The room & bathroom were huge by NYC standards. It was a very nicely presented room & the location was perfect.
Bed was a bit too soft (but everyone's preferences are different!). I would have preferred a simpler coffee maker in my room rather than the fancy one (which did make very good coffee) open only a few hours a day in the lobby.
Loved the hotel and location, very convenient. The room was small and quaint and had the most comfortable bed. Highly recommended and we would stay again
Location, comfortable bed, window view
Room would get chilly. No heat controls
Accomodations & price were good.
I would have liked to be closer to Times Square.
The hotel is in a central area and allows guests easy access to some main attractions. Also, the bathroom was very spacious and clean.
I was a bit surprised to find the bed so close to the front door.
The room was clean, the bed was very, very comfortable.
The fact that the electrical outlet for the bathroom was outside of the bathroom.
Location was amazing Very nicely decorated on the outside for the holidays
Having to be buzzed in every time ..gave a seedy feel to the place. Small rooms but it is NY!
Loved the location. The room was small but clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful and spacious. The large cedar closet also a nice feature. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
No food available in hotel at all. Ice only available on first floor. Having to be buzzed in made it feel like perhaps the neighborhood was unsafe although it didn't appear to be. They only give you one key card.
Easy walk from Penn Station, Macy's, Empire State and numerous restaurant.
No complaints. Would stay at the Herald Square again.
noisy radiators at 4.30 am and again at 6.30
The friendliness of the staff especially Monica .Always welcoming and ready to help with anything .I have been a customer for years and like the location .
My room was ready early in morning so I was able to check in and go about my day.
kids screaming up and down the halls. Woke me up because they were so loud.
The cleanliness of our room. The proximity of the hotel.
The front office clerks behaved sullen at most of our time. There was a limited time to drink complimentary coffee which was really early. The lockers are provided for only for a day. Wi-fi was annoying. You have to re-join the network almost every 15 minutes.
The overall ambiance.
The NYC taxes and imposed fees
The Hotel is in a perfect location When we arrived at the hotel we were upgraded to a newly refurbished room it was very big had a comfortable bed and a well equipped new bathroom. Loved the coffee maker on the ground floor, We had latte's very day, Staff very friendly
Comfortable , clean bed.
The morning coffee bar was good. I would have liked o have some breakfast food items.
Couldn't have picked a better location, just a few blocks from the Empire State Building! Clean and basic but the bed was soooo comfortable and just what was needed after being on your feet all day. Excellent value for money and would stay again.
Very central. Close to all amenities.
Not enough Hot water. Cold showers most mornings. Small rooms.
The shower hot water did not stay hot. It would take a very long time to get hot and then it would quickly go back to bring cold
Being stung for another $100 on top of an already expensive stay. This detail should be made more clear at the time of booking
Pretty hotel in the Middleton of Manhattan. Very nice people.
The heater made noises.
The beds The location The staff
Need table between 2 beds Need towel hooks to hang in bathroom Need 2 wastebaskets Hardwood to replace carpet.
Never slept in more comfortable bed! Room size, for NYC, was uncramped. Very clean. Loved the fact a shower cap was among the bathroom toiletries.
We managed to change to another room on level 9 and this room was great !
We booked a double bed room for 4 days. On the date of arrival, we requested for a renovated room as we have read the comments from other reviewers to request for a renovated room. However, we are told that they do not have double room which were renovated. We are provided with an old and small double bed room where the shower is faulty. This room is located on level 8. We stayed in this room for 1 night. The next day , we informed the reception and requested to transfer to another room . We were given a room located on level 9 . This room is much better. We enjoy the 3 days stay at Herald Square Hotel. I think the hotel should consider upgrading that double bed room located at level 8 as this room is really below our expectation.
