Centrally located to shopping, night clubs, pubs and a trolley ride to the piers. Very friendly staff, clean property and recently updated rooms and decor.
The room next to the elevator
The staff were excellent.
The interior is a little dated.
Great room for the price
No hot water the day I left
Location was great, right by Union Square.
Check-in was really slow, the staff was new and wasn't familiar with his job. But the others there were good.
The hotel are a perfect localisation, and everything is clean.
The hotel are a little noisy.
The location was good.
When I booked my reservation over two months prior to traveling to your hotel, I was under the assuption that I would be afforded the Hawaii rate. I learned from the front desk that I did not receive the discount.I spoke to a lady manager on the 2/22/15. she stated being that I did not call by phone I will not receive he Hawaii rate.I was not aware that I needed to call by phone. I could not find the call requirement any where. It is reasonable to conclude that the phone call requirement, should be in plane view and clear understandable note. The manager did provde a token of understanding with a refreshment.I would want to convey my appreciation, for her efforts. We enjoyed staying at the Handerly hotel. sincerely, Richard G.Gonsales. arrived 2/18 ,departed 2/23/15.
Location, large room with balcony, convenient and pleasant restaurant.
No direct access elevators from main lobby to premier building rooms.
Great location, great staff and having a pool was key! Concierge could not have been more helpful!
No hotel bar...would have been great to relax at the pool w A glass of wine.
Great location, next to Union Square, 5 mins walk to Powell Station which has a direct BART train to the airport that takes 30 mins, many restaurants and shopping malls around, nearby bus stops for buses to fisherman's wharf, golden gate park etc
Can hear noises in the corridor clearly-one night woken up by people talking in the corridor at 4am. One day we were out in the morning and came back around 4-5pm and our room was not cleaned despite that we put the make up room sign on the door.
Location and value for money - excellent. A family-run hotel with the owner, Jon H. on the spot, not managed by a chain.
Access to some rooms difficult. Long walk, up stairs, long walk past outdoor pool, to elevator. If this is an issue request a room in the other wing, with elevators from the lobby.
Location, location, location... Great... Customer concern... Not so much... But nice overall, with exception of no usable refrigerator... Will give them another chance, however...
Staff was aloof, chilly... We could not use the refrigerator, it was overheating, called the desk, said they would send engineering... That was around 5 pm, when we checked out at around noon the next day, refrigerator was still ready to burst into flames... sure the next guests couldn't use it either... really poor customer-centric service and care...
Location and room near pool Quiet
Layout from front desk to room location
Extremely small room-the beds were old and no movie channels-like other hotels
friendly staff. Clean comfortable room. Good location.
Extremely noisy. Could hear traffic outside throughout the night.
I liked the location. It was very convenient.
I didn't like the room size due to the fact the room was advertised as a double occupancy room. I also did not appreciate that the parking was not free for guest of the hotel.
Liked the historic aspect of the hotel and its central location. The staff are friendly and efficient and the tariff is great value for money. Very comfy bed and well appointed room.
Getting to the newer part of the hotel is a little bit of an odyssey.
I enjoyed everything.
Bathroom a little too small.
Location Price Big rooms
Poor service Expensive parking Noisy rooms.
Pre-ordered room service the night before for a 7am breakfast. It arrived at 7:45am with missing food items. Paid cash for the breakfast and had to call room service to bring back the change after previously tipped at the door. Food was cold. I expected more from an upscale hotel.
Needs refurbish. Tired Movement from old section to new is a pain
Position. Good price
The structure and the look are quite old fashioned and heavy to look at. The inner aisle is a nightmare like in a Escher's paint.
* the location near Union Square is excellent
* my windows were frosted because the view was a wall just a few feet away * the coffee maker didn't work * the staff seemed indifferent - not unfriendly, just not interested * I've definitely received better value for the money in SF - I won't be returning to this hotel
Location Friendly staff
Loud street noise Small room Expensive
One of the few hotels that has rooms with 2 queen beds; spacious room. Close to Union Square.
It sounded like there was a washing machine running all night, kind of noisy.
