Salmon was excellent- location was perfect, Photography is my passion so I chose the Vineyard and it was my Birthday -
The wind chill made it feel like it was 20 below zero....need to go south next year lol
Location opposite the light house provides very interesting history of the region Architecture of the property very interesting Cleanliness of rooms and all facilities was exemplary
Couldn't quite work out why the evening dining room was tucked away at the end of the bar area and not in main area with outlook over the bay?
view food staff room
price was a little high but needed to stay where family was
All the views were amazing
Room facing the back, I guess we had to pay more to face the pool or the ocean, but the walls were so thin, we could hear the entirety of the 2hr phone conversation the jerk next door had with his wife. Perhaps the quality of the rooms facing the front are better? This place is clearly capitalising on the excellent location but definitely an average experience once you leave the veranda with the view. We went off season on purpose so that it wiuld not be too crowded, but the staff definitely had an attitude I cant imagine how they are like when it is really buisy.
The king size mattress was too soft and outdated. Food choices were very limited and they could not accommodate a food allergy, very frustrating and against the law.
View - Location
We were stuck on 4th floor garret without air conditioning, not the view we were led to expect. Elevator only went to third floor. Window screens in tatters. Filthy hall carpets. Vacuum cleaner and dirty glasses left in hallway for days. Discovered upon arrival that main dining room would NOT be open for dinner. Concluded that the place is a fire trap.
Discrete caring hospitable staff great integrity
Lovely location - very helpful concierge - beautiful public areas & swimming pool - excellent food, Loved the cottages - essential to book one of these.
Rejected a room in main building as corridors are worn & many rooms have poor view..
Location, food, quiet.
we are in our eighties; they put us on the 3rd floor; there is no elevator. there was no heat and weather was cool.
The room was clean and comfortable.
The price was outrageous considering there was no hot tub or even so much as a continental breakfast....I was horrified to hear that smoking wasn't allowed anywhere outside (couldn't enjoy the pool) I was also told that it wasn't "pet friendly" yet I saw many with small dogs. The restaurant was over priced, and the food was awful...(we had breakfast only) Most of the staff could barely speak English & it was hard to communicate....would be nice to see AMERICAN worker's (full-time year round worker's)
Great location and even better view
Rooms very average and below what would be expected for the rate charged
Best view & location in Edgartown.
My first shower was barely lukewarm. Bathroom was tiny & worn.
The location, the light, the views. The wrap-around porch, generously furnished with rocking chairs.
Rooms not serviced until late afternoon. Most staff, though friendly and helpful, were seasonal international workers--detracting from the image of a traditional New England seaside hotel. No sense of a benign and welcoming managerial guiding hand.
Jill in Concierge services was extremely helpful and friendly.
We found the hours of Water St. restaurant unusually limited during peak summer activity. Also, the early morning emptying of the dumpster right outside our room was very disruptive to sleep.
This was a treat for us to stay of Martha's Vineyard for our 10 year anniversary. The location is excellent with no buildings blocking view, very quiet, room balcony had nice view of pool / game area, large porch on front of the hotel with a view of the bay. We enjoyed a bottle of wine on the porch with a mega yacht illuminating the water.
The concereiges Jill and Darlene were amazing. They made our trip!
Maid service was terrible.
The staff was eager to help at all times. There were outdoor games set up, which we enjoyed. We enjoyed being right by the scenic lighthouse and shore.
Good hotel overlooking the harbor
We had a room where the air con broke down, and were offered two complimentary drinks in the bar. At check out the drinks were on the account and we asked for the credit. The hotel then charged the drinks in a separate debit to our MasterCard. Very disappointing.
My stay here was better than I could have imagined. The staff was so very warm and friendly, the location the very best and my room was lovely. I very much look forward to my next visit.
View from verandah sitting on rocking chair, watching the world go by.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Darlene in concierge was amazing! She handled whatever issues we had and solved them. Her suggestions and itinerary definitely enhanced out stay.
My daughter left her purse on the ferry and the concierge (Darlene) was able to find the purse almost immediately. That was such a relief! Darlene also gave us wonderful suggestions for things to do while staying there. The property is gorgeous and just what we were looking for in a family vacation. We are from Georgia and plan to come again!
