Built in 1783, this boutique Charleston inn is in the heart of the center of Charleston. Features include coffee and tea served each morning and an afternoon reception.
Score from 198 reviews Excellent
The hotel sent a car to pick us up. The Ross Transportation lady was terrific. She waited with us for the tow truck to get there before driving us to the hotel. The hotel felt so bad for our misfortune they upgraded our room to a newly renovated room with a fireplace and private balcony.
My truck broke down on I-26 in Charleston on the way to the hotel.
Location very convenient to all the sights and downtown
We loved everything about the Harbourview. location perfect - walking distance to restaurants, market, and shops.
somewhat pricey but worth it.
It was close to the Harbor yet quite and comfortable and had on site parking. It was also close to many excellent restaurants and bars. We will be back when the weather is warmer and we can enjoy the roof top area.
Sorry I can't think of anything
The staff was great and very helpful. Loved the cheese and wine afternoon snack.
Lack of a restaurant hard for older people who have trouble walking. No acknowledgememt of our 50 th anniversary.
Our stay at the HarbourView was certainly made memorable by the courtesy and friendliness of the staff: Marcus at the front desk offered invaluable help during our stay. The small meals interspersed throughout the day made us feel at home and the opportunity to have breakfast on the rooftop terrace enhanced our experience of Charleston. We stayed in a Traditional Room, but will most likely try one of the Historical ones on our next trip; mainly because of the historical value, as the room itself was a pleasure to be in. Spacious, with ample room to move and sleep for all four of us. We had not planned to enjoy our stay as much as we did, but now we can't wait to go back!
Very much enjoyed the breakfast choices and various locations in which to eat. Staff was very helpful in arranging transportation around the city as well as retrieving two umbrellas from our car one morning. Saved me the trip to do so.
Everything was wonderful. The rooms were very nice. The location was great.
The rooms had no fans. A little air movement would have been great.
Breakfast outside on roof, location, staff
Room and hotel in general very tired and run down. Could use updating, new furniture and carpeting, etc.
We really like the cheese and wine hour and the cookies and mik. Some of th staff like Drew and Jessica were great!
Some of the staff was no helpful, we requested a higher level room and were on the first floor closest to the desk and it was our honeymoon!!! Lisa was totally unhelpful and dismissive, however Drew fhe AGM personally reached out to us to ensure our satisfaction
the staff is excellent
most of the rooms do not have views so there is not much value being on the harbor
The location is on the waterfront and within walking distance to many great eateries & attractions. There is also a free shuttle bus stop directly across the street from the hotel. Great harbor views from rooftop terrace.Very nice wine & cheese happy hour each evening & pretty good continental breakfast. The entire staff of the hotel are friendly & competent, but Marcus, the night manager is a superstar!
Regret we only had 3 days in Charleston & 2 nights at Harbourview Inn.
We checked in late & our room was noisy. Otherwise would have scored excellent all round. Hotel was full that night so couldn't move us. But they moved us to a super room the next day, gave us a bottle of champagne and reduced price for whole 3 night stay. Staff excellent - couldn't do enough. Will definitely be back to visit Charleston as there's so much to see & will definitely stay at this Hotel.
The small quaint atmopshere....the milk and cookies at night in the Lobby
Took too long to come clean our room. We came back late in the afternoon and they had not cleaned our room yet!
The staff was friendly helpful lots of smiles. Turned down beds and robes at night. Wake up call for breakfast Location Ambiance
Location, beautiful hotel, great staff
Wonderful staff and great location!
The service was exceptional.
central location atmosphere of the hotel was great incredible friendly and helpful staff at all levels the morning included breakfast delivered to my room generous room dimensions cookies and milk a nice touch turn down service
$20 added cost for parking vehicle per day
The room was nice. The staff was very professional and friendly. The cookies and milk at night is a cute idea and the cookies were very good.
We had a terrible view out of our window.
We loved the location, the staff is very friendly and helpfull. We had a spacious room with view on the harbour
There is NO substitute for Splenda. I do not know what mystery stuff you have purchased in the yellow packets, but it ruins the coffee!
The breakfast delivered to the room, the wine and cheese in the afternoon and the cookies and milk at night. The mattress was really comfortable too! The shower was nice and big and very clean.
There was no pool at the hotel. A restaurant/bar would have been nice too. The cleaning staff didn't come until too late and we were already back in the room. By the end of our week stay they didn't bother to clean the room at all . We had to ask and go to the front desk for toilet paper numerous times since they didn't leave any in the room. We really could not see the harbor from our harbor view room. No screen was in the door that opened to the little balcony so it could not be opened. No movie rental for TV.
Excellent bathroom, very good bed, good location...nice freebies...
Inconvenient parking situation, no room service outside of breakfast... room was a bit small.
