Location was perfect! Could walk everywhere easily. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is close by and reasonably priced.
Hotel is in need of restoration. Could use a good cleaning and needs the interior painted.
We ate dinner each night at Harry's--usually ordering from the kids' menu to save money. And I must say, we ALWAYS had left-overs to take back to the room. The food was good and the pricing was fantastic. Orlando was a great server as was Eric in the mornings at the family restaurant across the lobby. This was a very budget-friendly hotel/location. And if the room is too warm for your tastes, just open the windows!
My only complaint, I guess, really, would be that my bed was not too comfortable. However, after the first night, I didn't particularly notice it.
Central location. Easy to book online find and easy to find after a hard day. Would recommend it to friends.
Very poor breakfast facility. Overlooked and overpriced. For tourists a breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Recepcionist is bad, the cleaning is bad, WiFi horrible bad ever.
The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly and very helpful. It is very close to the subway, trolley, and bus stops. The beds were comfortable.
I was disappointed in restaurants attached to hotel.. Don't eat there! Food is not good!!
Within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions. Extremely helpful and competent staff.
Wifi was interminably slow.
outdated, bathroom not 100% clean, tiny room
Great location. Easy walking distance to all the good stuff. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved the history line on the wall and the history about the hotel. Very fun.
Bathroom could have been a little cleaner but I managed.
Thick dust on the bathroom light fixtures, tile peeling off the bathroom floor, had to have maintenance unlock the door to the room because the pass key did not work, have pictures of lots of dirt on the carpets - chunks & debris.
The location was central to everything. We would stay again. Don't be fooled by the age, no it is not a 5 star hotel but it was clean and comfortable.
The location was close to major museums and attractions
Hotel was old and completely out dated
The best feature about this hotel is its location. Short walk to all the main sites.
Bathroom not overally clean. No hair dryer in room which is specified online. Wifi comes and goes.
LOCATION! We went to DC to explore, our hotel room was to sleep. The staff was friendly and accomodating. We were on the 10th floor. The price for the location for a family of 4, on a budget, was outstanding!
It was poorly maintained, shabby in every way possible with old dirty carpeting that needed to be shampooed or replaced years ago.
Nothing at all, except the night receptionist who was really friendly.
Everything. Cant believe that I paid this amount of money, $160+ would not even spend $10. How can this hotel get such a rating on the internet?!!!!!
The hotel is old and a bit worn, but its rich history is on view. Room was large, comfortable, and quiet. Service was good and there are lots of eating options all around the hotel.
Staff was very helpful and was able to answer all of my questions.
No HVAC control -room like sauna; Electric outlets worn out, Charger plug would not stay in outlet . No help at desk.
Great location. Walking distance to almost everything DC has to offer.
Wonderful, convenient location. Great historic building.
The location was wonderful. Walking distance to the museums and the subway station.
Rooms were very old and run down.
The location is the only good thing.
Possibly the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Old, dirty, grubby, and we were given a tiny room with paper peeling off walls, and that was freezing cold, even though it was situated next to the heating system so there was constant loud noise all night. We checked out after only 1 night of our stay and found alternative accommodation. Terrible.
Substandard wiring, old outlets too narrow for the prongs of chargers to stick in same for the TV plug which kept slipping out of the outlet,no electrical outlet in bathroom for razor, exceedingly difficult control of the hot/ cold water mixing for shower
WiFi was weak & inconsistent. I needed to charge my phone, but had to choose unplugging a lamp, the clock, or the TV to do so. Turns out "TV" is the correct answer because the cable TV didn't work anyways. Maybe due to the cable splitter attached to the cable running through a hole in the wall and then running across the floor, out through another hole, to supply cable to the room next door.
