Hampton Inn Manhattan-35th Street/Empire State Building  

A very functional hotel.Best location. We had to take a train to Boston and no taxi was ready give us a ride. We simply walked with the baby and two suitcases to the station. its that close to the Penn Station.

Not the best place to stay if you have very young kids. We had a 10 month old and had to come down all the way to fetch hot water for his food and milk as the room int have a water kettle. The staff is OK. Not the most social. The no-nonsense types but courteous. The concierge is pretty much useless, the lady can instead stand as a mannequin at the Macy's. The Cabs outside prefer rides to the airport, so anywhere else you have to take the sub or simply walk.

They provided a great free breakfast and ice water, coffee, tea and hot chocolate throughout the day. The staff was friendly. The hotel was small.

The purpose of the trip was to see some shows and visit museums so the hotel was not in the ideal location, but that's not the hotel's fault.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful The location was great, close to the subway and close to time square. I appreciated that the duvet covers were washed between guests. The breakfast was okay but we stayed for 9 days so got a bit repetetive.

I felt like the concierge was just there to make money and was not at all helpful. She was condescending and rude. We ended up getting out tickets to shows and ballgames over the internet rather than using her service. The add did not say anything about the Herald station being within one block so we expected to have to walk farther to the Subway. It was a nice surprise, but would have been nice to know ahead of time.

That the room was quite clean and efficient for a business traveler, small amenities such as shampoo, shower gel all there which I needed. Comforter and sheets smelled fresh and were comfortable. Being right near Herald Square, great for shopping.

The mattress was quite soft. The curtains didn't cover the windows adequately and in Manhattan where lights are profuse it made the room too bright for sleeping and I was on the 2nd floor making that worse. Also the bathroom door would not stay open, not really a big deal for me but the room was designed for handicapped access and so someone with a wheelchair or walker would have struggled with this and shouldn't have to. That door should be leveled so it doesn't close automatically.

Its clean and the staffs were nice and friendly. The location is excellent and accessible to subway trains, resto and shopping malls.

The rooms are a little bit small and the lobby is not that spacious.

Staff members are very pleasant and always accommodating. Great service, fresh towels and sheets daily. Housekeepers and maintenance staff are friendly and helpful also.

Excellent hotel. Staff friendly & helpful. Location suberb for visiting city. Rooms clean & comfortable, every detail attended to. Buffet breakfast provided including the option of grab & go. Bagged breakfasts for people on the move.

I like everything about our stay at the Hampton Inn at 35th St. All of the staff from the desk reception, maintenance and cleaning staff were very friendly and professional! My daughter loved the complimentary hot chocolate. She even commented "Mom, I really like this hotel" and she's only 14. The beds were comfy and everything was cleaned everyday. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and different each morning. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and would highly recommend it to family and friends.

Location was great, just 5 min to Times Square and the subway station in 50 meters, Generous breakfast. Clean and comfortable room.

Main desk employees were nice but too busy to even ask my questions and inquires for transportation to the airport when checking out. In particular there was one employee who was not busy at the front desk who keep on wondering around doing nothing, I approached him and he didn't wanted to help me with the transportation inquire, he was rude to me and very ugly. after everybody stop and stare at us talking, nobody approached me later to help me. We had to sit outside and try to figure it out looking on our phones and rush to get the bus at Central station.... That was extremely unkind on their side!!!

The location is excellent and the breakfast buffet also. The beds were comfortable and all the staff friendly and helpful. Will definetly stay there again on my next trip to New York.

Lots of noisy teenagers spread over the entire roomlevels slamming doors everytime they were leaving or coming in.

A very clean Hotel in a fantastic location, very central in Manhattan, with easy access to all the sights, subway station just a few yards from hotel. The staff were all excellent and very helpful. 10/10.

The hotel was central to all our needs, clean and staffed with friendly people.

Not being able to get a table for the complimentary breakfast for our family whilst single people sat at tables for four was MORE than annoying, to the point the first day we walked out without eating, not what we had planned at all.

Staff were very attentive to the needs of guests. They were very polite, too.

A bit expensive for the amenities though breakfast was very generous.

Location, midtown ! Time square is 5 minutes walk ! Very near to a subway station , a couple of blocks from Penn Station which comes directly from JFK through Jamaica station, very nice breakfast, Cofee and tea free 24/24!

No facilities, no mini bar in the room! If it was a little cheaper, then I would say it is perfect, other than this it was good !

The room was tidy and clean. The power charge unit with usb plugs and electrical sockets was great. The bathroom was proportionally bigger than the room. Hot water was never an issue. The housekeeper gave us plenty of towels and toiletries, and when we asked for a hair dryer, we got it. The complimentary breakfast was ok. The wifi was ok too. The very best of the hotel is the location. In the Garment Center with a subway station just in the nearest corner. A short walk and you are in the Theater District, Midtown, Chelsea or Murray Hill.

We were three in a tiny room. The room was packed with two double beds, a drawer, a desk, a chair, a "kind of a joke" of a closet and a bedside table. We could barely moved around. Beds were not comfortable. We found the mattresses way too soft. The shower was disappointing. We were in the second floor so we did not use the elevators but twice, after check-in and before check-out. Both times we had to wait and wait to get into an elevator with our luggage.
