I was very pleasantly surprised with this place. There was complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate all day, free cookies at reception, a bar with happy hour, and HBO (I guess all hotels have this but I wasn't expecting it). Everyone was nice. And it was very cheap. Neutrogena products, more than I needed, and totally great. Really was not expecting much for what I paid. The breakfast was included, looked good, but I was running late so missed it.
There was a little cosmetic rug issue at the door (like ripped carpet) and though the beds were great and totally comfortable, I found that the comforters were weirdly lumpy. I still slept like a baby, but super sensitive people might complain.
The air conditioner didnt work had a man for a while trying to fix it. Awkward with him in the room for so long.
Loved the cookies at check in, and the free breakfast was handy. This hotel is in between two train lines that access all the major tourist destinations. It's right in the shopping and dining precinct in SoHo. It is excellent value for money, and we would definitely stay again!
The room was small, the air conditioner was loud to the point of waking us up every time it went on overnight, and the shower had very little water pressure.
Front door opens to steet leading to Holland Tunnel. Always many, impossible for cabs to get to it.
Location, & very helpful staff.
Shower a little slow running
Not a bad price for where it was at. Good thing it was around the corner and some blocks down from a bar-restaurant that I was going there for a concert!
What I didn't like was that it doesn't have it's own parking or underground parking lot.
AC in my room was loud and/or broken
Staff were amazing and very friendly ! Breakfast was also really good
a bit rundown
The breakfast is delicious!
They don't have a shuttle to airport.
The roof view and the room breakfast was good too
The location The traffic was so bad over there not easy to get too
Location in NY Rooftop space
Non adjusting fan on air con
Parking is very dangerous there too hard to get in and out of the lot. If you are not really careful you will end up in the Holland Tunnel over to New Jersey at a cost of $15 to get back Hotel is really in a bad location Rooms are very very small at an expensive rate Alice Merritt Island Florida
Location is relatively close to Canal Street Subway station with convenient links to different parts of NYC. Room was reasonably sized and the air conditioning was working well.
The breakfast was very basic and hotel was a bit too expensive.
Why doesn't the hotel have a service elevator. 19 floors, two elevators, service people had to share with customers. Not good. When I arrived I asked for a room on a high floor, knowing I would like some light into the room. The person at the desk gave me a room on the 8th floor facing a brick wall. I went back downstairs and was given a room on the 18th floor, with two large windows, plenty of sun. Why couldn't that be done the first time? Although I travel a lot, I very rarely stay in hotels in NYC (since I have family and friends there). This was my second time staying in a hotel. I felt the room was not as clean as it should have been. There was a lot of furniture in such a small room. A sofa, desk, chair, armoire, sofa, bed, two end tables, standing lamp. So crowded. I did ask for a small fridge while I was there, the person did bring it up to the room, but did not PLUG IT IN. Someone did com up and plug it in, since I could not find a plug with all the furniture in such a small room. I was in room 1800.
The air conditioning control and response was great
Location, complimentary breakfast
No Private balcony in my room as advertised. Apparently only 3 rooms with a private balcony.
Liked the location - easy to get to many interesting places by foot. Also, close to public transit and easy cab ride to airports. Fairly quiet location and comfortable rooms. The staff was friendly, rooms clean and overall a pleasant enough stay.
One elevator broke and guests were left with one elevator to service a full hotel. Also, the complimentary hot breakfast was mediocre - the boiled eggs were frozen, no gluten free options, only low-fat yogurt (with splenda) offered, fresh fruit was out once out of 4 mornings. Our first night was overbooked and our room was given away before we arrived; we had 3 adults in one bed that night as there were no other options but to "sleep on blankets on the floor", as suggested; they reduced the rest of the nights by $50…
Location was amazing, service was great. Breakfast eating area was great
Iron didn't work :(
Front desk clerk and other staff were very pleasant during our stay. Soon after we checked in, we got a call from the front desk lady asking if we were happy with the room end everything else. Our room was a part of adjoining room and we could hear next door people talking and their child crying. I wasn't happy with the room and we told the clerk about that and she immediately changed our room. The room we moved was more comfortable and we were very happy with the room we stayed.
Very helpful and friendly staff on repeated visits Great location for exploring Soho Comfortable beds Good amenities (all the comforts of home) Good rates Good breakfast options Clean
Air conditioning is noisy, although it didn't keep me awake as happens sometimes in other hotels. Elevator is a bit slow, and one broke on my last day there, which caused problems. Staff was on top of it though, so probably fixed it quickly.
Room, Breakfast, internet, staff
Front rooms are very noisy, at all times since Watts streets is the entrance to Holland Tunnel
Staff was great Very Clean
Excellent city view, great location and very comfy bed.
The front door was loose even when we were in the room. The dead bolt didn't secure the room-door was just as loose.Didn't feel like we were secure.
