Staff was wonderful and room quiet. Location great with visitor center right across the street and free trolls right out front door.
Very convenient. Parking garage next door, city trolleys across the street. Easy walk down Meeting Street to the heart of the historic area. Very clean and attractive room. Highly recommended.
If there was a bar in the hotel or a fridge in the room I would have rated this higher.
Hotel is well located and the staff was great.
Great location....friendly and helpful staff.......very clean and comfortable hotel
Having to pay 350.00 a night which didn't include parking. Not enough chairs in room, only 1 trash can! Did not get room we asked for.
Location, friendly staff, breakfast on premises, lovely courtyard.
The only thing that was not pleasant in our stay, was the young lady who worked as the parking lot attendant. I'm not really sure that she is an employee of Hampton Inn, or the city, but she is rude. I wasn't aware that there was a $16 cost daily to park, so I had a couple of questions. She was very offended, apparently, and her response was just plain rude. Then, once we got past that first time, she seemed a little nicer, until the day we checked-out to leave. I really didn't understand that we had to pay $16 again just to leave the premises, so I questioned her about that. She was once again, Rude. She challenged me to find any place in Charleston that wouldn't charge me to park. All I asked her was did she understand that we were not returning, but checking out. She said, "I don't care, you owe $16." I'm sorry, that's rude, and she has no place working with the public, if she cannot show a little more tolerance for a simple question. But, as I stated earlier, perhaps she doesn't even work for your business, but rather the City.
There was a lady, who worked the check-in counter who was so extremely nice and helpful. I believe her name was Kristen (not positive about this. She had blonde hair), and she was absolutely wonderful to me and my daughter. She was always giving us excellent tips on restaurants to visit, and so quick to always offer us directions to any place we wanted to visit. She is an asset to your company.
The only negative was the street noise, but after the first few hours, I hardly noticed
The staff was so helpful with dinner reservations, directions and helpful hints! Always fresh coffee waiting in the lobby for us! Our room was very comfortable with plenty of room! Not at all cramped like some hotel rooms! The location was convenient forany direction you wanted to go!
Staff was helpful and knowledgeable.
Not much - the view from the room could have been better.
The sizeable, well-maintained room, generous breakfast and helpful staff.
Superb staff - friendly and eager to provide service. Lots of restaurants close by for dinner. We walked everywhere.
Room was too hot and could not get comfortable
bed covers way to heavy I kept waking up in a sweat
No lounge area
Water pipes were a little noisy from other floors / rooms.
Perfect location for our planned activities. Clean Rooms and friendly staff. Coffee in the lobby 24/7. Great for a 24/7 coffee drinker like me.
We did pay a lot for our room. The hotel was full of tours. The room had a fusty smell and was a little tired.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The location was very good. The free trollies that bring you around town pick up right outside this hotel as its opposite the visitor center. The room was decent. The breakfast was decent. It is right around the corner from a host of restaurants and bars.
the excellent location
The staff is wonderful.
Parking not included and expensive. Would have been helpful to know before arriving.
Great location and very friendly staff made for a fantastic stay. Loved the breakfast that was included each day.
Great proximity to all the Charleston has to offer
Air conditioning system is ancient and didn't even work in first room -- we had to change rooms at 2:30am in morning due to excessive heat.
Staff was very good and tried to help as best they could. and took appropriate steps to ameliorate poor condition in room.
The people at this location were great. They answered all our question and had some good conversations about the city and how to get around.
There was no obvious front door to this hotel. The main entrance was off a driveway leading to a parking garage. The address took us to a small door with no handle, so that was very weird and made for a questionable first impression.
In a great, convenient location for walking to places. Inside was beautiful and spacious. Very nice rooms and great breakfast!
room was small and construction made it noisy
location and staff
First night, had a room with broken down, squeaky bed, and something in the HVAC system emitted a loud bang every 20-30 minutes. Moved to a different room second night. No banging, and bed was much better.
Staff was most helpful, courteous and accommodating.
