Score from 1020 reviews Very good
Too many students making noise. Noise period! Cramped, no heat control, no shampoo. etc. etc. Over a hundred years old and feels like it! Update needed!
Location is the only thing this place has going for it. Maybe, that there wasn't any pests.
Shower had limitations.
Friendly and helpful staff.
No amenities at all! Poor wi fi. Small bathroom, without even a hairdryer. Everything too old. Friendly staff.
wish breakfast was included in rate
loved the location and ease of storing bikes. rooms simple but clean. quiet hotel
It is not worth the 170.00$ paid, it is very old, not well maintained, the lights made funny sound, sockets worked very funny, our window location (when we came in the curtains were closed & for a reason). would not stay again, pay little more and stay somewhere else
Location is the only good part
Seeing the sites
Its pretty old, we ask for room service once from the restaurant of the hotel and they said they dont do that any more, we couln't conect to wifi except in the bath room
Its close to some museums really you can just walk to everything
we had to wait until 4 p.m. for our room to be ready
location, value for money
One night there was very loud music coming from down the street but it ended by 12:00AM but that is just the big city.
The best thing about the hotel is the location! It was definitely not a fancy hotel. It was a typical older hotel. The bed was fine, the bathroom sufficient, the room was small. If you are planning on lounging in the room for long periods of time it is not for you, but if you plan to be out and about it is great. The staff was very accomodating in storing our bags for us before check in and after check out because our flights were not at the right times and we wanted to do some sightseeing without lugging around our bags.
Not enough time there.
Fantastic Location ! Walking distance to everything! Front Desk Staff was awesome! Fabulous Valet Parking! Food at the hotel was excellent; Best Lobster Roll Ever! Will be back. Hopefully for a longer stay.
No in room coffee pot.
Location - one block from Ford's Theatre. Easy walk to Spy Museum, Chinatown, National Portrait Gallery and other sites. Iron and hair dryer provided. The bed linen and bathroom were clean. The drapes do need to be cleaned as the dust was visible. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Early check-in allowed if room is ready.
The man on the desk. Cleanliness of room
One remote for TV did not work
Was able to walk to most of the things I wanted to see
Our room looked out onto a brick wall, the lighting was dingy and outside and just below our room were some very noisy air conditioning units. We had to buy ear plugs!
The hotel is perfectly located for walking to all the major sites of Washington DC. The on site restaurants of Harriet's (for breakfast) and Harry's (for dinner) were great.
The room was very small, was difficult to fit two suitcases in the room and have room to walk in it, wifi was terrible - could only connect late at night
Best thing about this hotel was it's location
While old, the hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. The rooms are sparse and small but clean and being a few blocks from the White House, you cannot beat the price. The a/c is incredibly weak so I would think twice before staying during the summer, but that is the only complaint I can make. We had a delightful stay and were within easy walking distance from all the major sights.
Location location location
, Place was ok
The Wi Fi isn't to use, very, very, very slow.
Very central location in front of Pen station.
Hotel is old and not maintained well. We found socks belonging to previous guests on the floor.
Location. Tea facilities in room.
Lovely spacious rooms
The interior is like 100 years old. It adds it charm, but I wouldn't be staying more than 1 night.
Most of all we liked the location and nice ladies at the reception. They were really good.
Hotel was a little sparse with coffee and toileteries
All that Washington offered ant hotel was ideally situated for getting around
