Lovely big room with lovely big queen sized beds, so very comfortable for 4 people. Big bathroom too with surfaces to put your toilet bags on. Interesting retro furniture and bright colours. Really welcoming and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Nice location.

Decor a bit tired. Some very eccentric features in the room, such as hanging rail above the safe so you couldn't hang anything longer than a cut-off shirt, also rail so high that I couldn't reach it (I'm 5'7'' so not short) and only electric sockets in a cluster of 4 so close together that you could only use one when using an adapter and also situated below the TV trolley so really tricky to access.

    Location and price / value.

Bathroom fixtures, lighting (not enough) and spotty TV channels.

The price was good, parking pricing at $42 per night and breakfast isn't included. The wine social hour is enticing but is only offered from 5-6pm which is difficult to attend with a busy day in DC. The room is retro and comfortable. Wish the hotel had a rooftop pool

Parking cost $42 per night, breakfast isn't included, no pool, and wifi isn't included

Location is great. Rooms very comfy, great size. Decor a little dated but space is great. Restaurant bar space is nice, but they close it by day, which is normally fine, but if you want to relax and do work not so useful. I have never drawn a line like this, however, I found the female staff very helpful, always friendly and will go the extra mile to hep out. Rather peculiar, the male staff at the front desk appeared cold and disinterested in helping.

The fact that having paid good dollars, for quite a long stay, that I had to pay to print a few documents in the "business area" and to not only pay to print, but to pay to firstly access the computer, seems quite stingy in light of the money spent at the hotel. As noted, female staff at front desk very friendly, for some reason the males at the front desk were a little cold.

Walkable to the city in 20 minutes. Very close to a free city bike station.

Room was a bit "fussy". Couldn't find the light switches for ages

Free wine from 5-6pm was something most places don't offer...and it went down a treat for us! The rooms looked cool, awesome decor. We liked the area too - loads of places to eat and drink.

Everything was excellent. USB ports near bed for charging your phone, nice wi-fi, pretty nice and helpful staff, beautifully designed room. Hotel for young and energetic!) Iron, hear-drier, glasses in room.

    No breakfast.

The staff was wonderful. We really liked Chance he went above and beyond.

Breakfast could have more to choose from, like an omelet station. The bathroom was a bit small.

My room was large, bed very comfortable, bathroom very small however but not big deal as it was just me. Location could be drawback for some as it is about 15-20 minutes from a metro stop, but lots of great restaurants close by. Would definitely stay here again.

    Very funky hotel, good location.

Happy hour too short, small room was overlooking the dumpsters, left a pair of jeans behind and when I called they wanted a credit card to ship FedEx, I decided to leave them behind since there was no option to use priority mail at a fraction of the cost. Disappointed about having to pay the price for shipping the jeans but they weren't worth the expense.

    pet friendly

My girlfriend broke out in hives within 20 minutes of getting to our room. The room was on the dog floor. Also, my friend had to switch rooms because it had a moldy smell. In all, the hotel is a cute boutique but you are better off parking on the street or at the holiday inn down the block.

It was fun, funky and friendly. The staff couldn't have been nicer. They think of everything and work to make your stay pleasant... Like the ritz Carlton but more funky and affordable instead of over the top plush.

Parking was expensive relative to cost of the room...but it is DC so expected

I just love the retro decor of the helix. I find it very unique and satisfying and will continue to use the facility. Comfortable beds, incredibly spacious rooms and USB's everywhere.

I just wish the staff enjoyed working there half aS much I enjoy staying there. Not a smile to be found... They're stuck up acting but for what? They look like dirty hipsters that need a bath.

I liked the look of the hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

No coffee maker in the room. I'm a very early riser and had to wait for coffee and had to go downstairs to get it. That's my only complaint

The lobby is nice. Mirrors eveywhere! Staff was very accommodating to our needs. Beds are comfortable and the room was clean! Great location. Pretty much in the heart of dc. Not one of Kimpton's best that I've stayed in, but you get what you pay for..

They gave us a key to the mini bar that didn't work. So had to call for another one! Along with an iron and a room service menu that they claim should have been in the room. Also.. The curtains in the room looked a little dated and that same night right before going to bed I found a small spider making its way through our sheets! Thank God we didn't get bit! &Amp;& they charge $50 a night for parking; as much as you pay for the room that should be free or complementary for a night! Oh. &Amp;& the elevators take forever! &Amp;& the wall art in the room looks a little cheap! &Amp;& no long mirrors in the room. So you'll have to wait until you get to the lobby!

I had a reservation made months ago but had to add one day to my trip. When I went to book all rooms everywhere were gone and none available. I called and checked often but was still told no rooms. The evening before I had to check out, a manager (I think) named Jay asked me if he could help and he did! I saw him often at the hotel afterwards and he was quick to smile and ask how I was doing. Great service!!
