I didn't like. 1. After paying 800 for 2 night. Parking isn't included. U have to pay 16.00 a day to park. 2. I wish I knew there was a body building contest going on next door. I was told by the lady checking me in to fight my way through the crowd.p
Liked being next to visotor's center, museum, trolley and several excellent restaurants. Could walk everywhere or take trolly.
Had separate parking and cost, though conveniently next door.
Rooms are a good size, great breakfast.
Sofa's need updating
Generally good hotel room bit small
Price was a Lillie high but what you might expect in Charleston
Room was on the ground floor facing busy street.
Location and the staff! The staff was exceptional especially Valerie!!!
Pillows and mattress were a bit soft.
My estimate for price at booking.com was way below what the hotel charged my credit card. I never received a paper receipt with total bill which was convenient for them because I saw the charge on my credit card once I got home
Location, staff, breakfast, room comfort
Noisy senior patrons shouting in corridors until almost 1 am and then up and at it again early shouting birds at 7am. These folks should know better.
Hotel is right across street from visitor center which was very helpful in booking tours!
Hotel is too far from center of town & free trolley transportation does not run after 8pm so need to take cab or pedi bikes back to hotel after dinners in town!
Staff was incredible
Excellent transportation and restaurants within walking distance!
We were very impressed with the value at this Hampton Inn--at the time of our booking it was about $100/night cheaper than any other hotel we could find downtown. Because breakfast is included we saved even more. The staff were excellent and the facilities were clean. The location is a great home base in downtown Charleston for your stay -- easily walkable to major attractions and right in the middle of the best shopping and dining options.
It is a Hampton Inn so it does not have the historic charm of the boutique hotels in the neighborhood. But you save a lot of money without sacrificing safety, convenience or cleanliness.
Beds were outstandingly comfortable. Pool was a nice surprise and very welcome interlude between long days and longer nights. Staff super sweet. Busy for a reason. Better than usual example of the Hampton chain.
Not a complaint, just a suggestion: add a small tiki bar near pool, perhaps just afternoons/cocktail hour (not that Charleston is lacking tap rooms).
Great location across from visitors center and trolleys.
Complimentary breakfast was delicious.
No valet parking. Garage not connected to the hotel. No complimentary beverages in evening. Embassy Suites next door seemed nicer.
The staff, particularly at reception were very friendly and helpful. The location, within walking distance of the sights of historic Charleston.
With in walking distance,(for us) of everything we wanted to do and across the street from the free shuttle for downtown. Very clean, friendly helpful staff at desk, comfortable room, with a great mattress, and a fridge. Good Wifi.
pay for parking. outdoor pool and it rained while we were there. great chair with ottoman for reading but no lamp. We stayed in room till 2pm one day and room didn't get cleaned even tho staff was still there.
Breakfast was the best to start the day off.
The location, breakfast, beds were very comfortable. Staff was very helpful, across the board!
The only thing I did not like was being put in handicap enabled room. Mainly because of the bathroom. There were grab bars everywhere near the toilette and in the shower, as well as a shower seat (folded up) and and hand held shower head that tended to not be straight on (turned slightly to right). It affected the aesthetic of room, looking rather institutional. Since my friend and I both work in healthcare, it looked very similar to work, and I was on vacation. I would just recommend not putting people in the handicapped rooms unless they need that level of modification. I did not complain to front desk, as I did not want to have repack and change rooms.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good. Location was good and can easily catch the free trolley
I would have like the window to be able to open. I prefer fresh air. The refrigerator in the room was noisy when trying to sleep and the water pressure in the shower was poor.
The lobby area with coffee all morining and afternoon. The breakfast.
Room smelled a bit musty when we checked in. But cleared out when we put a/c on.
Great location in the historic district.
The smell indicated the room or ventilation system was moldy. It aggravated my allergies. There were no ventilation fans in the bathroom.
Close to Marion Square/ Farmer's Market on Saturday morning Walking distance to much of King Street
I really like the location
The sheet would not stay on the bed. Could not get ice water, even during breakfast, or bottled. Traffic was load.
