Standing more than a century in Washington, D.C., this beautiful hotel is just a 7-minute walk from the Dupont Circle Metro Station. An on-site restaurant with Starbucks coffee is available.
Score from 686 reviews Excellent
Very convenient location, great breakfast, tea/coffee always available, welcome cookies in the evening, gym, pool, jacuzzi.
We got a different (worse) room than what we booked. After complaining they first tried to convince that the room we got is actually better, then we we got a reduction.
Having to leave
When we were there, the most thing that we expected for everyday was the breakfirst. You really have many choices there.
Clean, decent sized rooms. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
The wi-fi was inconvenient. We had to re-sign up anew everyday of our stay, which doesn't make much sense since you can easily get free wi-fi at any Starbucks. Also had trouble getting hot water early in the am.
a but noisy outside, windows don't shilter noise much.
ice machine not working
Friendly staff. I stay at the hotel several times over a 6 months period. Got to know the staff. Very friendly - Teo, Sean, John Close to my location at Georgetown University educational center.
Construction of multi-story building across the street was noisy in the mornings (6 AM construction crew started). Hampton staff did what they could to offset by placing me in a room on the inside. Some nights the guests were obnoxiously noisy from mid-night to 3-4 AM sometimes in the hallways, slamming doors, talking, too much alcohol. Tended to be tied to concert events at the Verizon Center. For a business traveler this was a real irritant.
The location is in China town and close to a wide variety of restaurants. The mall is only a 15 minutes walk away.
Our room had no wifi, a view of the service area and the fold out bed could double as a torture device.
Very good location for access to museums which us what we wanted to see.
Valley parking could be made less expensive for guests staying in the hotel. With taxes, it's almost $50 a day.
The proximity to china town and Mall plus metro was brilliant.the hotel was great ,could not fault the staff and the facilities were tops. Even as a family of five we were able to manage ok in the king room with sofa bed.the complimentary breakfast with family of 5 is great for the budget.
The elevator wait times are excessive.
It Is very good located, you can walk to the mall is just 10 min.
The parking is not free and we have to pay $40, for the day, we decided this hotel for the parking but we did not about the cost, maybe we can chose another hotel cheaper or similar but without car.
Over crowded breakfast. Had to eat standing up. Food was average. Picture of building was miss leading. Hotel is on side of building . We're not told of construction across the street. Very load, starting at 7 am.
Very good location for visiting the museums
I wish it had more choices for breakfast

Price, facilities and location
Easy walking distance from The Mall. Nice breakfast every morning--better than most free hotel breakfasts. Hotel was clean. Daytime staff was helpful. If you are checking in early in the day, and don't have to worry about your room being given away, then this hotel is a good option.
We booked a double queen room 4 months in advance, and gave a credit card number to hold our reservation. When we flew into DC, our room was gone. The night clerk put us in a one bedroom suite, with one bed and one pull out couch. Great for the two people in the bed; not so good for the two on the pull out couch. The night clerk did not seem interested in helping us or explaining why our room was gone. In the morning, the daytime staff was very quick to find us a roll in bed (which the night clerk said he could not do), so that at least we didn't have two people sleeping on a pull out couch. We probably could have switched to another room as well, but, at that point, we didn't want to spend our vacation time packing up our things and moving, etc. I have seen other reviewers complain about not having their room if they arrived late at night, so, if you're flying in late, you might want to book a different hotel.
Loved the location.. Within walking distance to everything we wanted to do.
Checked in around 4:30PM, and our room wasn't ready(Check In, I believe is 3:00PM).. Two girls working the front counter.. The girl who checked us in didn't seem like she was happy to be there.. Very rude and short with us.. The other lady seemed very nice, and I was wishing we had waited for her..
everything was great and convenient
Free WIFI, refrigerator, microwave coffee and tee, computers with printers were a pleasant surprise. Worth to mention this at hotel's description.
The staff is courteous, breakfast is good, rooms are small though.
Good general. Near from china town, safeway, WDC attractions, good gym, room has micro, refrig, water heart
Park valet $40, but next open public part $25 all day IN/OUT. Breakfast was limited and simple opts
Everything was clean and the staff were excellent. Breakfast was delicious.
Construction going on at 7am woke us in the morning. The lobby was crowded most of the time.
Location was central for us easy to walk to all attractions or catch a bus.The staff were all friendly and helpfull, nothing a trouble.
Nothing, would stay there again
