A terrible experience. The worst $160 per nite place I've ever stayed in and I've stayed in a thousand motels.
sleep was fine
noisy upstairs guest
Staff, check-in option
Wi-Fi Signal is too bad,not able to check the emails,Heat is not enough
Attractive furnishings, lovely throw pillows on bed did not give the impression of a commercial venue. Spacious room. Nice little balcony.
Difficult to understand the TV menu.
Reasonable...good as just there for sleeping. Didn't spend much time there.
Close to Ludlow, where our antiques show was. beautiful foliage in the autumn, and reasonable prices.
We had a small family of elephants above us, stomping around, taking showers. The construction is so cheap that every footstep above sounds like an elephant, of course, we never saw them; maybe they were!
wonderful location with small deck facing mountains and moonlight. a very clean, spacious room, comfortable room with small fridge
bed was not bad but not the best
This hotel was easily accessed from the main road, and was within a short drive to downtown restaurants, etc. The room was cleaned daily, and there was plenty of space in the room with a balcony. Free wifi, a few cable channels, fridge and coffee maker. We did not pay very much per night, so it was a good value.
We we worried about the musty smell heading into the room, but once we turned the fan on and aired out the room, the air quality improved. Carpet and flooring is older, but for us this was not an issue.
Room was clean. Bed was comfortable.
Quite outdated. It really needs a face-lift. While the room was fine, the halls were musty.
Small view of mountain.
Bed was terrible. Not clean.Camp like setting.
wish room had a micro-wave oven
This motel needs a lot of TLC. It is very run down. Stained carpet, not sure if it was mold or paint. The ceiling tiles in the bathroom were all stained. The floor molding in the bathroom was all decayed.
The bathroom was horrible.Trim was rotted. Rug into bathroom had a large stain. Ceiling had water stains Screen door fell off whe opening. No heat or hot water.
old run down in need of lots of up dating
near Okemo, reasonable price, hottub
Dirty ....in disrepair...disgusting...I had booked 2 non refundable nights but ended up staying at another hotel for the 2nd night because the blankets were filthy.
Close to Okemo Mountain.
I would not recommend the Happy Trails Motel to anyone. First off, our booking.com confirmation stated that "This room features a balcony with mountain views" and we certainly did not receive this. Our room was located in the back of the building, with NO balcony or view, unless you count looking out our dirty windows (which had no window screens, btw) at the humongous puddle in the parking lot and broken down/snow covered car and motorcycles with CT license plates a view. Looking out at those abandoned vehicles was eerie - like a horror movie. Were they guests that checked in & never checked out?! Were we going to suffer the same fate? The hallways were dingy and dirty. The carpets were in dire need of a vacuuming and the walls need to be washed. The room itself was OK as far as cleanliness - but definitely had "dated" decor. The dodo bird painting over the bed was ugly enough to haunt my dreams forever. The bathroom consisted of a toilet crammed up next to a shower. It was so small that the sink and mirror weren't even IN the bathroom, but rather just outside of it (which makes no sense what-so-ever). The bed. Oh God, the bed. First off, the pillows (if you can call them that) were HORRENDOUS. They were so frumpy, like a loose bag of stuffing. The bed was by far the WORST bed we have ever slept on in our lives. If we weren't concerned about the cleanliness of the floor, we would have slept there instead. It was so hard & so uncomfortable. We couldn't sleep and were in so much pain after lying down. The heat was oppressive. We turned it down, but it kept turning on & making all these awful noises like an out-of-tune marching band. It was over 80 degrees and if I wasn't in my 30's, I'd think for certain I was going thru "the change" and experiencing hot flashes. We were forced to open the windows in the dead of winter to seek relief.
Very close to Okemo
Rooms were large but low quality amenities and furnishings.
Nothing but the location
The linens were dirty and the room smelled bad. Not sanitary....quite disgusting!
The heat was good.
Was pretty clean and nice.
Was cold. 52F on check in time later worm up to normal temperature.70F.
Great thst it is only 3 minutes from Okemo.
Walls are paper thin so it's very loud if there are people next door. Very expensive for what it is. Spend the extra and go elsewhere.
The lady that runs the motel is very friendly. The motel is clean and basic. I like that there is a refrigerator there. It is close to the mountain for skiing. It is near many places to eat.
The musky smell in the hallway which I am sure is due to wet shoes coming in all the time. Maybe time to rip the rugs up?
I voiced concerns regarding a loud neighbor upstairs. The guess was stomping and banging on something something from 11 to 2 am. I called the front desk and they did nothing. Needless to say, I was extremely tired the next day. I was up early for skiing. I wish they had a little more control over their property. Probably won't stay there again.
