Score from 126 reviews Very good
Clean, great fitness center, pool, continental breakfast and close to the River Walk. Great value for what we paid.
However, we did have to pay for parking.
I booked thru booking.com and the check in is different from your check in time. Would make it easier if everyone could get on the same page.
The vicinity to the Riverwalk was great. Staff was friendly and extremely knowledge
Room key didn't work initially Spit in elevator
We were given a room that someone had and almost walked in on them at midnight. Then had to go back to desk and wait a long time while they figured it out. He even called that room to ask them about if they switched rooms. Finally got another room. Got there and keys wouldnt work. An employee walking by took care of it. He was great. Breakfast not good. Bed not comfortable but comforter was comfy and room got nice and cold. Breakfast was terrible.
Hotel is in short walking distance to The Alamo and city center. Continental breakfast was good. Room was clean and fair for the rate.
The hotel is not 'new'. Carpets in the common areas are a bit worn down. Fridge and AC are noisy. I have seen better hotels for the rate.
Our room was never cleaned while we stayed there. 2 nights 3 days.
My 10 year old daughter and I were ready to go to bed when she spotted an ant on her bed. I killed it, but she spotted another on the carpet. Two might be a coincidence but then there was a third. These were big carpenter ants too. We had to move at 11:30 pm. The next room we couldn't get into because the safety lock had been put on from the inside and had come loose. A maintenance man had to come while we were standing in the hallway in our pajamas and fix it. Then the keys wouldn't work! And every time we came back to the room we would have to get our keys re keyed. The air conditioning was noisy and the toilet was in constant danger of overflowing. Maintenance had to be called again for that. Then our hair dryer quit working! Well, they just took it off the wall. They left us one but it was in a black pouch that blended so well with the vanity that we didn't see it until it was time to check out. I had to be there for three days for a convention. I don't normally stay there but I fooled around and couldn't get reservations at where I normally stay. I won't ever make that mistake again!
Very friendly and attentive staff.
A little pricey
Location and cleanliness
Bed mattress was hard as a brick.
I like the fact that we we're close 15 mins driving distance from everything we planned for that particular trip
Location and staff
The ac when operating had a moldy and mildew odor. Needs to be serviced.
Beds to small
Excellent breakfast and pleasant sitting area. Car park area behind secure fence.
I like that the hotel had self parking & you could come & go as you wanted without having to tip a valet each time.
We got to our hotel very late so wanted to sleep in a little before our 11:00 check out. By 9:45, we had someone from the hotel staff knock on our door 3 different times & there was no "do not disturb" sign available.
The staff were kind and attentive. The rooms were clean.
The hotel halls and rooms smelled. I want ppv movies.
Reliable, clean, convenient
Seems a bit worn down. Beds were ready for replacement. Bath linens were worn. A bit noisy, probably related location.
The staff when I checked in a bit rude not very informative, no eye contact at all when I asked a question about parking.
The staff was very friendly and polite. The greeted us all the time. The breakfast buffet was awesome. They had lemon water available all the time. It was a very clean Inn and the rooms were as well.
That we were not told in advance that we would be charged $15.00 a day for parking. It seems like the hotel should include parking in their price. The other drawback for me is the pillows were not firm.
Our room was clean and quiet. The bathroom was larger than most bathrooms in a standard hotel room.
During my stay 5 busloads of high school teens around 14 yrs registered at the hotel, shouting, screaming, yelling, running the hallways up and down, banging doors summarily extremely noisy until 11.00 pm ( 23 .00 hours). My appeal to the hotel staff to intervene were repeatedly ignored. I had to find a teacher myself who ventually managed to subdue the unruly crowds. The hotel was a pure madhouse. This hotel is not suited for a civilized stay.
breakfast was great clean rooms gated parking good location
This Hampton Inn was the worst one I have ever stayed at. I was extremely disappointed and feel like the amount of money I paid was a rip off.
The river walk, old buildings the tower of America was beautiful in the evening to look at the city the food wasn't all that great but they had a great staff and great wine list.
The beggars on the street they can be quite rude and obnoxious if you tell them no !
I love Hampton Inn's, they are clean, quiet, and usually the staff are above and beyond nice.
It was not the hotel itself it was the policy of not being able to cancel. And the 15 dollar parking fee. We are already paying for the room and the outrageous taxes then to tack on another 15 dollars to park on your property seriously.
