My husband and I stayed here on a recent trip and were blown away by the location of the hotel. We ate dinner within walking distance almost every evening. We also enjoyed all of the little shops surrounding. There were plenty of Muni stops within walking distance as well. This hotel won't disappoint!
The staff was very helpful and the breakfast buffet was unbelievable.. A great value for the location, full of great restaurants, transportation, shopping and points of interest.
Location Friendly staff Economy
Sharing a shower. Took a while before they turned on the heat. City noise (but I'm from the burbs)
kind support from reception, good place, nice restaurants close to hotel. bus line 47 very close (fishermans wharf, etc.).
we had a (very) small room with no table...
Cookies and tea
The employee with pickles was very rude and unfriendly. The other employee were nice. Avoid the unfriendly employee, that is no service and give you feeling like you are nothing. Would tell that the manager.
Personnal was +++++++!!! Location +++++++!!!
First time we been to an hotel with shared bathroom ... But in this hotel everything is very clean and also the bathroom were spot on !!! We will go back for sure
The service is very good
Very nice historic feel and great location without the fancy frills. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff.
Could improve attention to maintenance. Things like broken loops on shower curtain are very visible and easy to fix but remained for the three week days I was there
The rooms with sinks
Wonderful place in a very cool neighborhood with easy access to Symphony Hall. Ideal if your plans include culture. The nearby 5 bus has to be one of the most useful lines in SF, going from the Embarcadero to the length of Golden Gate Park. Staff is super friendly and helpful, and breakfast is definitely a cut above the norm. You'll probably meet some cool people at breakfast as well.
Our room was small, so if you're a couple, go for the Queen room. The shared bath put us off, but they're really well-maintained and were always available. So, what's up with American cheese slices for breakfast? This is San Francisco and you should be able to do better on the cheap.
Communal bathroom and toilet. It is not a bed and breakfast home but several hotel type rooms sharing communal bathroom and toilet in the hallway on each floor
Very friendly & helpful staff. Free afternoon tea & biscuits laid on. Lively neighbour with good local dining.
Shared bath & toilet facilities.
Convenient to the relatives we were visiting. Also within walking distance to many restaurants. The area around the hotel was clean. If you do not mind sharing bathrooms and showers with other guests this is a nice place to stay.
Located in a great spot with numerous restaurants, bars, coffee shops, boutique shops within walking distance. Close to the Painted Ladies. Decent breakfast options
Tiny rooms. Double beds (not queen). Share shower with entire floor. Beds were old and noisy (squeeky with every turn). No parking.
Breakfast was great, bed was comfortable Was a good value for area
No elevator and tiny (about 6' X 7') bathtub room that was shared - no place to hang clothes and no place to sit. Separate toilet room and sink in room.
Location (lots nice restaurants & in walking to distance to all major areas or means of transport)
Website (hotel is not described at all)
The ambiance, the B&B feel, the nice/polite/helpful staff
Breakfast is amazing! The staff is so lovely The location (the best) The style and atmosphere They're going the extra mile!
Just the air conditioning outside was a bit loud but we were unlucky to be in that one room
Great value for my dollar!
Our room was facing the street and the room was warm, so we needed to open the window. There was so much street noise it was difficult to sleep.
Super friendly staff Nice 'vibe' Good breakfast (relative to other American hotels) Nice location, although one still needs public transport to go to most highlights
Very small room Shared bathroom Have to park in public garage at some distance This all would have been no problem if the room didn't cost over 200 bucks per night
Computer and printer available for printing boarding passes. Clean. You can't hear street noise.
No Radio in room. No Lift (elevator) & there are no rooms accessible without climbing a flight of stairs: difficult with heavy baggage. No sink in communal rest-rooms. Bed squeaks with every movement.
The inn was very nice. The breakfast had plenty of options. And we were welcomed to San Francisco with an earthquake.
The shared bathrooms. We didn't know they were shared until we arrived at the Inn. It is not made very clear.on bookings.com that they are shared bathrooms.
Really friendly staff, nice room and comfortable bed. It's a classic B&B, european style. The location is great.
Noisy even at night, but the location is so good so I cannot complain. Only one shower room shared on each floor.
Great place to stay, fantastic location and the most helpful staff who are very knowledgeable about the city! Much better than staying in a chain hotel packed in with all the tourists!
