The location is the best!
The bed was too soft.
Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location. Good price for DC.
Needs easier access to computer.
Ideal place to stay while in DC
Brilliantly placed for tourists and a lovely atmosphere
Packed with a ton of other people!! Lots of youngsters it seemed - group packages?!
The location is superb and close to all major monuments.
The age and some worn out facilities.
Location is amazing.....staff was very courteous and rooms were basic but clean....even had a fridge
Convienent to transportation
It was tiny
The bar downstairs was great, good food and ice cold beer.
The hotel was very old and tired. If you are only in Washington for one night, then it is ok, but any longer, I would go somewhere else.
The location is great
It is overpriced, old, noisy, smelly...
I LOVED that we were less than a 10 minute walk from all the major museums, buildings, landmarks, etc. We paid less for 2 nights stay than a 1 night stay would cost anywhere else in the area!
The hotel is older and the AC we had no control over, but if your in DC you shouldn't be staying in a hotel all day, it was meant to put a roof over our head in a safe area, and thats exactly what we got.
great location, walking distance to everything. Compared to the other 2 hotels we stayed in on our USA tour (similar priced) this was the best. Great having 2 beds, and a nice big room. Tea and coffee filled up and plenty of each. Interesting downstairs hallway with USA timeline.
Room could have done with a lick of paint, scuffed wallpaper and skirting boards. Otherwise couldn't really expect more for the price in a city.
Location - within walking distance to all the museums and tourist spots
Facilities - no heater. Hotel staff turned it on only one night after I requested for it. It's centralized heating
Staff were helpful and friendly. Harry's had great food. Yes it is an old hotel but it was clean and comfortable. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The night tour they suggested was great!
Breakfast wasn't great
Liked the location and the staff were helpful
Only two nights there so not much to dislike
The Location was Perfect.
I understand it is an Old Hotel. The toilet seat was so close to the door.
The people who work there were very helpful and friendly. Any concerns we had were met readily if possible. The location was excellent. Though small, the room was just fine, it fit our needs.
The mold in the bathroom.
The food from the hotel restaurants was excellent. Try the chicken Caesar salad and the NY strip steak. Both are great.
The location is great and allows walking to nearby sites of interest. Parking is reasonable and just around the corner. The staff is so-so but not a problem.
Our room was small and out of date, which was expected given that the hotel is 100 years old. Ad says "updated" but it was not current. The bed was clean but the carpet needed a good cleaning and the rest of the room a dusting. There was dust build-up on the floor molding, for example. There were plenty of towels and the bathroom was clean. We will not stay there again. The two restaurants were under par. We had breakfast in the main, and it was pretty awful, and the breakfast was not included in the price or anything. It was just poor quality food. We had burgers in the bar and they were good.I would say the management of this hotel is not good.
The property is in dire need of refreshing.
great location but the hotel needs some repairs because it is old
It's close to the Mall so ideal for sightseeing. It's an old hotel so we did not expect much. As we travelled out of the season, the hotel staff even upgraded our room for free, that was nice.
The disadvantage of staying close to the Mall is lack of normal shops around... The breakfast is nothing special, must be paid separately. Room was a bit cold, however the staff tried to fix that problem.
Reception staff. comfortable bed. quiet hotel for size. location
very poor wi fi. computer facilities useless. attached family restaurant very poor quality. had to ask for coffee making facilities ( but not included in offer, anyway)
Rooms to the backside of the building very loud. We couldn't sleep at all! Old buildings like this need to be maintained much better! The window didn't close tightly. Would not book it again!
In general, the hotel is in need of big maintenance - need to replace carpets, clean the floors
poor wifi, old hotel
