Reasonably priced for dc. Close to all mall and most dc events within walking distance. Old fashioned but not without charm. We enjoyed our stay and would return.
It was walking distance to the mall and to the metro, saving the cost of cab-hopping. The beds were very comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was fine. In general, the staff was friendly and accommodating.
Although the hotel was historic, it needed a general overhaul (perhaps restore it to its original turn of the century beauty??) and there was a very strong greasy odor near the elevators and an interesting mustiness in the lobby. Also, Harriet's Cafe was disappointing. Although the breakfast tasted good, the appearance was a turnoff and we tried other places for the rest of the stay.
The rooms were quiet and clean.
Mattress was old and saggy. The Carpet and wall paper need updating. The place with a little bit more care could be a gem in the city. No attention to details like the elevator numbers. Not the freindliest staff.
I like the location close to white house and other historical places!
Considering hotel is so old it was a great stay. Everything was nearby.
Thanks to Gail (Gayle?) for treating us like human beings & made a bad situation comfortable.
Wi-Fi in the evenings very poor.
Friendly staff, good price, excellent location, clean room, comfortable beds
The AC temperature could not be influenced, there was only a mechanical valve to shut off the airflow.
Fantastic location Excellent staff
No shower gel/shampoo in room
Location is good
Wifi was not good
Got a triple room for a low cost (actually had 4 beds which was a plus in case of an extra guest) plus really close to everything
Slow wifi barely enough to web browse nevermind stream video (the Ping was at some points 500 and a good or at least average pong would be around 1-30)
This hotel was located in the most perfect spot in the city. I was so happy with my choice of hotel. I was there for a week and I wakes everywhere. The hotel was clean, the room was made each day and re Resturant down stairs was well priced and the food and portion sizes was definitely value for money. I will recommend this hotel to everyone and is definitely return.
location, food, clean
old, needs new carpet etc., price
Multiple beds in one room was helpful for our family. Checking in & out was quick & easy. Great location.
Old bedspreads/small bathroom
Friendly Helpful Staff.
PMI parking garage attendants were unaccommodating.
VERY DISAPPOINTED! Did not even stay!
Very dingy, bathroom was dirty, latch on bathroom door was broke. Light bulbs out, I could go on for hours!
Established hotel part of the history of the city it is right at the heart of.
Parking garage was not helpful when we had a problem.
Location was excellent
Bathroom didn't have a vent to remove moisture from the shower
Old and dated. Room and bathroom small.
The hotel looks old and very shabby.
The staff was fairly nice and friendly. The location was excellent close to every place we wanted to go. For a hotel 100 years old it was in very good condition and comfortable. Will stay again if and when we return to DC
At times it was difficult to get in touch with our maid and we had to tell the desk 3 times that we needed our room clean. They finally accommodated our needs late in the afternoon. Other than that the stay was pretty good
Great location, free wifi in room, and the hotel restaraunts are as good, if not better, than anything else you'd find in the city. All the major landmarks are within walking distance. This was our second visit, and I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in DC.
Perfect location, Experienced and nice staff, Clean rooms. Also, I advise you to read Washington Post's article on Hotel Harrington, this is the first hotel in Washington, so lots of history.
You can't adjust the air-conditioning, The bathrooms are a bit small.
