Everything was just awesome. This was my first hostel experience and I have no words to describe. I am a solo traveller who loves travelling a lot. Extremely happy about the comfort and the staff, good atmosphere, location. Got to meet people from across the world. The events and tour they organize are just outstanding. Would recommend this hostel for any solo travellers.
Nothing that I did not like.
NIce location, well connected with transport, well maintained.
only the problem is they dont have dorm with less people

I liked that they have activities so guests can share together. They have stand up comedy shows, shout out to Max a very funny and talented comedian. One more thing that I found amazing is the cozy feeling and the environment of the hostel, nothing overacted. Ah, and they have a huge kitchen with everything you might need(food is on you). Last and most important thing, the cleanliness, bathroom and showers are always clean and well maintained, hallways and common sitting areas are also clean, kitchen is always shiny. 5 stars for cleanliness.
two things, 1. mattress is wrapped in plastic, not that you'll sleep on it directly, but it felt weird and a bit uncomfy. 2. a killer slow, busy elevator. I would recommend using the stairs up and down better than waiting for it for 5 minuets, then it will stop on each and every level.
The hostel is located really close to the metro which was really convenient and the staff were great and always very friendly. This was my first time staying in the hostel but with tours and nightly pub crawls it was really easy to get to know people and see the city. Fair warning if you sign up for any of the tours make sure you wear good shoes because they usually have 3+ hours of walking. All in all I was very happy with the hostel and would stay at another HI in the future.
I wouldn't recommend taking the comedy tour even though it always seems to have a lot of people sigh up for it. It costs $10 but I can't see why, you walk for Bout 2 hours not seeing anything interesting, then he files you into some really tiny clubs for about 5mins so some guy can tell you how funny the guide is only to leave again, get a slice of $5 pizza and then back track to a bar passed earlier to see a FREE Comedy show. Anyway the pub crawl after was fun but I would recommend finding out which comedy club they're going to and meet up with the group and skip everything before because it gets old really fast, and since you have to pay for everything I don't think it should cost anything.
The location was good as the line 1 is just two blocks away.
The shared rooms were stuffy as the ventilation was poor.
- The kitchen and dining area is top notch! I stayed there for 10 nights and it was spotless all the time. They even have a blender...! An awesome place to chill out with friends. - The room is clean and they provide sheets and a thick blanket. - The staff were awesome and so friendly - The $10 Harlem tour was amazing - I encourage everyone to do this tour. - Location is amazing. Its a minute walk to subway. The hostel is next to the projects but its super safe. Just don't use the B-C line when its dark - stick to the 1 line.
- the elevator was incredibly slow - but it doesn't matter everyone uses the stairs anyway.
Lively environment in the hostel and their daily tours and other activities! !
Beds are too small and the rooms should have regular air freshers. .
The room is too cold！The bathroom is cold too!
Great place to meet people if you travel alone, and they offer a nice variety of activities for first time travellers to Manhattan. Helpful personel.
The aircondition is really loud and starts really early in the morning.
Perfect I love it.
Wish I can. Stay longer.like 3 weeks.
This was my first hostel experience and was definitely good. Excellent enviroment, great rooms and facilities. The breakfast is delicious.
Perfect.very good staff. Wonderful. People I. Love. Every. Part. Oft. It. Thanking
The vegetarian food that they served in cafeteria was very good. Also the free central park tour with Bob was great, thanks!
The second night, there was weird banging and loud noises that didn't stop until the morning. Everyone in the dorm room had it hard to sleep.
I was on the top bunk
It is near the subway line; it has comedy night; it has its own coffee shop/snack bar. All good.
The wifi service slows down to a halt in the evening. I think too many people are watching videos on the laptops and the system cannot handle the traffic. It really wasted my time, because I was on business.
Good location, lots of other guests to meet and space to hang out. Great cafe inside the hostel with excellent food. Very clean. Helpful staff.
Worth for money. Highly recommended for those travel in group of friends. Easy for food. Easy for public transportation. Easy to cheer around with friends in the hostel.
Feeling boring as solo traveler. I was placed in female room with the mistake made by the counter. You will not be treated as guest of the hotel. "If you like it, you stay here. If you don't like it, you may choose other" Do not get cheated with the out to date published photos!
What I liked about this hostel was the ease of getting around, the people I met - including staff, and the overall experience here.
What I didn't like was I had to wait until after 4PM to check in, but I now understand this.
Very friendly stuff, the restrooms and showers were clean and comfortable, lovely bar with sandwiches, bagels, wraps, fruit, salads, coffee, the chilling rooms.
My first time in a hostel and I am impressed how organized, clean and accessible the place is. Will definitely stay again.
- Cleanness - Location is near metro station - Area is quiet - it's got a locker to put your stuff if checked out
- rooms are busy, 6 br and people come and go, just have to embrace the fact of a busy hustle - i just could not sleep there, bed was totally not comfy
Good cafe. Good location. Good price.
Small room. Air conditioning problem.
close to subway, clean and quite room, nice and helpful staff
elevator was really slow
