I was only expecting a one bedroom/bathroom suite, but I was surprised with a two bedroom and two bathroom. For the money we paid for us and three children you couldn't find a better deal.
Bed wasn't very comfortable but I may just be picky. But it didn't impact my stay at all, loved the place.
When we first arrived i really liked it.staff was nice the room was nice you could smell the cleanliness and everything was great. Bed is comfy i thought it was great. Till i saw the huge dead roach under the sink. I just couldn't relax anymore. I had my six month old and i just kept thinking what if they get on her bottles, nipples or baby food or worse what if one crawls on her during the night. We slept with the lights on. Which means we didnt sleep well. Just ruined our trip. Too bad becuase at first i really liked it.
The small shower. . The bed moved every time you sat on it. Took mataince 4 hours to come after I called twice about the toilet over flowing. The rude operator at the front desk. She never told mataince ab the toilet till 4hours later. I booked hotel online and it said np deposit when I got there there was a deposit. A mess!
I have stayed at this facility every month for a week for several months...always acceptable. This time there was no housekeeping for the entire visit...constantly running out of toilet paper etc and having to go get our own at the desk...then they changed my rate mid stay and charged me an exhorbitant amount for a basically average acceptable property.
Good value for rate paid in San Antonio. Lots of space. Reasonably functional kitchen area.
This is a renovated apartment complex. Some of the fixtures in the bathroom are old and need to be upgraded. If staying on the ground floor, you hear every footstep taken by the people above you on the second floor. There were no disposable cups, so for a glass of water, you had to hope the glassware was clean.
Good spacious room for your buck
The staff was very unhelpful and rude. I forgot a valuable in the hotel and it took them about 48 hours to confirm what I called about my missing item. I asked why house keeping had not notified them of their findings and they stated because it was not their protocol. So no one knows what house keeping finds unless the owner calls claiming to have left something. They refused to mail me my item and I had to travel back to the hotel to get it.
The location I liked
The facility is in bad need of renovation. The bathroom was gross. I have stayed at motels that had better comfort. The inside of the room like an appartment you wood see in the hood. Basically it was not worth the $137.00 I paid for the night.
The bedroom is separated from living room. Living room comes with sofa bed. Bedroom has walkin closet.
Restroom needs to be remodeled. Its a bit old.
It was quite, clean, very comfortable. Lobby felt comfortable to hang out in. I like that they were once apartments. I would recommend this place to friend n family.
Couldn't get into room first try. Checked out 6am clerk not very friendly, but it WAS 6am.
Price an comfort was fair.
Staff was poor, did not clean our room an refused service multiple times even to get extra towels for my wife. Very disappointed, would not recommended.
We enjoyed our stay. Yes this place is not new construction, and it is not perfect, but for the price we were very comfortable and had plenty of space. We used both bedrooms and the sofa bed. We even borrowed a pack n play for my 1yr old. We appreciated both bathrooms and the kitchen space. It was clean and the staff was very friendly. For the price you can't beat it.
Give thanks to the stove/oven. I was able to prepare green bean casserole for a Thanksgiving Luncheon.
Dirty carpet and floors
Everything was clean. The breakfast was the best ever seen. It was a great value for money. Try it.
rooms spacious comfortable. great price.
could be cleaner.
Everything was very nice
Not enough pans to actually cook anything.
Love the quietness and that it was easy to get around for someone that was handicapped (did not request that type of room). Over all I would love to come back and stay longer.
Just needed more cooking items (that were stated above). Also needed and requested ( upon reserving room)more towels but did not get them.
was a great value for our trip. there was 3 ladies and having a place for each of us to have privacy was wonderful.
no much if anything. we were thrilled.
I liked the room. The room was honestly one of the best I've seen for the cost. I was blown away and couldn't get over how amazing the room was. But I would much rather stay somewhere with a friendly staff and a lower quality of room than what I went through. Will explain in what I didn't like.
I get there around 11:00 at night, after reserving the room online using booking.com . My girlfriend and I had spent the entire day taking care of logistics regarding moving into our new place but it wasn't ready until the following Monday, so we decided to come here. So I show up and the card I reserved the room on booking.com is being "refused" by the clerk at the desk, which was frustrating but I'm sure the front desk attendant(Elizabeth) was just doing her job. So I go to Walgreens and put cash onto a prepaid debit card totalling in $500(just in case a deposit may have been required) The room was 95$ or so for the night. So I brought the debit card back and it was as well not allowing me to book the room with it. I didn't understand why and I asked Elizabeth if I paid a deposit cash(I had more than enough to pay for an entire week stay of the room in cash, and it was already late and I was set on staying at your hotel. After explaining the situation she took $100 cash from me and allowed me to stay the night. In the morning I found out that my apartment would not be ready for moving in that day due to an issue and I really did not want to go running around to another hotel, so I asked if I could pay cash for ANOTHER night, and she refused. I asked to speak to a manager to try and see why it was not okay and she immediately treated me as if I was trying to pull some sort of scam. Once again, I had MORE than enough cash in my pocket and a card loaded with $120, and I'm being treated as if I'm trying to scam your hotel by asking to stay another night, paying full price for the room, and checking out in the morning. Both Elizabeth and the Assistant Manager treated me like I was scum and refused to allow me to stay another night and ordered me to leave. They said the check out time was 11:00 am(the check out time was noon and was on all of the documentation) to force me out of the room.
Size of room
The breakfast is really good and the staff friendly. The rooms are basically small apartments which is nice for a longer stay. Quick access to various parts of northern San Antonio and downtown. Price was awesome which has brought me back for multiple visits for my one night business trips.
Facility has been updated but still shows its age. This area of San Antonio is questionable.
I liked the spaciousness
I did not like being able to hear the road noise from the freeway. I also saw a cockroach in the kitchen.
the price, breakfast, and location.
I had a upstairs unit with 3 young kids.
We like the cleanliness, the size of the place and the overall experience of Hawthorn Suites. It was enjoyed by both of us.
breakfast ends too early.
Roomy Full size fridge Comfortable bed Quiet Nice staff Older property but it's worth the price with the roominess & easy access to freeway. Definitely stay again
Uncomfortable sofa bed Hard to get to - intersection/exit difficult Cooking pans old
