I wasn't sure what to expect. I reserved a private room. I loved the privacy, facilities and having a free breakfast each morning
The noise level. People slamming the doors and talking really loudly.
The location was perfect for my sister and me (70 and 73). It was a short walk to the transit station. A half block away is the fabulous gateway and dragon that leads to the International District. Right next door is Henrey's, a very good Thai restaurant. The neighborhood was clean, quiet, and safe at night. The hostel itself was as nice as any I have stayed in.
Lady at front desk was helpful
I reserved a 1-person room and when I arrived, I received a 4-bed room. This isn't what I wanted and beds were all WAY too close together, unlike what was indicated in their picture on booking.com (not booking.com's fault at all). The rooms were also nothing like what was depicted in the same said photo. Also, I was given the option, on their website, to make a special reservation request, and after a couple days of no response, I subsequently contacted the hostel via telephone and inquired about it. I explained my fairly desperate situation and the guy on the phone responded by saying that they absolutely can't make an exception to the normal check-in time. VERY disappointed and somewhat angry. Never staying here again! I recommend the Green Tortoise instead.
It was really close to the Studio 7 venue and even ar 2:30 am there was good chineese food a block away. a great allternative to driving home. I will stay here everytime I am in Seattle for concerts and games.
Lovely old character building close to everything.
Everything was ideal for a hostel type situation.. ....for more economical purposes.. check out how Japanese use bed cubicle to increase occupancy and provide privacy for your guests
My room smelled like stinky feet... perhaps use a laundry chute for guest checkout instead of leaving soiled linens in room four outlets but two were occupied by fan and lantern. Maybe hardwired into circuit?
I stay here whenever I am visiting Seattle :-) The hostel's location is excellent (next to Amtrak, city buses,Bolt bus, a Japanese coffee shop and many many restaurants).Staff personnel are knowledgeable of Seattle and travel to Canada. And are nice down to earth people.
Big hostel, few people during the weekdays. Washrooms are very clean.
No daily activities. Quite boring.
Close to train station and Bolt Bus
The smell in my room
I liked the location as regard where we were going to our concert but the area is very sketchy after dark.
I didn't like the being woken up by someone drunk and trying to get into our room, he then took a pee in the hallway. we also were kept awake by pigeons having aggressive sex at our window. People struggling with there bags on the narrow stairs because of no elevator. Bits of blood splatter on one of the toilet walls. Everything else was fine :)
For the money, the location is fantastic. Close to the station and some cool places downtown. Staff were pretty helpful and we had no problems.
We got given the room next to the toilet, so there was banging through the night. Room was as we expected for the price, but there was an awful smell in there until we opened the window for the second night.
The facility offers a lot; the rooms are decent, private, and maintained very well.
I seemed to be stuck with people who snored quite a bit! :(
Convenience. Friendly. Comfortable. I really like the place.
The lady who cleaned the room put the dirty sheets from another guest's bed on MY bed while she was making up the other bed. For a long time! Gross! Other than that the facility was very clean. But I had to take off points for that. It really bugged me.
Location is perfect when it comes to the short walking distance to bus and railway.
Sleeping impossible. Quite far from downtown Seattle.
I like the location. Its right next to the Amtrak Union Station and China town. I was travelling by train and I am Chinese. So it was a very good location for me. very convenient to go around too
The price was a little bit too high compare with other hostels
very close to king street station
Good breakfast, excellent kitchen and common áreas.
Few showers. Quite noisy.
Breakfast was a plus
Very clean and tidy The location is excellent
The staff was friendly. The bathrooms( toilets, showers, sinks) and the bedding were pretty clean.
The entrance to the hostel, outside and inside were very dirty, and smelling pee and old garbage. The stairs all the way to the third floor were so unbecoming. The railing of these stairs looked as if they have been long ago forgotten...to be cleaned too. The first night we had little sleep due to the noise coming from other rooms.Second night was better. I saw a hostel in Europe, in Brussels and it was very clean and comfortable. But the one in Seattle... The rooms looked so unwelcoming. No effort whatsoever to make them look a little nice. I wish I didn't have to write such comments but I do it while hoping that someone will read them and pay those cleaners to work not only in the bathrooms and rooms, but also at the entrance,on the stairs and corridors.
Hotel was very neat and clean. They also got good WIFI and a hot water for shower as well. They had quite nice breakfast as well.
Since it is located in Chinatown, International District, one of my friends who lives in Seattle, he was really worrying that I was staying in that area.
Easy access to train and bus stations. Great food nearby.
Sharing a hallway /bathroom with men. Arriving/leaving after dark felt like taking my life into my own hands.
What I love to stay here is the clear room and bath room. The breakfast was better than I expected. I love to stay here if I have a chance to visit Seattle again.
The employee are needed to be good to the customer....
This hostel is perfect if you want cheap, basic accommodation close to downtown Seattle. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were comfortable with thoughtful details (reading light, fan, and electrical outlets at each bunk bed).
