With in walking distance to most tour transport
Upgraded to the Ambassador Suite - lovely! Quiet (no air conditioning unit noise) and classicly furnished. Bed (firm) and linen (so soft) wonderful. Beautiful old hotel but with up to date equipment.
I loved the bar they have at this hotel. We ate there for breakfast and lunch both days the food and service was spectacular! The hotel room was small and so clean. All we needed. And located a walk away from all the sites and museums. Bring water and walking shoes! :)
I was happy with everything. The people were great!
loved everything not one fault
Comfortable, practical Room Close to vital downtown locations
Bad unstable Wifi
Great location - walk to White House and Smithsonian and other attractions
Loves this hotel..
There wasn't anything not to like
Good location, friendly staff, well kept heritage building, free WiFi. Clean comfortable rooms. Everything works.
Price is high for room quality. Furniture older, TV small and older.
Lovely Hotel and location
This hotel felt like a 4 star hotel. The room was excellent and the location was perfect for us
I asked for a taxi and I was put into a private car, which cost almost double what it should have!
convienant location friendly professional staff excellant restaurant
nothing- had a great experience
Classic hotel, restaurant staff were awesome
front desk could be cheerier
Pretty good restaurant. centrally located
Unbelievably noisey. Giant metal plate in the street outside and paper thin walls made it impossible to get any real sleep. Price was way too high for what I got.
If you are attending a conference at the George F Washington Conference Center, then this is a great location. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and a good size. I loved the charm of this century old hotel but if you don't like century charm this will not be the hotel for you.
The wifi in my room was very poor - could not get a stable connection. The heating/cooling system is antiquated and the one in my room did not work very well, it was tolerable but an upgrade to this system would be a major improvement.
The location was excellent. The hotel is an historic hotel and was beautifully presented. The old world furniture and decor were lovely but in no way was comfort compromised.
The staff seemed uninterested. Very little enthusiasm for a guest checking in. The restaurant and bar seemed to be understaffed and the menu lacked variety. They could do so much more with the restaurant and bar facilities.
Solid comfort, hush, and openable windows of a lovely "old world classy" building with well-done modern adaptations.
Great location and excellent staff. Every one was kind, went above and beyond expectations and greeted you with a smile.
Small nice interesting bar area just not in the hotel that long
They put me in a closet and garbage trucks woke me every mooring before 6 AM! I think it was literally a closet!
The room was very nice (the bed was excellent) and the staff was excellent.
The wi-fi was a little slow (we are accustom to hi speed at home).
The males at the hotel were extremely attentive to our needs. We were very happy with the beautiful hotel, the lovely afternoon tea we experienced and the room was very spacious. Would definitely return if we get to visit Washington again.
May the waitress took our order for drinks at happy hour one afternoon but then we didn't see the drinks as she disappeared so we returned to our room.
The room was so comfortable, quiet and the staff was so friendly. The location was really convinient, just around the corner you can take the bus that takes you near the white house. We were not charged a security deposit.
I liked everything about the hotel.
Old historic feel
Small rooms not overly decorated. Bar wasn't anything special. Bathroom was very small. No view
Large spacious suite, great location and very helpful staff.
Extremely loud building works and sirens echoing up in to the room, all night long. On the second night we had the pleasure of jack hammering at 11pm at night. The construction of the Marriott Hotel across the road has a deadline of early May so the HPH guests will just have to grin and bear it until they are finished. We moved to a smaller room at the back of the hotel for a reduced rate. Having to pack up and move was an inconvenience especially that late at night before a long haul flight back to Australia. The staff were very considerate under extremely difficult conditions.
Nice room, good location, nice hotel
The staff, so rude, maids constantly knocking on from 9am when they were told we were checking out at 12. Check in desk staff poor attitude, moody not helpful. Lovely hotel but staff ruined the experience and left us feeling negative. Would not stay again.
