property looked and felt like it needed an upgrade.
Location in center of Providence Breakfast (as usually good and standard in the Hampton Inn and Suites) Breakfast Hall is an old Chapel/Church (very nice) Parking right next to Hotel (Valet $25 though) Rooms have good size as usual in Hampton Inns
Bed was a little soft, but OK.
Easy walking distance to many restaurants and historic areas. Beds extremely comfortable. Included breakfast is great and offers many options.
The staff was very pleasant and very helpful at all times
Room and staff support
Located in financial district most stores closed
The people were VERY nice, the sheets were soft, the wifi and breakfast were free, and the location was convenient for both downtown and the East Side. It was very quiet at night, and yet I was blocks from some good restaurants and bars. Terrific!
Lack of room safe.
Amazing location, great customer service, super kind and responsive staff, free wifi, free breakfast
$25 for parking was a bummer as there is a lot adjacent to the hotel that provides $10 overnight parking. Also seemed like there was loud construction or trash trucks in the morning--could hear it through my earplugs but you are in the city
Location, access, spacious room, good breakfast and free wifi.
Quiet and spacious rooms; Great breakfast room in historical building
Location was great, near everything. Great free breakfast.
The front desk staff was useless when we had some questions. My husband forgot his brand new iphone 5 phone charger in our room, called the same day we left. No help at all even trying to help us. Tried a different shift hoping to get a better response, even worse this time the person put us on hold and never came back to the phone. WOW what a bunch of rude, ignorant people they have working there.
size of room, location, in an historic building well done. really it couldn't have been any better was a perfect choice especially for waterfire!
Great location and nice property.
The staff was terrific. The room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable.
The view from our room was a parking structure just a few feet away. Room had little natural light.
The location is excellent. Once we parked, we walked to Brown University, the bridge to watch Waterfire and all the local restaurants.
Beds were very comfortable
nearly everything else
insufficient information from front desk on Wi-Fi access (they simply disclosed the password without explaining that a username and additional information was necessary), and that there were no instructions available in the binder in the room.
Beautiful atrium, restored former bank, helpful staff, rooms were comfortable, location met our needs, easy walk to restaurants, theatres, historical sights.
Great location to visit WaterFire. Neat old building totally revamped into lovely hotel. Amazing corner suite. Breakfast was fine.
Great free breakfast (better than expected)! Love free wifi
Excellent location, pleasant staff, nice room.
Too much hard sell - I don't need fake Post-it messages telling me the sheets have been changed - I don't need to wade through the list of movies to buy before I watch TV. I also didn't like using my room key in the elevator. Hire a watchman if there's an issue. I also don't like a charge of $240 in case I break something, even if it is subsequently rescinded.
Helpful about storing luggage after I checked out.
A bit pricey for me.
The renovations to the perfectly located building downtown provided not only a beautiful hotel exterior and lobby, but also GORGEOUS views of downtown Providence. Prices for the stay were very reasonable given the location and views.
My boyfriend drives a manual Saab, and there are different things required to park the car and remove the key. From our room, we could actually see the garage (as well as gorgeous views of downtown), but the valet was obviously having problems. We called down to the front desk, and they passed along instructions to the valet. When we came down to the lobby, the receptionist said there was no problem. But when we stepped outside the valet ran up and said he couldn't figure out the car, which had been left running. So he asked us to park it and bring the key to the front desk. It is unacceptable that the front desk couldn't communicate issues honestly and effectively AND that we were charged the full price for valet. Furthermore, in the attempts to force the car into gear, the valet damaged the stick shift, requiring a trip to the dealership, which was not inexpensive. No one has returned our calls left with customer service. An extremely upsetting event that marred what otherwise would have been a lovely stay at an ideally situated hotel in Providence's historic downtown.
