Handlery Union Square Hotel    

Older hotel; room was fine. Sheets/towels were clean, water hot--what more do you need. Staff friendly. Convenient Union Square location.

Mattress a bit soft but OK. Noise can be a problem, especially from drummers and other musicians on corner of Geary and Powell. I asked for room on high floor and away from Geary, which helped a lot. Also, fan on AC unit is a bit loud, which actually helped to block out street noise.

The proximity to Union Square. The lemon water in the lobby was refreshing. The friendliness of the staff. The cleanliness of the room and bathroom.

The noise (fan or exhaust noise) in room 720 was loud and constant throughout the day and night.

The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The original room we were given was very small so asked if we could change and that was not a problem.

Not great pillows. Why are all hotel rooms so dark??? (could scarcely see where to put the water in the coffee maker!).

On weekends there was a lot of noise from place across the road into the early hours of the morning. Windows had no double glazing to keep noise out.

Staff don't know what it is a smile ! Price for parking is very too expensive.

The bed matress was very hard and needs to be replaced

Closeness to businesses. Comfort, Bed was great, Lighting was great. Liked the clock radio. Loved the balcony for morning coffee. Quality of Room. The shampoos were great and the scope and toothbrush and paste were a nice touch

Problems with key swipe, I did not like the eggs I had for breakfast at the Daily Grill. The cheese omelet did not have much taste. Tub was especially small. I really did not enjoy the coffee from the coffee maker - it seemed especially weak.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was always cleaned and made up by the time we returned. A large room - two queen beds, balcony, and city view, Close to all city amenities, and transport: whether trams, trolley, bart, or busses - and we used them all.Concierge was always helpful with directions and recommendations.

Location is excellent, staff is helpful especially Anthony at the front desk.

Lay-out of the room with a faucet in the bedroom instead of the bathroom.

The staff from the Valet to the Bellman were so friendly and personable. We received excellent service from Matthew at the front desk who checked us into a lovely room. Your staff provided excellent customer service. We had dinner @ Kuletos and had poor service from our waiter. It was nice to get back to the hotel where we were treated like special guests. Will definitely stay again and recommend this hotel to friends and family. Thank you

Nice hotel in a great location, literally right next to Union Square. The rooms are nice, well equipped and decorated.

Service in the in-house restaurant was poor at breakfast on several occasions. I stayed in the historic section, and noise from outside was a bit bothering given the windows didn't close very well, but didn't stop me sleeping.

The location was perfect, close to Union shopping and cable cars for sight seeing.

The room was very dark and dingy. It didn't look at all like the bright modern room on the website. I don't know any hotels that have double bed instead of queen beds. You should up-grade.

Staff were friendly and efficient, especially cleaning staff. Rooms spacious, comfortable and quiet.No sense of being crowded or hustled/hassled.

Having to wait and queue at breakfast on first day ( overcome though by booking thereafter).

I totally loved the hotel. We enjoyed the experience very very much. I plan to stay again when in SF, and I've go twice a year. I've never stayed at same hotel. But I will book to stay here again. Staff, Location, Reasonable Price, Clean, Pool, balcony was above everything I expected from a hotel in San Francisco.

The facilities were ok, nice shower and great location.

The staff at the reception was not so kind nor willing to assist the guests. The breakfast was not included and expensive. If that is the hotel strategy, the staff should be willing to suggest other places serving good breakfast in town.

Location is everything. Right in front Union Square and famous cable cars on the street. Surrounded by all famous stores making shopping so easy. Just perfect if you are interested in having a city experience.

The rooms always were clean. Very good service and the staff offers a nice experience. Highly recommended.

The TV channels are some limited, lacks of a nice movie channel.
