Amazing view of central park. Awesome location. Loved it!
The bathrooms needs to be modernized and some refurbishing.
Everything was perfect! Comfortable, clean, beautiful, friendly staff. Very nice!
Room was spacious and very comfortable. Location is great being at one end of 5th Avenue and opposite Central Park. Staff were friendly and helpful
No room service apart from breakfast. Wi-Fi is charged in a facility fee which at $30 per day is a bit expensive for what it is. I also found the Wi-Fi to be a bit temperamental and would drop out from time to time.
Great location Doormen are friendly and helpful
Be nice if the reception staff had a smile on there face
The heating /air conditioning system made noises like an industrial revolution steam hammer from time to time. The bath/shower drain was blocked. The fire alarm went off three times during the night and we spent the night feeling that the only way they stopped it was by turning it off. There was no kettle in the room and there was no facility in the whole hotel for making or acquiring a hot tea or coffee before 6.30am. Guests need to bring a dipstick cup heater from the 1970's but be aware there are no sprinkler systems in the rooms (although there is in the hallways) for the inevitable accidents. A "facilities charge" was added to our bill on check out. This is covers: Use of fitness centre Use of business centre Hospitality drinks etc from 5 - 7pm Wifi internet and telephone calls which is pretty much the same thing in these days of Facetime and Skype and which had been charged for elsewhere on the package anyway. We did not use any of these "facilities", except the one already paid for but our pre authorised credit card was charged for them anyway, despite complaint. This practice is no more than institutionalised mugging and straight forward theft which adds another 20% to the bill and is illegal in most countries, certainly the UK. The booking was made through Bookings.com and without reading the entire small print I expect the contract is subject the jurisdiction of a flakey state that allows this sort of thing. To be fair, it has there has never been any reason to read it with my other bookings on Bookings.com as all have worked perfectly. Recommendations: don't even think about going to the Park Lane Hotel, and maybe give New York a miss altogether.
great location. Very comfortable room and bed
Excellent location. Comfortable bed and staff were friendly.
The compulsory $30 charge for hospitality and wifi. The overall decor could benefit from some refreshment.
Location and the happy hour
Everyone was nice, the location is great.
Bathroom was a bit dated.
Great location, quiet, wonderful breakfast room overlooking the park, comfortable and attractive, albeit slightly worn, guest room
An imposed 30$ a day Internet fee, mentioned in the small print and not immediately evident.
Very old and no mini bar in the room and the safty box is really bad
Service options, amenities
Great location, upgraded to room with beautiful view of central park, comfy bed and spacious room.
Only one tiny bottle of shampoo for 3 people, not replentished in a three day stay. Also, safe didn't work
Location great.Loved the drinks reception great idea for socialising and great value.
No bad experiences but coffee/tea in room would have been handy.
Great location, Close to 5th Avenue, Great Breakfast, Great View of Central Park, 5-7 event for guests in the Park Room, Harry's famous bar for after hour meal and beverages. Great service and friendly staff. Always a great location to stay when in New York City!
I have stayed here several times and feel very comfortable
No kettle in the room, bathroom amenities poor
Very comfortable and spacious. Good location across from Central Park.
room next to elevator.
No service attitude by staff
the service was extremely bad, they don t have minibar service, at least for water, it was too cold in the room, staff was rood, rooms are old.
rooms and bathrooms are totally outdated. Bathrooms are dirty, old, rusty, broken... you name it. Unworthy for such hotel. In addition, 30$ per day for wifi is a deal breaker nowadays.
From the moment we walked in, we were treated extremely well and received an upgrade to a bigger room. The happy hour the hotel has is excellent and worth the $30 charge. We had to leave early as our child got sick and we had to go back home. The hotel was very understanding about it and did not charge us for leaving early--which we really appreciated. We will definitely stay at the Park Lane the next time we are visiting NYC.
I always look for faults with things that I pay for these days and could hardly find one with this hotel.....
When we checked in the girl on reception didn't tell about having paid wifi......
Amazing location and lovely appointed rooms and I got to enjoy a great view. Breakfast was lovely too.
The facility fee, which for me basically meant an internet charge, was very high. Furthermore the breakfast charge was quite high for what you get. It was very tasty but a bit on the expensive side.
The $30 Facility charge was a turnoff
