The location was great. The relative closeness to the subway system, attractions, shopping and of course the wide variety of eating establishments within walking distance.
Great location and comfy beds as well as secure entry
Bath tub wouldn't drain well and also wouldn't hold water for bath. No tea/coffee as to missed online and wifi kept disconnecting every few minutes.
The bed was wonderful comfortable and the room and bathroom were so pretty and comfortable.
I liked everything about it.
This was convenient to Penn Station and priced reasonably for two rooms for two nights. The history enhanced the charm of the accommodations.
The beds were softer than we like and the sinks in the restrooms were low, but this should be expected in older buildings.
Second time staying here, and it's been done up since we last stayed, very tastefully too, staff friendly and location excellent, very comfortable bed and very clean room, would recommend highly
Had tea and coffee available last time but they have taken it away which is a shame
Location. Older hotel, like the style of the old Life Magazine building. Some staff was very friendly and good. Good beds. Good linen. Good bathroom amenities. WiFi good. Good Laundry.
No coffee/tea facilities, although it was advertised as being available in the lobby. Non-clear-glass windows, i.e. one does not know, if it is raining, snowing, sun is shining.
Given the inflated price of rooms in Manhattan, this was a real value. It was also ideally located for use of Penn Station and things I had to do in Gramercy Park.
Location, near everything.
old style spacious room and bathroom, very well maintained. Comfortable desk for a traveler who needs to work. Polite staff. very clean. Very safe feeling.
Room (not only mine) overheated. Buzz coming from somewhere requiring me to use earplugs. Lobby and public facilities are at the level of youth hostel.
Very big room and bath
Rooms were very small
Shower needed a new shower head. They gave us a upgrade but the room was basic and bare.
They have two different kind of rooms. The first two nights, whe had a room on the eighth floor , this room was good, the bed was amazing, but with a lot of noises that came from the old facilities of the hotel. The other two nights we had a room on the fifth floor and the room was splendid and very glamorous. Regarding the beds , they are very comfortable and big.
- No free tea or hot chocolate.
Location and bed. Everything else is less than poor.
Pay 1$ per page to print. Reception sitting in the blocked glass room. No hairdryer in the room- so if you washed your head- go to reception to get a hairdryer. No breakfast. Design is good from the entrance- inside 70's and very dull. Staff is not friendly(exc 1 young girl). Reasonable price and very good location.
The bed, room etc were great, we requested an internal renovated room on advice of room tips, but we ended up with a room at the front with 2 double beds. We did not have any trouble with noise and it was very comfortable and roomy.
The rooms are missing tea and coffee making facilities, these are supposedly offered in the lobby but the machine doesn't work and seems to have been out of action for a long time. There is also no fridge in the room. The staff were not very helpful at all. There were few smiles or sentances with more than three words. This aside I would stay here again and bring my own kettle.
Quiet, good location, nearby metro, convenience stores and restaurants.
Heating was a bit too hot and it was not possible to change it directly in the room. Was a fixed temperature.
value for money location clean room
cold room not enough heating not enough hot water
Great helpful friendly staff. Clean place and great comfortable bed. Enjoyed the history article.
Unfortunately didn't get much sleep- heating system and toilet were far too noisy. No Wifi on Saturday as the system was down we were told, the only day we needed to do money transfers, ironically.
Location, the room was spacious, nicely designed, nice staff except from Mayra.
I got room 116, the only thing I didn't like about it was that it is very dark.
The coffee and free wi-fi
The hotel is not what was advertised on the internet. It was more beautiful on the internet.
Nothing except location Monica from the front desk is nice lady
Beds smell so bad, sheets are dirty, rust all over the bath run and toilets, no hot water , I stayed for 2 nights, changed the room 4 times, very poor wifi. U cannot sleep at all because there are some pipes inside all the rooms that u feel someone in there digging all need night.. So bad experience
little smoking smelling
Staff were friendly, location was perfect and thank goodness the stay was on sale.
Half the towels smelled like mold, no way to control heat and the rooms were chilly half the time, no hot water most of the time and showers would only run hot for 5-8 minutes.
Coffee machine switched off very early in the evening... Should be open al least till 8pm.
