The staff was more accommodating. They all tried very hard to make sure our stay as well as all the guest stay was a great experience.
I noticed that guest did not tip the waiters at the continental breakfast on the second floor. We did and it was very much appreciated.
There is no refrigerator
We like this hotel for it's great Park View rooms, it's location, big rooms and we find it's a great value for money.
This hotel always lives up to expectations. It has efficient staff, clean and spacious rooms and excellent facilities
The bathroom tap kept dripping but that is very minor
The location opposite Central Park first drew our attention. After staying for 3 nights, we appreciated the comfortable, spacious rooms, the helpful staff and the lovely atmosphere of the hotel. We would certainly return when visiting NYC in the future.
The comfortable bed. The location was perfect.
On arrival in room the toilet was not flushing. It was repaired as soon as it was reported.
The rooms are too old. Bathrooms are the same.
Location Friendly and efficient service by staff Fantastic view from room Cleanliness
Excellent location on Central Park South. Excellent breakfast room overlooking the park. Very comfortable bed. Staff very helpful & friendly. This was our 3rd stay at this hotel & we would certainly stay here next time as well.
Being told that they expected us the day before we arrived despite the booking being made for 2 couples arriving at the same time!! As a result, we had to wait a few hours for a park view room to be available for us. Baths are old & could do with replacing.
Next door to the Plaza, this hotel is in one of the most select parts of Manhatten. It had the overall good quality and services for what could be considered a reasonable price for this location. We were impressed with the quickness of the service when we ordered a technician for an electrical problem and the promptness with which ice was delivered.
The air conditioning unit in our room was quite noisy and varied in the amount of noise it made (from quite loud to rather loud). The bar (Harry's Bar) is not to be recommended. The prices of the drinks are eye-watering (e.g. 9$ each for standard bottled beers, no beer on tap) and a 20% service charge is automatically applied, no option. I guess they are taking advantage of the lack of bars in this part of Manhattan.
the location is nice to those who seek being near the cenral park
Front desk not orgnized well the elevators are extremely slow
The staff were very helpful and the room was lovely. Great location.
Rates are rather high.
Professional, engaging staff. Very responsive to guest needs.
Room showed its wear with frayed wallpaper in bathroom & screw hokes indicating something was moved. 1 decorative pillow had grease stains & the room could stand to be painted.
location close to subway - excellent bed - spacy room
nothing - everything was OK
The Location was great right opposite Central Park. Clean comfortable Room. Had a City View.
No free Wi-Fi, no Tea or Coffee making facility. Breakfast was really expensive so chose to go to a local Dinner
the staff were very courteous but overwhelmed by the crush of clients. The room was quiet and restful at 38th floor.
the restaurant served poor quality, tasteless food at very high prices. The lobby was so small that all the people checking out had little room to maneuver. the premium city view was not worth the extra cost.
perfect location for ny. great staff
The location The kindness and Client orientation of the Staff
There is always problems when the price stated is not the final cost for the user. It's not just about the amount of the taxes, its mainly about the Facility Fee of 30 USD per day. This fee is mandatory and does not comes from any legal obligation. To my point of view I couldn't see any reason not to qualify this fee as a dishonest business practice.
The rooms were lovely and the reception staff helpful.
Watch out for the barman who brings you bottled water when you request plain tap water. What a ripoff!
Location, view, comfort, cleanliness, room service
No mini bar or fridge in room, paying for wifi each day
Room and view were superb. Good value for a fairly spacious NYC hotel room. Great location, quiet room.
$30 "bonus package" wasn't optional and we really didn't need any of the things it included.
Great location. If you are looking for the worst hotel in the best location, then stay here. If you are looking for a true Central Park South luxury expereince, go to the Ritz at the end of the block.
Every time that I returned to my room I needed to have them give me new key cards, because they kept deactivating. I didn't have them near magnets, cell phones, nothing. Also, they were wildly understaffed on a sold-out Saturday evening, leaving one person at the desk. I had to wait 20 minutes to get into my room that evening, and I didn't have the time for that unanticipated delay.
Service was phenomenal and room was great. Breakfast overlooking Central Park was awesome.
Lobby on Central Park side was sometimes overly crowded.
The room was on central perk..it's unforgettable.
If you want to be on Central Park, then this is one of the few hotels that qualifies (alone with the Essex House, the Plaza, the Pierre, etc, which are in a very different class). It's all about location. Walk out the front door, across the street, and you're in Central Park, and walking! Many of the rooms have been upgraded on the upper floors, they have a breakfast nook with coffee, tea and pastries for purchase now (to compete with the renowned Fika coffee shop around the corner), and complimentary wine and beer with hot dishes at 5PM in the 2nd floor dining room. Staff are attentive and helpful. The concierge guided us to Remi for a suburb Italian dinner.
Even if it's not the Plaza, it's still expensive.
