The woman at the front desk in the evening is the rudest, coldest person I have ever encountered. How she is allowed to work in hospitality is beyond me. I question the judgement of any establishment that believes in treating their guests rudely starting at check in. When I called the next morning to enquire about late check out, the clerk rudely told me "I am very busy today!", then later a maid came to scold me about not checking out earlier as apparently no one had told her I had requested a late check out. Staff seems utterly contemptuous of guests. Luckily, there are friendlier, professional hotels right across the street.
Close to subway, shopping (Macy's, 5th Avenue, etc.), Empire State Building, and walking distance to Bryant Park and other areas. Bed was very comfortable even though it took up the entire room!
