Location is excellent, mid-town Manhattan. The room was clean and quiet, which is quite a treat in NYC, the bed comfortable. It is a very small room with the only window opening to a small, dark yard, but as a solo traveler who just needed to crash for the night that did not bother me at all.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable and clean. Very central position close to all sight seeing. Nice wine bar next door with good food.

Nice location and very friendly staff.

The hot water seemed to be available sometimes and unavailable at other times. When it was available, it was fine. I wonder if the hot water heater is sufficiently large.

Excellent location, less than 10 minutes from Herald Square and subway. Good eating choices next door and within short distance. Complimentary coffee machine in lobby/lounge was a nice feature, and the bright lounge with old leather chairs and pictures from Life magazine was a good place to relax. Room was a reasonable size, recently refurnished, and huge marble bathroom with rainforest shower was very nice. This is the former Life building and hallways were full of pictures of olkd Life magazine covers.

Hotel excelente! Otima localização, equipe e quarto. Receberam as milhares d encomendas q mandei pra la, sem problemas e sem cobrar por isso. Alem disso, cheguei pela manha e como estavamos com nossa bebe de 6 meses, deixaram a gente fazer early check in de graça! !! Enfim, um excelente custo beneficio pros padroes de NYC.

the bed was comfortable. The view was nice to have in the city. It was relatively quiet and temperature with windows open stayed nice. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The laundry facility is awesome and great for extended stayers. Public restroom on the main floor. Nice sitting area. Good coffee. great great great location and we liked that it was a family owned hotel!

Good situated, enough comfort, good service, good coffee machine, good lockers for the bagage after checking out.

Great location, close to transportation, shops and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable.

For a room for 4 people, the bathroom was a bit small and the shower lacked power - better to take a bath instead.

Great location, just in between Broadway and 5th avenue. Close to Macy's and subways. I booked a room for 1 person and was given a double room. with big bathroom.

Airco is noisy, you can't put it on at night, so it may be warm in the summer.

The location was perfect. Bed and bathroom very good. Friendly people working there.

No coffee/tea facilities in the room. Coffee machine downstairs closed at 7 pm.

The Bathroom was very clean and I loved the Aveda products that were provided. The bedroom we were in was very much like a bed and breakfast~~high comfortable bed with nice linens.The Hotel is more like an Inn and we would stay there again~~great location in a quiet area very close to everything.

The lobby was very small, coffee machine was week and slow, however there were lots of places in walking distance for coffee and breakfast. The staff was behind a glass wall for protection---we guess--and we were nervous about that af first---

our bedroom only had 1 window that looked out at a wall, also in the bathroom ,both windows would not open,maybe because of the amount of noise from the air con unit outside of the window from across the way. It kept us awake most nights banging noise from water pipes early in the morning (maybe because its an old building ) , worst thing no real hot water only warm tried at different times of the day, morning and night and just the same warm/cold,water. bath plug did not work properly so could not have a bath without water draining. bedroom and bathroom was tired looking, i felt needed a fresh coat of paint was all it needed also looked like water damage on walls and ceilings in bathroom from room above must have had a flood at some time .Half the Television channel had lines across the screen so not really watchable. All this didn't really bother us as we didn't stay in the room that much.

Our window looked out on the wall of a neighboring house. A coffee machine works at inconvenient hours in the lobby.

The total cost upon departure was much more than I had anticipated. The booking.com prices + tax were a little deceiving to interpret. It was about $100 more than I was expecting to pay.

The staff at the reception desk is not polite, almost rude.

Location was good for sightseeing trip, close to Empire State Building, subway, Macy's. Laundry facilities very handy.

Uncomfortable lumpy beds, restricted hours for coffee machine, very slow lifts.
