Hotel is centrally located in the center of the city. The staff is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is nice. The shared bathroom and toilets are also clean and good.
Little bit more noise come from the street, but it doesn't affect so much sleep
Staff is very personable snd helpful. Always clean, relaxing and homey. Walking distance to multiple types of restaurants.
Double rooms are best for one person.
A lovely place to stay i SF! We got all the help we needed and more :-) The kitchen were they served breakfast was recently renovated and sooo nice. I loved the rooms and the comfortable beds. We are a family of five.
WiFi didn´t work very well in the room, outside in the corridor it worked just fine.
wonderful location just one mile from Powell and Market; the common areas are very clean and nicely decorated; the breakfast was a very nice continental breakfast in a cheerful breakfast room overlooking the little downtown area of Hayes Valley. Great location for the Symphony, Ballet, City Hall, Asian Art Museum. Half a block to Muni bus and half-mile to BART. Hotel has an arrangement for a $10 shuttle to the airport.
I was on the fourth floor with no elevator, glad I was traveling light. My room was in the back so noise wasn't a problem but those on the front complained about street noise. My room had a food smell that I thought was coming from a restaurant exhaust outside the window, but may have been due to something spilled inside the room. I carried a faint smell of it on my clothes that I noticed whenever I left the room.
The location is amazing! Some of the staff is outstanding (Dennis,Liz), both were welcoming and inviting. Basic breakfast services is better than most hotels. Shared toilets clean and kept up.
Street side noise is loud so if you are not used to big city noise, book a room on the inside. Shared shower stall could be better.
Good breakfast in a sunny corner room.
Being my first time in the city, I thought the hotel was cozy. The morning breakfast selection was excellent. There were many restaurants in the vicinity, some upscale and others not too dressy. The shower water was hot and wash facilities adequate for our one night stay.
The only issue we had which caused quite a bit of concern was the fact that there were many homeless people in this section of town. I recall one man yelling obscenities at the top of his lungs as drivers passed by. He would walk up to cars stopped at the traffic light or pedestrians, asking for money and then yelling at them. It made us feel a bit uneasy, as we weren't familiar with the city and most of our travel was by walking.
New kitchen. They keep making improvements
Parking is getting harder with each stay. Some deal should be made to use the parking garage with 24hr availability
Location was good. Room was quite small but had everything you needed. Kitchen was beautiful and a great place to sit and watch. Great breakfast and tea and coffee available. Bathroom was clean and even though it was shared I never once had to wait for it. Staff were helpful and full of information. They even gave us washing detergent to do our washing. There was a fantastic book/guide in our room which was really amazing. It was full of information about the city and things to do and see as well as restaurants, costs and how to get there.
Super friendly staff, comfortable beds, cute but very smalls rooms. They had a nice little lay out for breakfast. It's a great place for a place to sleep after a busy day in the city.
Parking was pretty hard to fine and the garages are a bit expensive
Excellent location. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Great price. Free continental breakfast. Very unique.
Communal bathroom (its really not that bad)
The shuttle to pick me up for the airport was late!
The location was amazing. Real breakfast, great selection.
The bathroom was disgusting. Room was small and ugly. Uncomfortable, squeaky bed. Exspensive for the quality.
The Breakfast was good. Liked the whole Setup of the Hotel and ist Location.
Staff, location, cleanliness.
Unable sleep well because the Noise from near rooms in the early morning. People went to bathroom, taking bath....
It is close to downtown of SF
There was always a bad smell which makes me feel leaving in sewer.
I loved the location! Very close to restaurants and bars and very central so it is easy to take public transportation all around the city. The hotel felt very homey and the staff was very nice. It's a great hotel for the price!
The bed was not very comfortable and they need to buy new pillows. The room was noisy, which I can understand being right in the middle of the city but that might be an issue for some. Ask for a room on the back if you are a light sleeper. I didn't mind having sharing bathrooms but there wasn't any hot water to shower when I went to shower one night so shower early. But overall, this place is great for the price.
Staff Location Decor
Cleanliness and friendly little hotel
Location close to bart, busses, lots of restaurants and the civic centre... Decor is beautiful
Shared shower was not always clean, especially in the mornings (before cleaners arrive)
My husband and I stayed here on a recent trip and were blown away by the location of the hotel. We ate dinner within walking distance almost every evening. We also enjoyed all of the little shops surrounding. There were plenty of Muni stops within walking distance as well. This hotel won't disappoint!
The staff was very helpful and the breakfast buffet was unbelievable.. A great value for the location, full of great restaurants, transportation, shopping and points of interest.
Location Friendly staff Economy
Sharing a shower. Took a while before they turned on the heat. City noise (but I'm from the burbs)
kind support from reception, good place, nice restaurants close to hotel. bus line 47 very close (fishermans wharf, etc.).
we had a (very) small room with no table...
Cookies and tea
The employee with pickles was very rude and unfriendly. The other employee were nice. Avoid the unfriendly employee, that is no service and give you feeling like you are nothing. Would tell that the manager.
