We stayed in Chelsea to be close to our son who lives there. The location was excellent for our visit as well as still being convenient for shopping , restaurants and going to shows.

The complementary breakfast and helpful staff. Great location and great value. Nice to have coffee/tea/hot chocolate available in reception 24hours in addition to coffee machine in room.

Everything was good. The location was good for the purpose of my business.

Anyone could ell that the doors had been pried on at one time. This was the only thing that made me feel a bit uneasy.

The hotel is a bit small (rooms, too), but this is typical for NYC hotels. But the rooms are modern, clean, have nice bath products. There are free hot drinks and cookies in the afternoon, and the free breakfast in the morning was the best! A make-your-own waffle bar, tons of fresh fruit, yogurt, delicious baked goods, eggs, good coffee. We were sad we only stayed here one night. It's close to several subway stations and Barcade is on the same street (bar full of old video games from the 80s, very cool).

We got stuck in the elevator and had to climb up about a foot and a half after the door was pried open. Made me nervous to ride the rest of the time, but we were on the 16th floor and couldn't avoid it.

Hampton Inn Chelsea is situated in the middle of Manhattan on the corner of 6th Avenue - it means you can go by foot easily to Time Square, 5th Avenue shopping, Soho or Tribeca. And if you would like to use metro there is a 23rd Str station just around the corner. The room is not the biggest, but it's Manhattan. The bed was very OK and there's everything you'll need for a pleasant stay incl. free wifi, safe and cable channels in the room. The staff was very helpful and I did not face any problems. Looking from Europe the cost was a bit too high for that kind of hotel, but it's Manhattan where accommodation is really expensive and if you would compare with other possibilities it was OK.

The air con was far too noisy, so I switched it off - luckily the weather was not very hot or cold. Breakfast was OK in terms of quantity (omlette, sausages, toast, juice, apples/bananas, waffle machine, yoghurt, coffee etc) but I would not dare to say that all this (except fruits and yoghurt) was very tasty by the European standards. And eating hotel breakfast from plastic plates with a plastic fork was quite a weird experience.

view on lower Manhattan from room 1908 is fabulous! everything was fine (breakfast, room, bed, safe in the room, tv, bathroom, etc) except:

no mini bar in the room, i.e. no fridge
