Staff were friendly, location was perfect and thank goodness the stay was on sale.
Half the towels smelled like mold, no way to control heat and the rooms were chilly half the time, no hot water most of the time and showers would only run hot for 5-8 minutes.
Coffee machine switched off very early in the evening... Should be open al least till 8pm.
Include bed and bf
Staff helpful, location fabulous for seeing NYC sights.
Coffee/tea machine not functioning and coldest time of the year
Late check in
location, price, comfortable bed, free wifi
Comfy beds Perfect location in midtown - walking distance to Times square, empire state, shopping - Macys etc Cheap! Value for money
2nd elevator SO SO slow (we were on 9th floor and used other elevator to level 8 and walked up to 9) Wifi works but it always makes you log in repeatedly (not a big deal) Don't use the car service at the hotel for airport its ridiculously expensive - just hail a cab on the road instead Room with 2 double beds on the smaller side but expected this so it was fine
I liked the room and bed. Space was okay even though the bathroom door only opened halfway before hitting the bed. The rest of the room was spacious and I enjoyed having two large beds instead of two singles.
The desk staff was just matter of fact. Mostly they were there to open the front door buzzer, and check you in and out. It felt awkward and imposing to ask them a question about the city. There were no other amenities. No coffee in the morning etc. Good thing the Hyatt is across the street for breakfast.
We stayed at one of the renovated rooms, can;t say anything about the others but ours was quite confortable, not very big but still great value for the money.
Staff quite rude and not willing to help much, we had a problem with a few stuff bought online that weren't delivered and they just looked like they didn't care at all.
Everything - quiet room, comfortable bed, really helpful and friendly staff, easy location
Very comfortable bed. Nice and clean room / bathroom. Great location close to Herald Square Subway Station. Free WiFi and reasonably fast. Nice TV and choice of channels. Room service ok with clean towels, bed making, bin emptying.
Room was noisy from the radiator / water pipes (especially in the middle of the night - loud enough to wake us up). Coffee machine in reception did not work all week. Room price quoted on Booking.com did not include the tax - was charged almost an extra $200 on check out.
I like this hotel for leving my next visit
The room was large, modern, clean, quiet, and comfortable. I reserved as a single but two persons would be comfortable in this room. The bathroom was huge with marble floors and walls and lovely new high end fixtures, including a great tub and shower. The location is convenient to several subway lines, with many shops and restaurants nearby. Don't be put off by the block, which is safe but not terribly appealing, or the lobby of the hotel, which is modest. This was excellent value in New York.
No bad experiences. If you're looking for a luxury hotel, keep looking. But for comfort, value, and convenience, the Herald Square was excellent.
Great location, good price.
Impolite staff, the badroom was clean just on the first day. We stayed there for 25 days and it seemed that the maids didn't clean the badroom.
too old facility
Beds very comfy! Staff friendly, hotel very clean
Wifi cut out every hour or so, no kettle etc in room, cleaners noisy in the mornings
A bit of a wait for our room.
The room was clean and comfortable. Not quite as fancy as the pictures, but the bed was great. The location was good for my purposes, centrally located, right near the Empire state building. Would be great for someone wanting to take in the sights.
The noise from the street could be a little intense, like when cars were honking, and the radiator made a loud whistling sound, but none of this bothered me enough to be unhappy with it.
Location, bed comfort. Overall very good however the lack of heat in our bedroom during the day was almost not tolerable the time we wanted to spend in our room. Also there were several days at the beginning of our stay when bathroom water was cold or took way too long to get even warm. With all of that said, we would return to room 519! Room preparation each morning was excellent, considerate and pleasant!
i loved the location. i liked how quiet it was.
location and bed
Large refurbished rooms Decoration Big fluffy bed! Location Proximity to great restaurants
Entrance feels like a vault with armored glass and security access. I guess they have their reasons...
The location and the hot chocolate in the reception was great!
The heating was not enough but the covers on the bed were good enough.
Girl with a reception provides a very bad attention, is totally unfriendly, I had a bad experience with she, while Chilean lady is a caring and charismatic person.
They have a coffee place in the lobby where they have this advance coffee machine and they even give you chocolates. Wifi was fast.
The street where is located is kind of ugly but when you get the corner you find everything nearby. They have to improve the cleanliness in their bathrooms and renovate a lot of stuff in the rooms that seems old.
