for you. The apartment is described as a studio in a guest house but it is more like a separate unit with it's own entrance. A very tidy and comfortable unit, however, it isn't really sure of it's identity, not really a hotel/guest house but not quite a completely equipped self catering unit. There is no washing machine which you would need if you intended to stay for long, no saucepans. There is a frying pan, ample cutlery etc and loads of very nice china, coffee machine, microwave and toaster. The 'studio' is nicely furnished with lots of finishing touches including ornaments and 'nick nacks'. The bathroom is equipped with an old shower unit which is very efficient and clean. The studio is very well located being a short walk into the centre of Rockport and the seafront. We did enjoy our stay here and would return for a longer period if a washing machine and better cooking pans were supplied.
We did like the apartment for what it is but had expected more of a hotel feel and would have preferred more contact with the owners and other guests. Rockport is a lovely little town/village especially after the crowds had disappeared after the weekend. We visited in October and, unfortunately, a lot of the restaurants had closed for the season or closed early - by about five pm. There doesn't appear to be anywhere in the town to get grocery shopping and definitely nowhere to buy wine or beer - unless you are eating in one of the restaurants that has a liquor licence. Having said the above, Rockport did feel slightly discouraging to 'outsiders' in as much as there were many places to park for 'residents only' with most other parking places being on meters. Best to visit without a car.
This was a wonderful get away! Plan to come back!! Location!
Great views from the balcony
Did not serve breakfast, Bathroom was not part of the guestroom
